  1. I was on my way back to base... I pushed thru SotDs, they damaged my sails. So my ship was on full speed, with tail wind. I went top deck to repair sails, hit my repair hammer and...

...next second I found myself deep into ocean, seeing my ship chasing away, lowering sails. Wile I was on my swim back I saw SotD goes by to attack my ship:

    Xi6r4Dl.jpg

    Then I finally get there.

I climbed rear ladder. Fell down to the ocean.

I climbed again. Fell down to the ocean.

I climbed again. Fell down to the ocean.

I climbed again. Fell down to the ocean.

I climbed again. Fell down to the ocean.

I climbed again. Fell down to the ocean.

I climbed again. Fell down to the ocean.

I climbed again. Fell down to the ocean.

I swam to another ladder, and finally get to deck. One plank was missing, my ship was sinking. I raised sails to full speed to get away from open fire. I looked back. I certainly should get away ASAP:

    aVgvRIX.jpg

Then I went down to replace my missing plank, because my ship was still sinking. And guess what happened next?

I FOUND MYSELF DEEP IN TO OCEAN WATCHING MY SHIP CHASING AWAY LOWERING SAILS.

This story has it's happy end. Thx for 160% sturdiness and my -40% sinking speed in captaining. But... well. Any1 else could easily lost their ship. Just because they took a step on the deck and next moment found themselves into the ocean.

(my guessing - it somehow connected to high waves. When there is a wave that above you, no matter if you staying on deck, or in hold, or climbing a ladder - the game put you into waters).

  2. You know what's weird?

There were a lot of messages in forum, ppl were saying: "you go clear the area and there wont be that much of SotD's around".

Yesterday I was on my hunting raid, I devastated for like 15-20 SotD's near northern border of my island. And guess what? Today I sail there and immediately saw 7 more SotD's doing their purposeless circles. So I guess an idea of "clearing the area" don't work, right? Or I did something wrong? Or it's a 24/7 job? Or maybe they spawn in one day per week (the night from Tuesday to Wednesday for example?)

And one more thing. The first I started hunt them, it was fun. I started to gather blueprints. I got all green and then blue ones... so now, I just don't understand why I wanna fight low lvl SotD? They will give me some BP's I'll throw away right at the moment I've got them. Tiny amount of gold (I have like 5k in my ship and 10k on the ground). Some ammunition to a guns no one can even build in my company... So right now It's just totally waste of time and cannonballs... (and time it took me to create those cannonballs).

And yet - most of them are those low lvl around. For me it's like I kill 20-30 green ones, 5-6 yellow and 1 red... So there is just 3-4 high lvl blueprints per 30 SotD's and not necessary those BPs will be useful (Like I've got yesterday purple Swivel with 117% of damage (from red SotD 28 lvl). Yet I already have blue Swivel with 137% damage... and I've got like 3-4 purple Puckles - the gun no one can even build...)

  3. That would be some dedication to just demolishing a random lighthouse, tho.

Yup. See my message above. Russian guys sail by my island, they stopped their Galley, went ashore, climb a walls just to demolish my lighthouse. Then they back to their vessel and continue their voyage...

  4. Yesterday I was on hunting mission to clear the area a bit and there were like 5-6 at the same time (and mostly all greens!) So the picture the same - if some1 clear the area, then there are few around. If not... well...

  5. Is that possible to put lighthose on top of hand made building?

Yup. The lighthouse is a bit less then 16 x 16 foundation and you need 1 xtra each side so it basically it's 18 x 18.

    Mxj3F2A.jpg

There is a glider tho... so any1 could fly from closest mountain.

  6. - Add a button to a storage, that UNITE all same stuff to a stack.

(for example, your crew eats meat from Mess Table and they take 1 piece of meat from each stack you have there. After a while you get like 10 stacks of meat with 3 pieces each stack. One button to unite all them to just one stack would be great).

