Case of the Scurvy 72 Posted January 28, 2019 For example... Galleon 6 large speeds each with 4% speed bonus does that = 24% boost or an average of all 6 to be only a 4% increase?
Axden1 51 Posted January 28, 2019 I assume it's multipactive, not additive.

Pallist 67 Posted January 28, 2019 1 normal speed sail is 100% of that individual speed sail. 6 normal speed sails on a ship is 100% speed of 6 speed sails (100%+100%+100%+100%+100%+100%)/6 5 normal speed sails and 1 speed sail of 104% is: (100%+100%+100%+100%+100+104%)/6 100.67% speed If 5 are 104: (100+104+104+104+104+104)/6 103.3%

And is this confirmed or speculation? Edited January 28, 2019 by Case of the Scurvy
Pallist 67 Posted January 28, 2019 It takes the average of the sails, yes. The other way would allow for ships twice the speed and beyond...
Brick 11 Posted January 28, 2019 Definitely not that way.... If you have 6 sails at 106% each sail is working 6% better. So essentially, in a way, it does stack.

The speed bonuses are averaged out like that but it is based on the total number of sail units vs the max sail units. And then averaged out... but I have yet to test it. I do know it does not stack. So a ship with a 102% speed sail and a 108% speed sail wont be 110% faster.
Stimpack 4 Posted January 29, 2019 nope, it will be at 105 %. If you only have 2 sails: cause : (102+108)/2 =105 %

But I think the only time this really changes is if they are two different sized sails. Like a large and a small. Then you have to factor in which sail is providing the most wind force.
