Ship windows use doors?

Dunno If this is an intentional game mechanic,and I've been too occupied to notice,but today a door snapped to a ship window and when i went to pick it up it just gave me the option to open or close it.So are doors used for ship windows or did it just glitch?anyone know?thx

It’s intentional!  Just be careful because it’s easy to accidentally place a window instead of a

When a door, or hatch is closed, the only option is to open, or close.  To actually interact with the door, or hatch, you have to open it first, then look at the actual door, or hatch.  Not sure when this is the case, as doors and windows did not act that way in ARK, but it does in Atlas.
