  1. The Yeti bug basically broke season 4 in my opinion.  It's given an overwhelming advantage to a few players.  I'd be happy if they reduced everyones XP back to zero and started over.

The entire restart of the maps was ill conceived, poorly planned and executed.  We still have fiber that isn't mapped properly and MANY resources that are simply unfarmable (trees that don't register hits, rocks that produce no resources).

The tax doesn't affect you at all just FYI. It's not a reduction of the resources you take but an addition to the owner of 30% of what you harvest. You still get the same amount of resources. Just wanted to clear that up. It's one of the few things they did right.

In PVE that is true, not PVP.

  3. After the day 1 debacle it appears all of the resources are mixed up.  Those things producing ark fiber (useless) are now producing generic fiber.  This will make it difficult to craft better than common gear.

  4. The island cost reduction made it possible for all the islands to get claimed on day one including many companies claiming whole grids based on their numbers.  There are no islands left for small/medium companies.  How was the smaller map size and nearly free upkeep going to help new players?  Every island that I've been to so far has the tax cranked up to 30% and every lawless base I tried in the first couple days was destroyed.

  5. So apparently all unofficial servers will be forced to wipe.  The devs' must have known this when they made the announcement and chose not to share that information to keep the player count up.  Shame on you guys.

  6. I absolutely agree, the BP's create a WIDE disparity between those that have the resources to use them and those that do not.  It was pointless to sail around in common ships as any better ship was guaranteed to take them out.  I think they should nerf EITHER all offensive or all defensive BP's.

(yah yah, I know if you have enough luck, circumstances, numbers, conditions, game glitches a common sloop with a single canon can take out a mythic Galleon, so don't bother arguing that).

  7. Guys it took them 6 months to announce a new roadmap.  Obviously things need to change for this to continue to be a viable MMO.  It's hard, i know.  I've been playing since day one when you couldn't even get a freeport and spent months in the tundra dying every 5 minutes collecting resources.  I think they have a general idea they want the game to be successful, and how to mesh PVP and PVE together.

I've played on official over 1 year PVP and on a few private servers PVPVE.  It can work.

I hope the sale and additional funding is enough for them to keep the momentum.  At this rate I'm glad to hear ANYTHING.  That being said I have many many hours into the game and definitely got my moneys worth.

  8. We all need a very clear understanding of what this means for UNOFFICIAL SERVERS.  People that have spent good money to create communities outside of the official highly toxic ones.  I am among many players that abandon official (more than once, three times now).  I don't have much will to play now that is clear that there will be an official W word coming.

We need a clear statement on the intent of unofficial servers.  Right now there is a giant hammer over everyones head.

Not a year has passed and you erase the Server 👎

They are also reducing the hosting cost by 25%.  Its kind of obvious that the dev's have accepted that the player base didn't warrant 900 servers.  The PVE NA has the less average number of players.

  10. Hey, they can't run 225 servers on PVE for less than that number of players.  No longer sustainable, good decision.  I am unsure how what remains of the community are going to migrate to higher latency EU server OR PVP NA.   There is one thing GREAT about the wipe of PVP Official.  All of the companies that have wiped mine completely off the server multiple times, LOSE EVERYTHING... BAAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!

  11. I pretty much gave up on PVP.  Been playing the second round for about 6 months. There is a huge disparity among new companies and established companies.  Mythic ships are about 400% better than standard ships.  So, the game becomes a game of denial.  This despite the fact there are 125 servers and an average of 200 players online in NA PVP.  It's sad.  Once you get noticed, a wipe is virtually imminent.  Certain companies pick certain servers and set about cleansing them of everyone.  It's no longer fun for me.  Drive bys and raids I can handle, being structure wiped is another story.

having to defend bases is worse.  THAT locks everyone down on the island, more than anything.  Breeding is typically done by just a small part of a Company...normally a few people.  The rest are focused on building ships and gathering for base construction and defense.

Change the structure limit to 800 per 30 grid units instead of 8000, that would fix a lot of things too.  That would limit bases to just a tower or two.

  13.  The game is supposed to be a naval combat game.  It defies logic to put in a mechanic that absorbs most of  your play time on land (breeding).  I think all tames should be the same level and no breeding whatsoever.  Nothing else changes.  You need an elephant, tame an elephant.  Every elephant is exactly the same and takes a few minutes to tame.  Problem solved.  No stashing at freeport, no wasted time, no breeding economy.  Done.  Get on a damn ship and on the water.

Why not just come up with game mechanics that allow everyone to avoid getting wiped, and yet creates reasons to PvP?  Seems a more reasonable solution.

Don't get me wrong, I like some of the ideas.  In fact I suggested a single invulnerable home flag, for example, in the past.  I think to minimize the base/tame aspect of the game do this.

    1. Remove levels from tames, don't allow breeding.  this would completely eliminate that aspect of the game that is supposedly ship-to-ship combat.  Instead of a breeding/trading/ground based/animal meta game.

    2.  Restrict structure build to 800, instead of 8000 per radius.  This would completely resolve the Xbox performance disparity and discourage uber basing.  Restrict ownership to A SINGLE ISLAND per company.

    3.  Remove EITHER, quality weapons or quality planks.  That would give ship to ship combat between mega's and newbs less obvious disparity.

    4.  IRON HAND elimination of cheaters.  Undermeshing, aimbots, etc....

On PVP NA there are really 4-5 companies that dominate the game by taking advantage of every mechanic.  Of course, none of this will happen, and I suspect more people will abandon official because of it.

  15. People need to sleep.  I like the island claim system.  Creating PVE zones to be friendly to new players is antithetical.  New players should settle on claimed islands and seek protection.  I like the idea of a 1 day cool down timer on tames in freeport, however this doesn't fix the issue if the company is using bots to refresh the timers.  Tames on Freeport should simply not be allowed to eat and starve/decay if left there.  If newbs can't handle PVP on day one, they should be in PVE.

Freeport has become a ridiculous shelter/fob for major companies that have been around since the wipe, and that are virtually invulnerable at sea as well.  So by protecting newbs the devs are basically sacrificing mid-tier players.

The thing killing this game is that exact mentality. You can tell if someone has progressed by the ship, base, crew. For nearly 3 weeks I have done the same thing, farm matts, build schooner little hut,  go sleep get wiped by level 50+ in a fucking galleon. Like ark, they don't want your stuff, it's shit compared to what they already have, they just want you restarting again and again and again. Fun is it, some pc player running god knows what fps running you around. Level 56 on a level 9. Yeah great fun. My refund is coming, either through xbox or my bank. I don't care how but I can get a full refund as it was bought on my card. Tired of putting in tickets for you inbred lot to sit in your office posting pics of you with pencils up your noses on Twitter. Typical yank mentality. You had a chance to make a truly iconic game, one that could live for nearly a decade like gta. But your either lazy or incompetent and sadly I can't figure out which.

There's always PVE... I mean if you can't stand the heat and all.  Either way the only thing you have really lost is time, regardless of the outcome.

with regard to your cultural bigotry, perhaps someone in your country can produce a more suitable game for you to play?
