  1. What about that artifact cost 20k gold in FREEPORT? I mean... my pathfinder can carry for around 2k... If I respec and put all to weight I'll add like 1k - more. It's 3k then and I need 20k? If I wish to buy this artifact - I don't know, how?

(And yeah - if weight there in kilos, it means one single coin weigh 400g. Must be a huge coin : )

Those who already killed mulltiple whales, did u get discovery points every time you kill a whale, or just for the first time for each whale?

    Thanks for the help.

I didn't kill em but yesterday guy in chat said that there are 3 types of whales and you get points for killing each one for the first time.

  3. Today I spent about 3 hours just to ride across the island searching for two discovers unopened in my region. I've been killed twice by wild creatures! For few times I was upset to see my tame-mount hit hundreds invisible walls around. I've climbed to every mountain, check every forest and then well... just set my sails and departed.

    All was for NOTHING.

I wasn't sure - I'm in the right place. I wasn't sure what am I looking for. In my experience - discovery might be an ancient statue, or ruins... or there might be five cliffs on the island. One - is a discovery and other four just a regular cliffs. Or it just a little clearing, or even tiny rock sticking out of the water.

I'm about to hit my level cap, and I HAVE TO GO search those discovers, but in most cases I JUST DON'T KNOW WHERE AND WHAT TO LOOK FOR!!!

And... correct me if I wrong, but discovers must have some value, right? The ruins and statues are good. But what if I go through a regular island (same as the others) and wait until I see the top-right corner sign will change to "???" sign? And when it happen, it will be a regular island and regular place, same as the others? Doesn't looks like and adventure for me - just a wild extreme grind.

And... yeah, every time I go to a different region, I keep asking a chat, for a discovers here. I keep doing it for a week now. And I didn't received any answer at all. Just her majesty silence in a chat. Official EU PVE... (I always try to chat, while long way sailing, etc. and in most cases talking to myself).

I guess It MUST be some improvement within discoveries system in a game. Because today I didn't want to waste my time but I did...

  4. The yourh buff is pretty cool tho... I did it just solo. Went closest freeport, got ramshake with bed, got there naked. Run to the cave for 3 times and done.

But anyway I didn't feel this process is fun, and I still don't understand how they see this golden age ruins. I mean all animals kills you in just 3 sec, all mythical creatures just oneshot you. The weapon and armor doesn't matter. There is no "tank" role in this game. So there is just a few ways - even for big groups. Naked marathon. Lure monsters to a ship with heavy firearms. Or just build some DOT there. If building there is allowed.

  5. If I remember it right, the fortitude stat decrease vitamins decay rate. I have fortitude around 30 (because I live in tundra) and feels just fine.

All my vits are around the same state and then when I feel hunger and vits are low all I have to eat is 5 pieces of meat, fish and vegetables from farm, and 25 pieces of berries (it's 3 pieces of prime fish/meat). So I simply forgot about any food planing. Just do meat/fish stock from time to time, there are way enough "yellow" vit-food from just 4 piles of farm and in tundra there are tons "orange" berries around.

    Quote

also Food should decline at a slower rate than thirst.

As far as I understand - when your stamina is restoring, your water and food rate decreasing. And if you overheated (close to central zones) your water rate will decrease far more quickly. If you freezing (northern/southern zones) then your food level will decrease much more.

And I agree - overdose is stupid. I mean... imagine the guy died because he ate to much of beans... : ))

  6. First of all - I'm NOT ASKING FOR HELP WITH IT. I play with just my brother and we resigned to the fact that those POWER STONES are not available to us. At least not the straight way (we actually don't know if we do really need them).

Today I went to golden age ruins at G3. I left all my crafted stuff and ships at base. Just took tiny sloop with swivel and 200 ammo and basic bow with 1000 arrows. My goal was just to look around, maybe lure to the ship and shot some monsters. I thought maybe I'll be able to climb to the ruins roof and kill one epic monster with my bow... (I didn't make it).

I spent couple of hours there.

And here what I noticed. There are tons of monsters 60lvl and higher. There are huge mystical creatures with huge aggro radius. And far from your ship - you just "dead man walking". Unless you find a safe spot. Every animal will kill you in 3 sec. Every mythical creature basically oneshot you. Your weapon and armor doesn't matter (I've tried to shot fire elemental and each my arrow did 3 damage. I have a "blue" bow in my base which is 130% damage so that would be a 4)

So... I just wonder. What it would looks like if I play in big group and we go there together?

I mean. There is no "tank" role in this game right? There is no such a guy who would gather and hold dangerous creatures. There is no healer role to heal "tank" also. So even with a big party - there only one fireball needed to make half of this party do naked run from ships bed.

