  1. I would not have minded paying one in the beginning to keep the development afloat. Now they lost all trust. I am not throwing more money in their direction for another "this time we wont wipe again, promise". Even if they would somehow manage to fix all the issues.. the playerbase moved on and Atlas wasn't special enough to get larger groups to come back anyway.

One option is to wait until the game is finished and out of early access before playing. That way the chances of your progress being removed is severely reduced.
Unfortunately, when early access is treated as it should be, a process of change and development for a game, then such things as wipes and lost progress do happen.

Like this game will ever make it out of EA. And stop talking about development. A cheap powerpoint presentation about a roadmap you never followed isn't called development. Check the patchnotes of the last year.

What are you gonna try out? Nothing changed in 3 months only a clean server because it costs too much money.

How dare you! This time they really really really mean it! Pinky promise! 😉

  4. How unexpected. The "last" wipe wasn't the last wipe. And the roadmap wasnt the actual roadmap. And now we will get "monthly" updates. But they probably promise that THIS time they really really really mean it. Pinky promise.

  5. This game is done. They will just turn the servers off at some point, or nitrado will simply reduced the capacity even more. No reason to wipe anyways, sooner or later the last people doing maintenance will simply forget once, and their stuff will be erased.

My opinion of it is the game is the game on the developers terms and these guys behind these games aren't dumb as rocks especially on a Game Preview, keep up the work devs and tune out the complainers.

Which work? They stopped a long time ago.

I wonder if we should start a fundraising campaign to buy the game.... Hand it over to some competent team that listens to the players and gets things done. I wonder how much the greedy bunch needs to let go atlas...

So many good examples for crowd funded games... Like Star Citizen (or how to make a fortune selling virtual ships you will never fly)... Or Chronicles of Elyria (how to scam people into buying virtual titles and jobs).

Missed opportunity really, devs had something unique on their hands and neglected it in favour of doing more of the same elsewhere. And Genesis is not really receiving praise either so they shot themselves in both feet in the end.

100% agree with you there. Big potential wasted 😕

Last Oasis will have private Servers soon as well!

Well, I received the game as a gift so I can't complain. For a player like me, Atlas is a godsend. It would be great if the devs come back to flesh it out and finish it once they're done with Genesis. This update, with it's lack of bugfixes, is a good sign regardless.

The thing is, outside of the variety of MMOs, there haven't been a new pirate/sailing game in ages. We've been stuck on the old Sea Dogs games for two decades and it's great to finally have something new. Definitely gonna spread the word, the Sea Dogs/Storm engine games had their fair share of bugs and issues as well so, it won't be that difficult to adapt.

Playing online is fun but, we could do with an additional official server or two to clear up some claimable land for newcomers. Either way, I found that singleplayer and private co-op servers is where this game really shines.

You should give "last Oasis" a shot. It honestly is all Atlas could have been. And they actually have people developing.

But anyway, still great to see a new update just a day after I got the game. The game is clearly not dead as many claim.

You are kidding, right? That is not an update. Its a joke. It is about as useful as adding a new skin for cats. There is clearly no one left that can do any development whatsoever. That is a leftover staff or intern sitting around with a "programming for dummies" book trying to edit a few lines of code.

You do realise when they were supposed to launch, right? The "alpha" is 6+ years behind the planned release of the whole game... Im not defending Atlas, bu they had more playable content at the EA launch than SC has today (And that meas something). SC was a virtual hangar to watch your digital ships you bought for most of its lifetime. Yet they still manage to string idiots along, its amazing tbh.

Star citizen have active development, the money they get earn is being put into developing the game. Atlas on the other hand what kind of development have we had the last 6 months? Some QOL changes an intern could do over a weekend? Prior to that we got a pointless hydra pistol, 3 tames noone uses, roleplay skins and some island changes.

You are litterly comparing apples to unicorns.

    Google what literally means.

There is NO active development in Star citizen at all. They keep melting in packages and resell skins and virtual spaceships to idiots. By the sound of it, you are one of them.
