  1. Problem: 1) People are building mega fortresses with 1000's of base parts that lag the server and cause load in lag when you get in visual range. 2) People spam claims everywhere in areas they do not want/need just so they can have it 3) Raid mechanics require you to take each individual flag at up to 4 hours per flag. 10x flags mean 40 hours to take. I understand you can do multiple simultaneously, but nakeds will spawn and reset any claim you are not on. They can sail back on a raft and reset it if all the beds are destroyed. 4) Buildings are time-consuming to repair and it can be hard to find the damaged parts unless they are heavily damaged. Solution: New structure called Company Headquarters. The Company Headquarters will replace the tax center in such a way that taxes go in and upkeep comes out. The idea is that each flag costs a scaling amount such that it makes the claim sizes be linked to the number of members in the company by having them have to farm and fill the center with the materials requested. The materials needed are a % of the things built in the zone. The building will also after one hour of no PvP begin passively repairing structures. This solves the 5000 block fortress that the 3 man group built because they can not afford the upkeep. It solves the spam of large gates because people will need to keep inserting alloy and large quantities of stone. The building is expensive, most islands do not have everything so to ask for the materials in the tax center on any claim is a bad idea. Pick an arbitrary number like 3 claims do not require the building but any more do. If the building runs out of materials or is destroyed all repairs stop immediately and all claim flags are dropped after 12 hours at a rate of 1 per hour until there are 5 flags remaining. The destruction of the building leaves wreckage like a boat where the attacker can loot the building but the defender can repair it and it continues to act as the focal point for the decay of flags... furthest away first after 12 hours at 1 per hour. Attackers can siege the building which will put it into rubble status. The rubble will light on fire for a determined amount of time which is +/- 2 hours of a chosen time (at least 24 hours) and after that time can be repaired by either team. If the attackers take the building, everything will flip to the attackers. If the defenders defend it and repair it, the timer is reset buildings begin to repair and their claims are safe. This is in addition to the claim flag system but guarantees the one claim someone chooses to safeguard cannot be offlined. This makes it so that there are two ways to remove someone, spam claim flags and take all but one headquartered claim than fight for the building or just go for the building. If you do the claims first you can build a FOB and have access to things like mortars to shell the base and defenders. If you have the numbers, go right for the building. I've used the word building a few times but let's talk about the reality of what it should be... It should be like 150-200k hp. Something that random roaming PvPers will ignore and require a deliberate attack.
  2. Can we get a fix for animals spawning close to/inside of buildings? We have had wild wolves in our base for the past week eating tames. One morning we had an alpha chicken there aswell. It is getting out of control. We have pens that are completely enclosed including a floor and another that is just a stone perimeter floor. It happens in both pens. The spawns happen when we are online, but seemingly occur when we are offline more often.
  3. I can reproduce this. It sucked for 20 minutes of our trans-atlas voyage last week.
  4. We made gun towers with puckles on them. They can not be placed on boats though. Just put on NPC crews and let them shoot. Alternatively make a net that will let you though but not wolves and lions. You can kill them later at your convenience.

    No respec

So you gave everyone a respec, but why did I not get one? How do I get this "free" respec? I have 41,000xp and level 51 whereas all my buddies are level 49 with 41,000xp. I am also having less skill points then they do...
  6. Have you salvaged a brig or bigger? A galleon on deep ocean took us 5.5 hours with 4 people. 1 gunport and you are swimming back up or doing them all and crawling up. Plus deep ocean, bottom time is 2.5 minutes of scuba. So what... do it all, drown, popcorn it, wait 60 seconds, grab it all drown, and repeat it to the surface? Pass. There should be some kind of mechanic to move materials from the absurdly deep ocean to the surface.
  7. The devs clearly did a flat ocean floor and height mapped the islands. There is no real middle ground, it's either all the way down or not. The current salvage mechanics are that you have to do trips for hours to do larger salvage work or use exploits like popcorn loot and let it float part way up and grab it before it despawns to repopcorn it. What if we made a crane attachment for boats that lowers down a box to store things in. Think of it as a water elevator. Make it 3000kg carry weigh or do slots, 12 slots would be sufficient. This way it's an engaging crew dynamic because one dudes on crane, one on lookout, one or two diving. It would also encourage gameplay usedfor larger ships to salvage. The bigger the ship the more the attachment points
  8. The diving suit is bugged so that you get wet in the water. Now I know this is a bug, because diving in polar regions, you are not even cold in it on the deck. As soon as you hit the water... boom wetness 100% and dying of cold. It would be perfect if you were dry. Which leads me to believe the suit was designed to not apply wetness buff.
  9. Hello everyone! I've seen some YouTube videos showcasing their boats, but was curious what the rest of the community does. Anyone who is willing post a picture or pictures of a boat, one boat per reply and tell us briefly what it's purpose is (open ocean combat, raiding, exploration, whale hunting, etc)
  10. Also on this list is how shitty the gathering animals are. An elephant can carry wood like we do thatch. But its gather is the same as a metal tool but its out of stamina in 5 hits.
  11. You can use explosives or cannons.... good luck. Grenades do 13 damage per, so they are not worth it.
  12. What about the same question but as cheating? This dude has a flyhack.