Is this how DEV guys saw it? Army of naked people running from the ship to their corpses again and again? Naked people lure big monsters to the ship to slain them whit heavy firearms? Or it's just a game where alot of guys try to stuck monsters in textures and shot them from far away?

I mean - I just don't get it. How the big group suppose to handle all crazy stuff happening in golden age ruins?

My journey ended with... well I'll call it EA stuff : ) First - 3 fire elemental just stuck around my corpse. I couldn't lure them out (they just stuck and twitching into the mountains) so I lost my bow and 900 arrows. Then, before I scuttle my sloop I noticed a dragon over a sea. I sailed to him and then... I shoot all my 170 swivel ammo at him. He just staying there and did nothing. There were 4% of health left (I was out of ammo). I went ashore to craft another bow and arrows. I went back. I shoot like 40 arrows at him. He relocate himself after each hit. And then. When he was like 1-2% of health he just despawned : ))

  7. We have our paddock for tames. Here it is:

    bHsGJJt.jpg

I don't know If it built in awful wrong way, but every time I log in after I go offline for a nigh, I start with searching for my horse. Every night she somehow find her way out and then running around the area.

Oh and one more thing. There is a bear in there also. Do you see her? No?

    Let me help.

    Here:

    XaFjq8G.jpg

Any Ideas how to put our tame-bear out from underground? : ))

  8. I was always wondering - why someone might need such a huge space?

I mean - we built our base in Tundra and even I personally feels it's really huge, it's actually smaller then typical player gather lands for himself with foundation.

    ...

the only solution is by making floor foundation to have 0 radius in lawless

I wouldn't be happy about that because we built really cool small town ashore and with 0 radius - anyone will be able to ruin it by troll-type structures.

and have a limit per account character

We have like hundreds on foundation - but all placed 2gether thru our village. We couldn't do all of that with any limits.

    iksZX5V.jpg

    8UO9oZB.jpg

There are few more bases in our island and they are all like that (but only we have a village others have a castle/fort types).

  9. Yeah, we've got a raft in our port, right on the departure route from one of our pier (showing by green arrow). So this raft just canceled our pier.

    iksZX5V.jpg

Guy just came to TUNDRA totally unprepared, without any warm clothes, and in a RAFT WITHOUT a BED! So he just didn't make it to the shore. Died. And never came back. We did clear the shore before. It's PVE server, lawless, and somehow we were able to claim and then scuttle abandoned rafts.

Right now... well... we unable to jump on it, because we start to float over it for eternity. We try to build some foundation around and capture it from the floor but we don't have any menus. Not a decay timer, not anything. Just a raft and that's it.

  10. ...

t's that people don't feel rewarded enough or compelled to finish through to end game

I would say - game DO NOT REWARD players for anything. I mean... I'm 1lvl, in my underwear, I go ashore and being killed by a lvl2 wolf right? After a month I lvl50 with yellow plate armor I go ashore a-a-a-a-and... being killed by a lvl2 wolf.

So what's the point of lvl growing? Yes I can open more structures I can do more "SIMS 2" stuff but... what about adventures? I can spend hours and hours of gathering resources and after that I UPGRADE MY SPEAR and INCREASE IT DAMAGE FROM 26 TO 27!!!!!!!! So much effort and such a great reward right?

    ---

Or like we go this adventures. We spend couple hours to prepare it. We craft some heavy firearms, grenades. Then after couple hours sailing we face army of damned. We throw grenades, shoot all fire arrows, shootgun and all that stuff. And then when we done - we try to dig a treasure and game sais "there are couple of solders left". Ok we search them. Unable to find. Then whole army respawn. AND WE DEAL WITH THIS ARMY WITHOUT ANY GRENADES, FLAME ARROWS ETC! Just whit spears. So what's the point of preparing? Why we wasted few hours? We could just set sails and go...

    ---

And yet... you can easily loose everything. All stuff you have been creating for a week or even months.

None of your equipment, leveling, diligence, not a single hour you spent in a game! Nothing will help you to keep your stuff safe. Just a single alpha animal spawns at you, or suddenly 15-20 vultures came while you fighting army of damned (this happened yesterday), SoD camping border... I mean there are hundreds ways to loose it (I say nothing about glitches and internet issues but yet I lost everything to that couple of times) and I see not a single way to safe it.

So... I mean. I can spend next couple of weeks to create all I lost. And after I'll loose it again... well maybe I wont feel I ready to spend few weeks more to do what I've done twice...

    ---

At start... I couldn't connect freeport due to 155 players there. Right now I see like 5-7 players connected there. There are more players now I my base's region in tundra then somewhere south.

