Those who have gone whaling: how many harpoons on average has it taken to take out a whale?

Depends on your aim.  A good estimate is probably 80-125

we have gone whaling three times now and it takes around 75-100 bolts in the beginning.  As your people get better that number I think will go down.  We have only gone after the gentle whales right now they damage the boat if you get too close but nothing like the angry whales.
