  1. Just A suggestion devs, but In light of a recent thread, the ability to change a characters name may be a prudent addition to the game if it can be done,I personally don't understand why people chose offensive names, but if it is a genuine mistake ie culture language difference it would give someone a chance to alter it before it escalates. I have actually spoke to someone on an mmo who's name in my country meant something VERY different to his own,it's rare but it can happen.

  2. I know he uses mods but I thought he just used them for testing,ie weather, wind etc.Oh well I guess its still either 1 large speed and 1 small, and handles like a plank,or 1 large handling sail and 1 small speed, handles better but is deffo a bit slower.Mind you not sure if at them speeds I could solo 4 sails anyway ,especially with no crew i'd probably hit everything.

  3. Sometimes I wonder if the steam set up is snagging the downloads though,I bought a 2tb external drive and now play a lot of my games from it and some pretty juicy mmos on it too,but I have noticed a slower download since I split the games on my internal.ESO is probably the worst, that game is massive on my drive now what with all the dlc and addons. The way games are going we will have to have hard drives the same size as our pc's,just like when home computing began, although admittedly then the ram was the size of a suitcase and was only 1mb!

yeh but the problem is boomer I also want a new guitar, and I can make money from that, and where I live if I had a daughter she wouldn't be allowed out till she was 18 and fully armed!

  4. Well let me think a new hard drive or my family eat....,but seriously that's still too steep for me when i can save up for a new pc which is what i'm doing.and yeh win 10 management is pretty useless but until they lose the pc monopoly im pretty much stuck with it as all my graphics programmes run on it.Lets just not all get bogged down with name calling though, we are all gamers we got a lot in common we can start there eh.

  5. well if i cant kill the kraken fairly to get the sub yeh i'll stack the odds in my favour,to quote aj rimmer,I'd shoot him if he was on the toilet.and I honestly dont care a penny that people think its cheating. In real life I believe in a fair fight, thats all that matters.in a single player pc game who really cares?

And I would like to add that single player mode is damn brilliant and very well done.

  6.  I had commodore 64's amiga's and atari st,and with the exception of the tape my commodore never went wrong at all,so you musta been unlucky to find faulty ones, also games do run better on ssd, anyway if you're so knowledgeable instead of put downs why don't you offer good advice? Also there are things windows 10 does to my pc and graphics tablet that even microsoft couldn't find the answer to and they are writing it.And it really bugs me when people assume that nobody else has tried any form of pc maintenance to sort the issue out,btw next time atlas is running look in task manager to see how much of your mem is being taken up,or for a great example outlaws of the old west.oh and not everyone can afford to buy huge ssd hard drives whenever one gets full.

  7. While I agree that single player is really good, and quite a gutsy move for the devs and I hope they keep up the good work,I defend any ones right to moan or criticize something they care about and are part of,especially as that's what these forums are for, player feedback.Oh and by the way you were just moaning about people moaning, irony I believe.

  8. Yeh my sons got almost the same spec pc as me however he has windows on a separate ssd drive,he's got so many games you can't see the desktop picture, and he never has lag or loading probs update probs or anything, and runs all his games on high too.I did think of doing that myself but i'll need a new pc soon anyway so the next one I buy i'll make sure windows is on a separate drive. It might not be that that does it, but it does seem to help a lot.

  9. Yeh as i've said before whenever a bad mechanic is mentioned, the old realistic sailing chestnut raises its pointless head, when was the last time you read a maritime book or visited a museum and noticed a galleon with torpedoes, submarine, giant tame crab and dragon support?Unless you were reading captain nemo of course.realism ha ha.

  10. I think it also depends on what you want to get from sp mode too.I use it to try things out that I don't want to waste time and resources doing in pve, like ship design, building, different weaps and stats etc. Especially if you are a pve solo player, which some of us smaller companies are fast becoming unfortunately.

  11. There's an old saying, your best friend is the one who will  tell  you your breath stinks, not the one who won't.When ESO went tam one me and a lot of older players criticized it and were shouted down by all the fanboys for not being  behind the game and it's devs, sometimes the areas are completely empty now, and the fanboys are gone.If you want a game to do well then you have to let them know what you feel is wrong,Ok it's fair to say that you might be wrong, but you still have to say something. Also the devs of this game created these forums for feedback from players.

  12. I agree the vits are a daft mechanic, especially as it clashes with the food stomach mechanic,if they do keep it then you should need to eat vits when and only when the stomach icon starts to empty. The way they are at the moment makes no sense at all.Unless your'e a hardcore die hard fanboy of course, cos then you just attack people for any game changing suggestions they might make, even if they are logical.

  13. Yeh it would be great if you could find inhabited npc settlements, maybe where you could sell stuff too,I find all too often games get any amount of hostiles and hardly ever any friendly npc's, It would be refreshing for an mmo to be peppered with friendly settlements, and maybe the odd cannibal one here and there.Maybe a ghost village too,the possibilities are pretty much endless really.

  14. Yeh I agree, the one thing that puts me off of sailing is the time it takes to get anywhere versus the time I actually have to play, which seems a bit silly in a pirate game where sailing and exploration needs to be encouraged.whether you don't mind the speed of sail or not is always going to be dependent on your real life time. What annoys me though is all the people with their giant crabs, torpedoes, submarines and dragons telling other people that the wind at sea needs to be realistic, otherwise it's not a proper pirate game!
