  1. I'd like to see a progression from common hand tools, to tames, with very high quality hand tools being better than tames. Kind of an early to mid to late game thing. I think having a progression is important. Someone could also pick the option of skipping the mid game harvesting with tames and grind out the materials by hand and go find those good patterns. For sure, I don't think hand harvesting and tames should every be equal. One or the other should be better, and whichever is better should take more time to obtain.

You are missing my point. I don't want to be forced to do all of that boring crap my entire night, just to pay for some NPCs to man some puckle guns to defend my ships and my base. That is a real waste of time and effort. I just want to explore, tame pets, wreck dive, and build things.

If you can't afford 30 minutes every other day then I can't help you. Start an unofficial server where everything is free.

Also...flip your map around...red = PvE...blue = PvP.   Now is it still as great an idea?

Yep. The area of the PvP and PvE zones would have to be adjusted to make sense. As I posted, that was just a rudimentary drawing.

    Oh please.

Get out of here with that stuff. As I’ve already said I’ve had to listen to pvp players repeatedly talk down to and disrespect not just specific pve players they disagreed with, but ALL pve players as a group for 15 years ad naseum. Please link me to any post you’ve ever made taking your fellow pvpers to task for this behavior, yet here you are talking of speaking civilly when your grand idea of taking all pve players and involuntarily stuffing them into a much smaller play area surrounded by oh look! A much bigger portion of the map for you and your pvp ilk is met with the sharp criticism and derision it so richly deserves.

    Now who is the snowflake?

    GTFO with that nonsense.

If you removed all islands that are non inhabited, how big of a grid do you think you'd have left? Both PvP and PvE grids are too thin. Yes, PvE players would be pushed into a smaller area. So would PvP. PvE players, despite what everyone seems to think, would not have to participate in any PvP if they didn't want to. They simply stay in the PvE zones. This creates a new type of content and interation between the PvP and PvE communities. If you want to insult me based on an entire "type" of people - the problem is yours, Sir, not mine. I don't treat people that way.

  5. Wow. Y'all wanna talk about PvP being a toxic community? Yeah, I'm a PvP player. Not once did I disrespect all the PvE players in here. Yet y'all are frothing at the mouths at a simple idea that could be discussed civilly. Perhaps you should look inward a bit.

yes more people...all of who will try and sink us for teh lulz

the only real way this might become attractive to pve (and its not that attractive) is to have a faction based system..which would at least give a chance for some of the "more people to play with" to at least be on the same side , rather than just waiting to gank.

I like the idea of a faction based system.

  7. No skill involved - You're fighting the wrong people.

AFK raids - The new system has nearly eliminated AFK raids.

Exploits and Hacks - You're not going to get rid of these 100%. In any game. They're not as rampant as the forums make them out to be and the exploits are taken care of in short order.

Whats in it for PvE players? More people to play with. Works perfectly fine in Eve.

If concessions aren't made to increase the pop across the servers - there are going to be a lot of dead servers. I see people quit every day because of low pop.

  8. No one says you have to leave the PvE zones. Trade with folks willing to make the trip to get any mats outside the PvE zones you might need. Pay them gold or other resources in return. You never have to leave your safe little box and it creates content for those that want to play a trader.

  9. Since the beginning, I have felt that we should have PvE and PvP on the same grid. We have a 255 server grid. When i looked at NA PvP, there were 1600 people on it. That is 6 people per grid. This is extremely low. I feel that we should have a smaller number of Freeports located around Kraken grid. Instead of Lawless zones around the Freeports, we should have PvE zones. This allows the players to mix and to cater to both groups. It also adds a bit of danger for the PvEers. Want Ironwood or Twigs? Gotta travel through PvP territory. Rare resources should be a reason to leave PvE zones. This way, everything cannot be crafted in PvE zones. Kraken should remain a PvP zone. Attached is a (very) rudimentary drawing of what the grid may be like. Red is PvP zones, with the Kraken zone dead center. Blue is PvE/Freeports.

  10. 100g a day is hard? You're doing it wrong. Like totally wrong. Running around your island a few times picking up maps and you'll find common maps(in the same zone) for up to 400g. Within 30 mins, map gathering included, you should be able to easily get 300-600 gold from some common maps. If you're in an arctic area it's even easier. Most whales are 800-1000g per kill, depending on the type. They're all over. A schooner with some ballistas will make short work of it. Seriously, if you're having problems with gold, PM me and come play with me and ill show you how.

  11. Yeah.… pictures were posted in the Atlas official discord of TPG Black's harbor. There were sails missing, a few ships sunk, and many cannons missing.

And if you're saying all that was legit... sure, OK. I'll press the "I believe" button. I'm sure TPG can recover a few ships, cannons, and sails with the millions of resources they have stored.

  12. @Jatheish Dont use the claim flag. Create new structures that are crew centric. Crews barracks for feeding and paying them for the entire island (or two separate buildings). Logging camp that can be manned with crew up to X amt that generate wood/thatch of the same type in their radius based on how many crew are there(up to max amt). Quarry for stone. Mining camp for metal. Fields for fiber. Give them a reasonable cap on the resources they can hold and the rate at which they fill so they need to be emptied at reasonable intervals(12 hrs?) Or they get full and stop production. Could even animate the npcs working there so that the buildings feel alive. Only allow 1 of each building per company. Make crew more useful than manning sails or weapons.

  13. Gold consumption is super low. Its like 8 gold a day per crew. Less if you take them off their posts when you park a ship. Even at 30 crew, that is only 240 gold a day on station. A decent blue map will give you 1.5 to 2k gold - enough for 6 to 8 days. Or a handful of flotsam collections each day. This is a non issue.

Ship combat is now a time sink. To waste your time.

Trade "Ship combat is now" to "Video games are". You dont need to be overweight to be ready for combat. Cool your jets a bit, nothing is ruined. Search for BP cannons and you can still deplank people in 1 volley with less cannons. Less cannons = less weight.

  15. You either go through the main hallway in the center and down through a hole in the floor or a hole in the side of the ship. There are multiple different models. Gotta find the way to the hold of the ship.
