I have a question about taming. I succesfully tamed some lvl 1 & 2 animals, and was technically all set up for my first lvl 3 tame. My target was a rhino. To be prepared well I read on several discussions and youtube-vids the specifics of taming in particular a rhino the right way. So I built a taming pen with pillars, not with doorways and I tried feeding it from standing near the belly. There's only one thing i hadn't bothered with, and that was getting turnips. Because from the online discussions and youtube-vids I understood that when patch 10.0 hit turnip is no longer a necessity, but only the most effective food for taming a rhino. Since there's no turnip on or near my island I had gone for wild cactus, which in my eyes would qualify as a vegetable...... Everything looked fine, and I approached the rhino from the belly as said, and got prompted with the message in GREEN to press "E) Feed it Wild Cactus", but no matter how much buttonbashing I eventually practiced........... Rhino wasn't having Wild Cactus.
So my question is: what is happening here?
Does Wild Cactus not count as a vegetable? Or does the rhino not like Wild Cactus? (it does look like Wild Cactus should work, because the prompt for pressing E) (in GREEN) shows up, and this for example DOESN'T HAPPEN when you try to feed it blueberry's, in that case you get a message in GREY: "To tame, feed the animal Turnip, vegetables or fruits".
And BTW, there's is nothing wrong with my 'E'-key, as you can see from this message. But also in-game I tamed several creatures before and never had a problem with the game not reacting on pressing 'e' while prompted to do so....
I personally get the feeling the devs might wanted to let Wild Cactus work for taming a rhino, but this got changed and they forgot to change the messageprompt.......? But I honestly don't have a clue....
