  1. Does anyone have the coordinates for all of the newly added Islands by chance? Please and thank you.
  2. Nerfed? Yep, I'll say it has been severely nerfed. When you have it out, now you cannot run with it. Freaking stupid. I understand that you should have to slow down to draw the string and shoot the bow accurately but just having it out to run like we used to do was necessary. Now it is just plain unusable...
  3. Grapeshot you snuck in a new change to snare players while actively using their bow? This is a bad decision and now completely ruins the bow all together as even being viable for PVP/PVE combat. Why in the hell would you do this? Please reconsider this, thank you in advance.
  4. I second this notion. There are many aspects that, though they might have looked good on paper, the implementation and the player base has taken it in unintended directions. A thoroughly complete brainstorm and overhaul are in order.
  5. Just because you can do something in a game does not mean that it is intended or desired by the DEVs and has no room for that kind of distasteful behavior from being prevented. Holy crap. How many times must I squelch this kind of feeble argument? There are no AI defensive mechanisms within ATLAS that can effectively compete with human ambition, persistence, and ingenuity. My cover is blown, the gig is up...I was actually holding out for ARK 2.0 but settled on a poorly implemented pirate game instead...
  6. This is how EVE online handles travel. Instead of buoys, they are wormhole transport generators. The last thing I want to worry about is players with birds-eye view of the map. The flying dinosuars ruined ARK for me and I feel it would devistate ATLAS. The dragons dont count as they cannot travel accross grids.
  7. If this is the case, we might as well just "instantly" travel with our boats. So, the easiest and cheapest method for this would be to have our ships load into our inventory and allow us to fast travel through our beds and retain all of the items we are carrying and then we'd effectively have fast traveled to another island where we are free to redistribute our boat back into the sea. I am good with that.
  8. I wouldn't know as I play solo and can only afford to build up to a schooner and it was effectively stolen while I was sleeping and then away at work. That is pretty dumb. What the hell are you talking about? If I see that something is wrong it is my responsibility to have it corrected and I believe that there should be offline raid protection on any company's structures and tames whenever they have logged off after a certain period of time. I had just posted how there can be no valid AI defensive system in ATLAS as AI cannot even begin to compete with human ambition, persistence, and ingenuity. That is exactly what these forums are for, to lodge a complaint and see if the DEVs agree. I can care less about what you think about my opinion.
  9. The fact remains, my ship was stolen. Every night someone heads down the coastlines of islands, placing flags to steal ships. And I stand behind my original statement: You must love being a dickhead griefer but I feel it is a stupid ability and makes the game tedious. If you like it, great man, have fun but I don't and we both get to lodge our opinions on these forums. I absolutely abhor the tax/protection island system. It is not well thought out nor being implemented well. I don't feel that I should have to pay anyone a tax, screw that. I appreciated and understand Lawless as it is the exact flavor from that of ARK. My biggest complaint about this game is "OFFLINE" griefing. When I log out, my stuff should be safe as I am not online to protect it, there is not PVP value in offline griefing, and all NPC defensive measures are prone to become vulnerable. AI cannot begin to compete with human ambition, persistence, and ingenuity. I enjoy many other PVP aspects about the game and it is not for you to decide if someone should play in a different mode. It sounds to me that you enjoy arguing for the sake of arguing, griefing peoples stuff while they are offline, and you would like continue harassing players structures and hard work while they are offline and unable to defend.
  10. This will not help for PVP servers and I do appreciate the beds as fast travel since I appreciated them back in ARK. They are extremely handy and for a solo company, they are an essential aspect. I love ATLAS for being derived from ARK and having so many things in common with ARK and I wish the two would have been combined together... For everything else that you posted, I totally agree. I have been saying as much, since the beginning of the game.
  11. The point of the forum is for anyone to voice their opinion and suggestions about the game and its current direction in an effort to have those aspects corrected as they might find agreeable. The DEVs will weigh the benefits against the detriments and decide which suggestions make more sense to the viability and future of the game. I fully appreciate that you like the sailing aspect as it is currently but you need to understand that I do not. In the PVP mode I play on, sailing is rather tedious, time consuming, risky, and prone to griefing. This is exactly what I am doing. It is boring to me so I am doing something about it. It really isn't for either of us to decide in the end, we can only voice our opinions.
