  1. Thank you for that. I logged out while floating around last night. A friend confirmed my toon went to sleep and hovered on the ship snoring. Found that rather comical. I imagined this fellow waking up to find a levitating pirate snoring on his deck. Logged in this morning to find I have passed through the floor and am now in the hold. Unexpected. I did learn what I originally wanted to know. The ship has just about half damage and the owner sleeping on it has less than half health. It looks abandoned to me, which means the dock my company dropped isn't likely to be an issue for them. That was the whole reason I went on the darn thing to begin with lol. Was concerned about how we might be affecting the other player. Clearly I deserve to be punished
  2. So it would appear this is not a bug but something they did intentionally. Fascinating. It would be wonderful if the persons who conceived of this fix, and approved this fix be stripped of any responsibility. They cannot be trusted with your product. Offer them an internship. I'm sure they make great copies and can carry a cup of coffee across a room without spilling too much of it. You have a problem with griefers. Every game does. In the future, address the problem without needlessly affecting and punishing players that had absolutely nothing to do with problem. For example, rather than floating above the boat until death, you could have simply moved the player off the boat and into the water. You could have chosen not to let them set foot on the boat to begin with. This is a great game. A great vision. Clearly some great people working on it, just not the people who came up with this.
  3. Yeah... At this point, I'm inclined to believe this is a bug. I see nothing about this in the patch notes. There is something about encumbered players but I was not encumbered at all. Not even a little. I think some players are assuming it is a fix but I'm finding that hard to believe. Hopefully they'll figure it all out by morning.
  4. Can someone link to patch notes actually containing this change? I can find no mention of it. I did find something about encumbered players, which is perfectly fine, but I'm stuck in this bug and am in no way encumbered at all. I believe this is a bug, not even remotely an intentional fix at this point.
  5. Finally addressing the issue, sure, better late than never. However, this is not a fix. The is the introduction of a bug that, in my case, is punishing an innocuous situation. I do check the patch notes often, but one could not have anticipated the devs purposely literally breaking their system to the behest of well intentioned players. It's very disappointing. A better solution would have been tossing the player right off the boat. Gets the job done of addressing the sinking issue without needlessly antagonizing customers that had nothing to do with the initial problem. Again, very disappointing. One would expect more than an ill-conceived, lazy, amateur solution to a problem they ignored too long to begin with. Poor show.
