  1. I've thought of some extra aspects that would be increasingly beneficial to the player vs player scene, as well as maybe pve. I'd like to suggest that player shops be added to the game accompanying a karma system, a few key notes regarding what I'd consider an accurate karma system and how the game would take it into account. Declaration of war feature, revolving around the free-port. This feature has proven to be essentially useless, if a player is to attack someone he hasn't officially made a declaration of war against this will attribute negative karma, this includes killing players, destroying ships and structures. (Nobody in the current state cares about the declaration of war feature, because it's absolutely useless, we're all at war by default, red should not be the default color for an unknown/neutral targets ship.) Regarding people who want to increase their company or personal karma, I'd suggest PVE activities mitigate negative karma, a fraction of negative karma should be taken away when you do something like kill a ghost ship, perform the kraken, kill a hydra. Another buffer I'd suggest is an algorithm that detects player friendliness within proximity to a neutral player or ship, something to be considered is that players from your company will go behind your back and be unfriendly to other players, this will leave the leaders of mega companies to micromanage their ranks and players, the lower the rank a player the less impact he will have on the karma of the group overall, making the wrongdoers responsible for the way they act towards other players. The implementation of player shops for both the positive and negative karma, I'd suggest that the positive karma have an advantage in ship to ship combat and the advantages they'd be given, positive karma would be sold flare guns that would call the naval ships of the royal navy or an ai navy to their aid when they're under attack by a hostile entity or player. The flare gun, ranging in 3 different colors depending on the ship would be sold. 1000 gold for a naval schooner (yellow), 2500 for a brigantine (orange), and 5000 for a galleon (red) the ship would come and stay close to the player for a predetermined amount of time (I'd suggest that the captaineering perk extend the amount of time the naval ai forces will remain at your side, making it more beneficial to go down the tree if you're a trader/merchant/naval company). This would benefit the players who are on the PVP who would like to stay an independent trader. The negative karma/pirates would be sold things like lockpicks, evil figureheads, special clothes as well as a respective counterpart for the positive karma. Naval Outfits vs Pirate Outfits. There's much more to expand on, so drop your thoughts, I'd love to try to make these forums and this game a more constructive place where hopefully the developers will listen and adjust accordingly to the playerbases wants/needs, they've done a pretty good job thus far!
  2. Agreed, if not they need to make more natural sources for water, it's way to uncommon. Especially for people who would like to make water infrastructure like massive pipe systems to player cities.
  3. Personally really like this idea, I think that a lot of the aspects that made pirates great were the interactions made between them and the various countries navy. I've got a few questions I'd personally pose to the idea. What country is the dominating navy in the ATLAS universe? Britain, Spain, France? or a fictional country created by the developers, I think the developers would be more inclined to create their own faction in the future rather then adopt the Royal Navy. Would you be able to choose not to be a pirate? befriending the navy as protection from the more hostile groups would be beneficial to the player whom seeks a more PVE experience living a merchant life under the protections of the naval units that roam the ATLAS seas. While the pirates would be engaging in wars with the naval units that their karma has collectively turned against them, possibly boosting more gold for the pirates if they're able to fight naval fleets and repel incoming ground invasion from the naval units. I think a lot of these ideas would tide down the battles involving the larger companies because they would have more on their plates rather then a massive war between two of the biggest company alliances in the game. I think this post at least deserves a little traction, but most of the player base seems to be more focused on the PVP aspect of the game. Rather then pushing the development of the game forward as a whole for the better, time after time again I've been told that you're on a PVP server and should expect 'Join or die!' but that's hardly ever the case, PVP is just the option to participate, not something that should be forced onto you. The aspect of a naval menace/possible friend? would mitigate the losses and calm the storm.
