  1. Cargo racks cause a big hit to sailing speed. Up to 40% speed debuff at max, even if they are empty. They need to be changed otherwise worthless.

Imagine having cargo racks and sailing in the late evening with 2mph wind lol.

Not to mention, who wants to sail with a 40% debuff on the PvP servers???

  2. Wow, this is going to be completely pointless on ships. No one will use them. The speed nerfs need to be taken away.

And did I read that right? The containers on land can only hold 2000kg? My bear's weight capacity is 4000, why would I even bother with the cargo rack?

Great ideas, badly implemented... Hoping they change both the land containers and ship containers, otherwise, no one is going to use them.

  3. If they wanted to incentivize making companies smaller, they should charge gold upkeep for players that scales with the company size.

    1-5 : No upkeep

    6-10: 10g/player

    11-15: (10g/player)*1.2

    15-20: (10g/player)*1.5

    etc...

Numbers are pulled from my ass for illustration.

  4. I assume you mean cheating as exploiting game mechanics to give an unfair advantage. Character wipe and wipe all duped/exploited items.

If you are referring to cheating as hacking, permanent ban.

You should clarify because cheating generally means hacking, not exploiting.

    This thread sucks dick.

  5. I honestly like the sailing in this game. I do a lot of trade runs.

    BUT.

The afternoon wind slowdown is brutal.I don't mind alternating winds, but when that hits, boom, 30 minutes or more to cross a tile. And it lasts for an entire zone. They need to look at this and make it not quite so slow. I can swim faster than the ship... It is absolutely mind numbing.

What they should do is make jet streams across the map, like how it is in real life. I don't think it needs to be overcomplicated with tons of vortexes, but generally, the wind should go the same direction with different jet streams depending on the hemisphere, poles, etc. Then the weather effects can temporarily change the wind direction, like it does now.

    @Jatheish, make it so. :)

The game was already softened quite a bit.  Now people want to soften it more.  Its gota stop somewhere before its just PvE.

Planking ships defended only by NPCs IS the very definition of PvE.

It's better with the raid windows, much better. But they can still improve the system.

The BP type has no bearing on the max levels for your ship.  Its all about the durability.  A 180% Legendary will give you the same amount of levels a 180% Mythical will.  It just so happens that the higher quality BP's tend to have better durability, but as I am sure you are well aware that is not always the case.  RNG for the win.

Also if that many levels were added.....my god.  I'd build a ship with 200% cannons and pump every level into damage.  500% damage.  Ouch.

Has it been confirmed that it was just the durability that affected the levels? Last I saw, mythical gave 10 levels, no matter the durability.

you talking to me moron? Let me tell my painful story then. I actually claimed an island by myself for 76 gold for 12 hours and managed to keep it for a week or so to save my ship there when i was  going to work. it was perfectly close to a freeport so that i could keep my ship in the freeport over the night when i sleep and drive it over to my island in 10 min in the morning to save my ship for the 11 hours i spend to pay my landlord in fucking real life. but then someone came in the night in combat phase and just claimed it away from me in 2 hours.

So i tried to be a humble settler at an island which had the almost perfect peace time for me (one of the very few of the hundreds of island) and it was ok for the people who owned it for a while. But then they decided otherwise for some reason and simply killed me in peace time without a warning.

So it is simple as that if they dont change it i cant play this game anymore

We're looking for a few settlers for our island. If you are interested, PM me. We have a grid alliance as well and are on good terms with about everyone in nearby zones.

I think the op is talking about staying solo but creating a company to track stuff better through logs, etc.

i am not sure about keeping ownership of structures but I think you should be fine.

I will share my experience of creating a company while claiming an island though. After sailing around on launch and collecting the gold to claim and dropping a flag, I decided to go ahead and create my company while I waited. This caused the claim flag to go bye bye and my gold to be lost. I had 20 mins left on the claim, very frustrating. By the time I re-collected all the gold someone else was claiming the island and I had to go elsewhere. Long story short, I ended up getting the island back though when the other owners went to a private server.

There's a governance setting for structures to be personally owned instead of company owned, but it probably only applies to structures built after joining/creating the company and changing the setting. That should theoretically allow you to keep your structures, but I have not tested it.

  10. I haven't seen any response to the bug report threads, so I figured I would post it over here and tag @Jatheish and @Dollie.

The servers are getting stuck in a load loop. Occasionally it will load in, but the character will be bugged, no inventory, no hotbar. After about 5 minutes, Battleye will kick as non-responsive. This has been happening since yesterday morning and seem to be affecting quite a few people. I know the people that I play with, or allies in the same areas are all affected, so could be server specific.

One of the bug report threads here:

Costs 1248 gold per 24 hours.

Then you should stop whining about it. You made the choice to take a large island. There are many other islands that are much more manageable for a small group. If you want a big island like the large companies have, grind more or recruit more members. Don't whine on the forums about your bad decisions.

I know this may sound taxingly obvious, but, who of you go hunting gold?   We're a band of 3 at the moment to, and we try to sync up on green maps.  I keep finding between 300 to 600 gold maps everywhere.. so I can see the 200g fee a bit steep.   If you can do what we do....

One person sails off to the map location, calls out to everyone else...  when ready, everyone just idles with you whilst you kill the skellies, and when you pick up the treasure EVERYONE will duplicate that gold find.  So, solo, your gold will be 350g, with your two friends taking a couple of minutes out of their schedule and popping over via the bed in the ship can come with you to the treasure, and they will each get 350g...  that's 1050g, they can give you the gold, and sod off back in to the bed either and carry on what they're doing.   Do that a few times with green maps in and around the same area and well, you'll end up with ~3000g  minimal effort on their part, and you get 3x more.

If you're all in the same company, it makes sense.

Well, it splits the gold between people present. So your argument is invalid.