    - Oh and... some civil human beings NPCs at least on some islands would be really nice (not sure how to do that tho... maybe some travelers with random camps or... even small villages).

    Quote

Would be nice, if from the captain's wheel you had a speed indicator and depth indicator.

    ...and % of opening sails...

Cannons should only snap into cannon ports...

IMAO they should. But there also should be a stern/nose/top deck's gunports in the game. I personally hate those unreal ugly lovers designs, and never build one. But in my experience all games allowing ppl to create their own designs are get there - players just find most efficient way to create things, put them to the guides and that's it.

So if ppl find that's fun and best way to do like that:

    OSQXs1u.jpg

...they just do. The question is - did DEVs see things going to be like that? : )

  8. - Make ladders always allow you to climb them by hitting "E"! And keep always "Hold E" for all other actions like demolish, extend, retract etc.

    - Fix "Forest" color dye. It doesn't work (and never was).

    - Fix "Demolition allowed" to Lighthouses in Lawless. Right now it's "Decay time 02:00:00:00" and "demolition allowed" at the same time.

    - Add a "players in region" somewhere so any1 could see - who is on your gird, what company he belongs to and where is he right now (island/open seas?)

    - Add "group gathering" feature so any1 could "join the party" and head to groups adventures like golden age, kraken, high SotD's hunting, treasure etc.

    - REMOVE RAINS from Tundra/Polar. At least when temperature is below zero. Right now you can see -27'C and RAIN? What kind of rain is that?

    - Peaceful fluffy snowfall and heavy snowstorms in Tundra/Polar would be nice tho...

    - I wish to see st. Elmo's fire before thunderstorms and rainbow after a rain. Falling stars would be nice too.

    - What if you find all discoveries in a grid and then you get info about all resources you can find there?

...a-a-a-a-a-and... (some1 will probably hate me for that).

    - Add stern, nose and open deck gunport and limit guns placement to just gunports : )

  9. When you ask for a "filter", maybe you want as a next step full automatic gathering?

Of course not, but to gather for like 5000 berries just to throw them out - is so much waste of nature and time!

But it doesnt take long to use the search function and drop all feature.

Yeah. That's a good advice. I'll use it.

  10. I mean... I ride a bear, go for a fibers (it's cotton in Tundra) and when my bear start to swipe his paws he gather cotton, all berries, potatoes, garlic, some greens, some saps, some seeds... (usually it's like 100 fibers and more than 2000 all other resources).

    TbMCHJw.jpg

...after that I'm staying near my bear for couple of minutes and throwing away from his inventory all THOUSANDS of berries,  saps and other stuff I totally don't need at this moment.

So I guess it could be a good idea to be able to choice - what type of resources you want this time. Will that we just fibers, just saps, berries, or everything? (Or there is a way to do it right now?)

  11. When there are many objects and especially ships around - all rendering really slow. I once move along on island in equatorial lawless, and then my ship suddenly stopped, and no matter how I tried, didn't move and turn anywhere. After 3-4 minutes, large shipyard appeared around my boat. It turned out I sailed right into it. After all finally rendered I saw for like 15-20 shipyards, 70-100 boats around and huge castles in a shore... (and no civil life - I didn't meet any human being there : ))

  12. We did so many messages about that latelly. This bug is more then month with us and so far DEVs didn't do (or say) anything about that.

I covered my lighthouse's bottom with walls... My idea was, random players run by, see this "demolition allowed" sign, go there and do it. While with walls they need a climbing picks, and maybe they to lazy to go get those picks, or just don't wanna climb walls etc. But... well... 3rd day of my 3rd Lighthouse I saw one Russian galley with 3 guys came buy. They parked in one of our guest piers, go ashore, run to Lighthouse, destroyed it, then run back to their Galley and departure.

I'm not sure if they have any reward for that (resources maybe?)

