Shalmon 0 Posted March 2, 2019 Just a small suggestion, can you make it so that mounting a cannon on ships as a player gives you the same 3rd person view you get when using the wheel or podium? Part of why NPCs are better to use then players is because that they don't care if their ability to aim is limited to a small box and a small grey/yellow line. Shalmon 0 Posted March 2, 2019 Also another improment. Always show the big cannon target area, even if our mouse is a bit left or right from it, so we can just turn the ship or telling the guy at the helm to do so and don't need to find that tiny spot where the cannons can actually shoot at. bluelance 22 Posted March 2, 2019 Have you ever tried shooting from below deck? You can hardly see anything directly in front XD nevermind seeing the line you cant even see if there is a ship there at all unless its close
Shalmon 0 Posted March 2, 2019 You did not even mention the fact that the gun ports can be below the waterline sometimes...
gadefence 148 Posted March 2, 2019 My strongest suggestion: Add this into render range. Thick smoke blocking sight would help smaller ships and boarding parties a lot.
Captain Jack Shadow 488 Posted March 3, 2019 Better idea. Let Heavy cannons swivel like the smaller ones, just less swivel, and less range. This will encourage people to use the small cannons too...if they have more range. Heavy cannons should have advantage of more damage, while smaller cannons should have advantage of range. As for the smoke...I fear people will cheat, and while you can't see because of smoke, they will see just fine...and note that the Captain and LT, see from was above the ship when firing cannons, so how will that smoke bother their site? It would only further dissuade people from firing the cannons themselves.
