Martyn 246 Posted June 26, 2019 -30 dg c.. even for my 40 fortitude that's too much. That's sitting in all night between two fires that is.
Captain Stabbin 34 Posted June 26, 2019 That is exactly why it is cold and hard! if you trek to the North be very well prepared and also be ready to adapt! The North should be exactly like it is. 60 fortitude also helps
Forb Hidden 134 Posted June 26, 2019 improved fur clothes will help too.
Martyn 246 Posted June 26, 2019 Yeh i never get around to making better fur, cos i'm rarely in the north, but it would make sense to. Having to end my mining at 8pm everyday to hide between 2 fires, not much fun. The torch helps during the day as well.
boomervoncannon 1,541 Posted June 26, 2019 (edited) The person I play Atlas with lives in Saskatchewan, outside Saskatoon. We have been gaming together since 2004 and she routinely sends me text msgs during the winter that say things like “high today -34 C” I get her back in August when I text things like “humidity here 4000%” Pre wipe we lived in O2 and spent a lot of time gathering in O1. 60 fort and improved fur both help. Martyn 246 Posted June 26, 2019 (edited) Well I've now filled 4 cargo racks with cobalt, tin, softwood, wetwood and some silver/oil etc. Time to roll back to N8. Where I get cooked alive everyday. Edited June 26, 2019 by Martyn

Pro tip: If you intend to smelt any of that metal, take a forge on your ship or set one up up north and smelt before hauling back because the weight discount as compared to hauling even two of the three mats needed is considerable. Martyn 246 Posted June 27, 2019 Yeh, atm it's the raw metal we need, rather than the alloy, although some will be smelted. I have a smelter on the ship, but I dont know what I need smelted atm as I'm not using it. But yeh a proper base in north with smelter would be a good idea.