  12. Um, that is exactly what I was saying. When someone says something is boring it can only be taken as an opinion. "Definition of boring: Causing weariness and restlessness through lack of interest; causing boredom" This can only be used as an opinion. Not sure how you thought I meant me being bored of sailing within ATLAS as anything other than my opinion? Its cool man, you can enjoy sailing that's your thing. It would make perfect sense that you have chosen to play ATLAS.
  13. You sound like my wife. I never called you a name, I used troll as a verb... It is, in fact, incorrect as a statement for how I feel as you have no clue but it is true that it seems to be your opinion. I happen to love many aspects offered by ATLAS, this is why I am still playing it. I love building structures, fighting with my shield, climbing with my grappling hook, exploring the islands and different biomes. I love building ships, taming animals, breeding animals, and fighting the NPCs. I even love it when I get to have a one-on-one PVP encounter but that does not mean that I need to also enjoy the "offline" griefing and sailing as it is currently in the game. This has nothing to do with the fact that I may enjoy sailing if a few aspects about it currently were to be agreeably modified. So, your argument is flawed.
  14. Oh, I see. Yes, I was afraid of playing PVE as I thought that there was not enough PVE content and did not want to be excluded from the PVP side of things.
  15. Yes, but how are you keeping your schooner from being destroyed nightly by Offline Griefers? Also, your easy, breezy sailing might now be impeded by the ship-equipped ballista tractor beam...
  16. Honestly, I seldom sail as It is really boring to me as I cannot even go AFK because of the constant micromanaging to avoid storms and SOTD. Sailing is the WORST part of this game to me. I was sold on ATLAS as it was advertised originally, to be a fantasy MMO with spells and mythical creatures and had all of the ARK associated mechanics that I already have come to love such as taming and building. I just prefer to build bases, explore, and tame on very large Lawless Continents but it is beginning to becomes a bit boring too so I am looking very forward to the new lands that they have just added.
  17. Nope, as a solo player. I have yet to sail a schooner as it always takes all my playing time for the night to build one and then they are sunk by OFFLINE griefers overnight. I have complained about this profusely to the DEVS. My last one was stolen from me, and I had it in a stone gated shipyard too!
  18. I have already written a post about this very thing. There should be a ship-build that supports maneuverability and superior speeds for avoiding combative encounters and safely traverse the seas. As a necessary sacrifice, they cannot carry much weight or any offensive structures.
  19. Yes, it makes no sense for them to look so magical ghostly and then once they are destroyed, their crew is just normal human NPCs.
  20. Yes, they should have the very same restrictions we sailors have. I agree with you there...
  21. Actually, it was advertised as a Pirate, Fantasy MMO. It was intended to have both, PVP, and PVE associated content. This would include naval battles, base sieges, sailing, land masses to explore, questing, building and taming system, mythical creatures, underwater diving, and eventually a magical system. I would certainly love to see NPCs such as pirates, tribal inhabitants, and monsters that may band together and attack your ships and land structures. As it is, the SOTD have very little AI and merely troll back and forth on the ocean and there is not really a point to them as they are currently implemented. Why are their ships ghostly but once they are sunk, their crew becomes living humans once more? Weird and silly...
  22. In many movies and books, practitioners in magic often have only a limited tolerance before succumbing to exhaustion from the mental exertion. For PVP, tarot casters could also call forth fog, enshrouding their ship, or summon rogue waves to thwart or slow pursuing ships... I would love the Tarot to finally be implemented and these would make some pretty interesting aspects to include.
  23. I don't see how it would adversely affect PVP as anyone could spec for INT and Tarot if they wish. If they don't then they chose other avenues to become proficient in... It is called, carefully, dedicated skill choices and SHOULD be important to each character and help to provide diversity in character builds.