Cool screen I took before that:

    DLMzEK9.jpg

Second Lighthouse lasts for 8 days... that was a record : ))

  13. Blueprints aren't useless, they are totally random I know but the only point of destroying sotd is for bps and high lvl npcs which cost less gold,

Yeah personally feels this way also. Just got a journeyman cannon bp and each shot does around 1900 damage so I basically increased my alpha dmg output from 9 500 to 15 000. I just write all that ppl usually write in this forum.

And for metal gathering, I live close to polar region so 1 trip... 20k

I'm from Tundra and there are just 3 iron spawns in my whole island : ) So I have to gather it every available time or gather as many resources as I can in my travles : )

I do not want 100 ships of the damned around my island!

The DEVs idea was - ppl would go and clear the area, and there will be calm safety waters. The problem here - about nobody just taking care of SotDs. And there are many reasons.

    - PPL don't know if they able to do it solo/couple ppl.

    - PPL don't know if they able to do it by just usual Brig.

    - PPL don't know if they wanna build ugly louvers design vessel with stern-shotgun and do all that kiting tactic shown by youtube.

    - ...if they wanna spend a time to gather resources for guns, ammunition and repairs, then farm a gold somehow, then go freeport to hire crew, then do a lot of food farming for crew...

    - ...if they wanna put a lot of points in to captaining skill-tree?

    - ...after all - if they wanna risk to loose their beloved Brig.

And main reason - FOR WHAT? FOR SOME USELESS BLUEPRINTS, COUPLE OF CANNONBALLS AND 18 GOLD? For clear safety water around, maybe? Well you can't put those clean safety waters into your pocket right? : )

So most of players fells it doesn't worth just consider fighting them.

Yet - it my experience. 11 ppl of crew takes for about 90-100 gold per real life day. Usual Brig with 6 gunport cannons and 2 addition deck cannons can handle any usual SotD (up for red 30 lvl... not those high lvl in golden age). No tactic - just sail by, shoot, turn around, repeat. With 150 sturdiness and all reduce sinking buff in captaining - you can fight till enemy down with plank or two - missing. Then without any rush - go and repair your ship.

Here is my. Took for like 50 SotDs with it already. See the new plank there? I fought with lvl 9 and lvl 14 the same time. I sank them then went to put new gunport.

    Qkjdwut.jpg

Reward is the question tho... you must do alot metal gathering for cannonballs, and all other resources for repairs, but mostly you get a clean waters around and that's it. Well it's also fun in some way... but that's it.

I can not sail! South wind only 3 days.

The wind here NOT RANDOM. It just slowly rotate it's direction clockwise and a bit faster in storms, then go back to where it was before storm. So you can plan your own travel. Usually - if you go far with tail wind, then you do all business there wind will rotate, and you go back with tail wind too. If you do counterwind - you go back with it as well.

    And yeah - it's global.

  15. You know what's really weird here (IMAO)?

I do a lot of traveling and each island I see the same picture. I see huge bases - fortresses, walls, gates, houses (no one build a villages like we did btw). Like hundreds ships (especially in equatorial zones and near). Hundreds shipyards with ships buildings there. And... just wild fauna walking around. Not a single human being. Ghost towns, ghost fortresses, empty ships stays anchored for ever.

I do not see any civil life happening anywhere. As if I would get to The Langoliers book written by Stephen King : ))

Not sure how DEVs saw the picture before their EA release but... right now, it really sad : ))

In rush hour our I2 server have like 12 ppl connected. Typical online is 5 ppl.

  16. - Pressing "S" while using steering wheel will lower sails and after they low - ship slowly goes backward. It's really slow but still the way go get out some terrain traps or parking.

    - Craft wall hooks. Attach them to any surface on land, put torches/lanterns there. Craft and put somewhere a lever. Set the same pin code to lever and hooks. Now lever control all light on hooks with same pin code. You can do the same to ship surfaces but no lever needed. Just press "O" while on steering wheel to control boat's lights.