  11. I can tell about "O" on the ship.

You can craft wall hooks and attach them to almost any surface. It has it's own 1 slot inventory and you can put there a torch or lantern (you can also use dye on lantern to change it's collor) and then light it up. You need to do it manually - each light you created this way (it's cool in first and then so annoying - running thru your base and switch on/off  all lights one after another).

BUT If you attach hooks with torches/lanterns to a ship surfaces (floor, planks, masts, pillars, walls etc) you then can switch on/off all lights by using steering wheel/podium and press "O" from there (sometimes they light up by pressing "O" twice).

    BEomhkF.jpg

On a picture above - there are 2 hooks down the ship on first and third masts. There are torches in there. And 3 hook on the top of masts with lanterns colored by orange dye.

  12. Two stories here : ))

    1) - We built our base. All houses, did farm and taming place. Did several treasure hunting and then crafted all yellow stuff we carry. Destroyed few SoDs. So... I guess we passed all solo (small company) content. Just no more reasons to log in. Only for few minutes - got the food for crew on ship and tames and refresh decay timers on lawless.

    2) - The guy from our company spent a couple of weeks - crafting all rare stuff gathering resources all over the world (especially this keratinoid - from gian ants which spawns so rarely so he spent like 4 hours to gather 100 of this resource (and he needed like 500 lol). Then in a usual walk - he just got his internet connection lost for a 20 minutes. When he rejoined - he was dead and all his stuff - just gone. He spent like few weeks more to do the same hi already done (mindless resources farming) and got almost all new stuff. Accdentally jumped into a raft parked in our port. After he used a hook (he thought he might escape non ally raft with glider, hook or climbing picks) he had a game crush. And we all saw he died on a raft and hes corpse just flied away to the skies.

    So again he lost all.

And he quit. Just because he didn't want to spend another week of resources farming and do what he already done for two times. Because it just booring and to spent half of a month with NO PROGRESS at all... just not cool.

Dev must do something with loosing stuff. I know this is SURVIVAL GAME and loosing all - the part of it's adventure. But... I mean who will be glad to spend a week do something then start over. One more week of doing the same. Then start over - the same. Then start over... and after a months of playing find himself RIGHT ON THE POINT WHERE WE WAS STARTED...

It's like U play Diablo, got thru 1st act, then d delete your hero, play new one the same role - got thru 1st act, delete, got same hero again, got thru 1st act... delete... I know NO PLAYERS doing (and possible enjoying) this.

  13. We got one guy traveled to our region. It's tundra. He came there in a raft WITH NO BED! The time he made it to a shore - he died of cold. And because there was no bed - he is gone for ever. We never see him again.

The problem here is - he parked his raft right in the middle of our port. Right on the way where one of our schooner did turnouts for departure. So... he just cancel one of our pier and his raft still here like for the week or so. We don't know what to do with it.

One of our guy took glider, hook and climbing pick (something might have worked for escape) and jumped on it. After he used hook - the game crashed, he died and his corpse flew far away in the skies. So he lost all his stuff he was made after a weeks of resources hunt (after that he quit a game and uninstal it).

  14. Fog + cyclones - are not big deal compare to cyclones + coldwave in tundra. It's like - you need to sail your ship, SoDs are arround and in a mean time you can just die of cold behind the steering wheel and if you go solo - your ship will lower sail and stop then : ))

IMAO - there MUST NOT be raining and tornado in tundra/arctic areas. Imagine -27'C and... RAIN? What kind of rain It is? I setteled in tundra and since then I really wish to see peaceful fluffy snowfalls there. I mean there might be a dangers in northern/southern seas. Like random icebergs for example. But tornadoes are in the middle.

p.s. - I see tornadoes in our tundra like 1-2 times a day. But when I went to nearest high desert zone - I spent there whole a week (in-game week), farming resources. And never see a tiny one rain at all.

So is it still worth sailing to G3,im kinda far away?

Some say it's the best way to do it just to leave your stuff into base. Die and respawn in home region which is close to FoY (for G3 is I3 western island) get there a stone pick, axe and spear. Buy ramshacke put bed in there and go for a youth. When you done - just sink your sloop and respawn at your base. So no need to cross half atlas for that.

  16. Just got my on G3.

But when I arrived I wonder. When DEVS came up with this aging ideas and fountan of youth, how did they see it? Did they see this picture of hundreds abandoned ramshackes covered whole shore and then naked 90years old people runs to a cave trying to avoid as many enemies they can?

Small trick - next time you have such big payload - give all to one player, second is running between you and ship 🙂 Works like a charm and makes that way way easier than this slow walk.

We use game exploit (or maybe I I shouldn't call it that). Equip spear and use tertiary attack (by default is  mouse scroll up). This is a charge attack and no matter how hard player overloaded he do charge : ))
