remove grindiness until more stable!

Recommended Posts

The game is in EA so we can give feedback and report bugs to help you make a game people enjoy? Or is EA just an excuse to have free QA?

Currently i was not able to play the game to give actual constructive feedback... my exp so far:

When i finally found a small spot on an island after the initial issues i started building a ship... was building it for days.. in between waiting because resources do not respawn, and then getting skill point nerf so i have to specialise to one thing only... and when i was about to finish the ship so i can explore the game freaking ghostships came and nuked it...

Seriously if i have to spend all the time grinding to make a ship that then just vanishes or explodes or get sunk from NPC, there is not much i can discover to give actual feedback...
Same goes for skills... if can only try out one skilltree i can not test the different skills and give feedback on it!

Yes eventually the game will be grindy and the skillpoints will be nerfed. But for now while this game is so damn unstable let us just be able to discover the game so we can actual give constructive feedback and not just complain because we cant do anything...

I know you won't like hearing this but this is an MMO not a single player game and it will be balanced around groups of people working together and that is a big part of what is being tested now, the Devs have no clue what their idea of a game actually is until a bunch of people start doing things to work around every system they thought would be perfect, I understand that some people prefer to play alone, I do it at times and have done it in many different types of games to varying success.

Ark was doable although not easily but you couldn't get the most out of the game playing alone. From what I see with the skill systems, this game simply won't be so easy to do everything you may want to do.

you do know that every MMO can be played alone until you hit end game content? but yeah keep telling you that until your shipmaker leaves because he get bored from only making ships

Consider...

If the char lvl cap is 50...  you get 100pts,
Full BM is 100pts approx with the current costs...

Now for BC, you need a tannery and bolas... if you're going solo, definitely not going full BM...not enough pts.
Full, BM..going to be garthering.. a lot for exp.    Imagine there might be a few folx that want to be full time ship builders, cooks etc..
   but not a lot.

(I'll check the pts once servers back up)

The skill limitations are made to have a bigger impact in true player specialization where trading not only resources is a thing, but also services like cooking, tanning, etc.

This is all fine and good, but during this early access period makes little sense to me. True player trading and everything with it connect is not viable in such unstable game builds where people are being hit with rollbacks and losing stuff almost every new patch. If the devs keep up the pace of fixes, we might have a rough diamond here and in a few months or in a year we might have something special here.
