I'm excited for the wipe and new claim system. I'm not even gonna try to be a landlord lol. After everything i experienced owning my own island since day one, i dont think i wanna put myself through that pain again. I want to be able to sleep and not feel bad lmaooo. Instead, i'm gonna start a fighters guild where any company can participate. I'm gonna build a gladiator arena on every majorly populated island that will let me build there. I'm gonna host a discord where anyone can set up fights and live betting. Check this out.

When your entire Company quit playing Atlas because they dont feel like playing befor wipe but you're the last one still playing.

i see off hour players switching servers, na to eu and vice versa. which will be great for 9-5 people, but people like me that work from home when they want, my hours are fucked. 

honestly, i give up defending the devs decisions or claim to think i know what is happening at all, until we see some real results. It's great to talk about shit but the first major update was planned in january for V17 to come out in late feb. Here we are mid march, v21.31.. still no major update or test server after constant delays and excuses. They killed the population by announcing a wipe prematurely and let the game die. i don't even have faith anymore... and i'm a gullible bastard.

Just like the gladiator pits of Rome, the arena has an undercroft where gladiators can get ready and wait for their turn to fight. Also for storing tames for potential battle scenarios. 

About 70 available seating. It takes up 14x12 foundation squares. +24 for the front patio. 

Would also make an awesome town meeting area.

Would look great in stone.

I would like to start a Dueling/fighting network on NA PVP. With the new changes and wipe planned where you can build on anyone's island, i think a dueling group/network would actually work as player towns with trading networks will actually be a thing. This would also bring a healthy amount of people to your island and they might be more willing to buy stuff from your vendors.

 So, if you're interested in helping me make this happen or you and your group are planning on grabbing an island day one of the wipe and would like to plan ahead what your town layout is going to look like, feel free to talk about it on this thread and hit me up on discord. Enki#8934

::What it means to be in the Fight Club::
I intend to build a gladiator pits/arena on every well populated island that wants to join the network, so you'll need to put aside a suitably located large plot for the build hopefully the center of your town.
Large groups get first dibs for the builds.
It will be unlocked and open to the public and everyone can use it, unless an event is going on.
it will look fancy AF and will be built like a stadium with available seating all around the fight pits for onlookers to watch the fights.
Every island with an arena built, the landlord can put their name in the hat if they want their island to host the next big fight or tournament.
Betting against your opponent or just as a watcher can be an option and we can work out a method. Winners of the fight will get a percentage.
there will be a dedicated discord for events, to set up fights and place bets live.


So what do you think? You want in? What are your thoughts to make this awesome?

Do you want to be the next joe rogan? I'd like someone to record and do commentary. Perhaps upload fights to youtube and twitch.

Ok, so its been a while since i tried doing this, but has anyone successfully managed to parry another players attack with a sword? I used to challenge everyone to came to my island to a duel or skirmish with my company in my homemade duel arena or we'd blow up their boat.. Every time i tried, me and the guys i tried with, found parrying to be a dead skill. The jumping side to side and back and forth by double tapping directionals, was very fun and made for some interesting duels tho.

Id love to see more cool ways to implement melee combat. Would love to see combos being added to the game.

Id love to see FANCY thrones added to the game, not just regular chairs.

I'd love to see duel arena or fight pits added to the game as well, like specific areas where people can go to find like minded duelists and maybe even bet stuff

Heres some pics of the arena. it was actually a cool place to chill, host meetings and practice fighting with the alliance too. Now that i look back, i could have started something on a lawless island and probably spread the word enough to make dueling a thing. Probably what i'm gonna do after the wipe.

should really just put a cap on on how many large cannons can be put on a boat per ship size class

yeah... the mini game is lame. the wait time to load is annoying enough 

yall act like PC is gonna be the only platform this game will be on after completion. the game will go on, with or without your participation. other platforms will probably have more players online at one time compared to pc so ironing out the issues now, while it's primarily on pc, is imperative. And lets be real, chinese player cafe's, mega tribes and mega tribes alliance with other mega tribes are not really gonna be a thing  on other platforms.

Go for the win, not the participation trophy. give credit, where credit is due.
 

there's bustling private servers. the most populated one is a RP server with a lot of fun people and awesome builds. I wish atlas had the customization that conan has with the decorative stuff. i like the banners, curtains, plates and goblets , different type of fires, candles and so much more stuff... man... i'm a pvp guy and i love that shit. I bet it was hella interesting walking threw my crib for the dudes that wiped me last time on conan. the decor was on point. especially the dungeon. looked like an illuminati death/sex magic ritual  lulz

What kind of pirate simulator don't have a brothel!? i wouldn't mind shaking my booty for some booty. It's the oldest occupation, ya know what im sayin? Need some new dances and a craftable stripper pole. Need a 'throw coin' emote.

man i don't even care if they wipe. I just want shit to get fixed so we can get this party rolling. like no shit, its EA, games not done. we get it. shouldn't have announced the wipe until you actually had a solid date. hell don't even announce anything until it's time to release the kraken. there's a reason why the international space objects collision coalition does not announce that asteroids are about to hit until the week of.  they don't want people to start panickinging and not working in case they're wrong about the time or if it will even happen. 

i just want them to start releasing the test server so i can break the shit out of the game and expose the problems before it makes a problem in the official server.

lets get some shit done.

Ill rather have a few pillars around rather than a Island imune to pvp so people go grief, make enemys, then crawl back to their safe spot that no one can do something back.

When people say "everyone" it's usually a generalisation to affirm the majority. Kinda like saying "this is why people leave".. it affirms the majority. Which really did leave...which makes you and I the minority... that which stayed. (i really did leave about a month and a half ago, but i love what this game could be and have faith in the devs will make it great.)

anyways, back to the actual subject, pillar spam. its toxic. lawless is supposed to be a launching pad to go and take your own land. Pillar spam kills it for anyone who needs to do the same. which is what happened to me, my island got wiped and i had to start over again and had to search many lawless islands for a spot to build a simple dock. thats fucked and i shouldn't have to do that. that's how i even know "everyone" gets pissed at the pillar spam, except the minority, that use the pillar spam to "claim" a lawless island... making it into a claimed island that can't be contested by unseating a flag. 

lmao thats hilarious... i suspect a by product of not being able to set up shop in game because all the islands are claimed, even lawless with ppl's pillar spam... But i get what youre saying... i wouldn't mind locking freeport servers with a red wall if in combat. maybe a 30- 45 sec  battle timer from when your ship takes damage or you fire a cannon.

And i rather quit paying than giving away 30% of my grind to another tribe, this game is grindy enough as it is. 

thats why im gonna document and break every aspect of the game that i can when im using the test server. then im gonna talk about it. i invite you to do the same. i believe the devs will take positive actions. 

Honestly i wish they would just release the got damn test server and get it over with so we can get shit done.

We have been living in a lawless zone since week 3-4. No one have managed to raid us yet. We have no build restriction on our Island since there is no flags

yeah i'm really surprised they didn't have a test server since the very beginning. seems crazy to me lol

i mean, it would be a good idea. thing is tho, it would have to be a seperate account with no rights to build or fight, almost like being a ghost, and heavily monitored by staff, in order to avoid those accounts being used nefariously. i'd be up to helping other players in that capacity.

ya know, i thought the same thing when i first heard of the wild west game. but then i actually did some research and confronted jat. he confirmed, they are not working on another game. theres other posts on the subject from a month ago, but they died becuase it was proven complete bullshit, just like this OP.
