So... Anyone else notice that destroyallenemies not only destroys all enemies but also pets and rafts? At least that's what's happened to me just now. I guess I should be glad it's only been a chicken and a raft, but I sure won't use that command again. 😄

Yep, learned that the hard way.  Was running a private server and hadn't joined the company with my friends yet.  Rang destroyallenemies (with none of them online, thinking it was safe) and wiped out all their ships.  destroywilddinos was the trick.

Anyone know if there is a command that destroys just ships of the damned or ghost ships?

  2. In the Game.ini file (found in \ShooterGame\Saved\<servername>\Config\WindowsServer for each server instance) you'll want something like this:

I don't know what the default numebers are, but the below will grant more skill points per level up to level 75.  You need to have 1 line per level available to the players.  I think right now the level is capped below 75 so this gives you some buffer, but the key is to remember that these settings "override" the default amount of points you would get each time you level.  So if you only do 5 lines, you'll only get a different amount the first few lines.

  3. Can anyone tell me what the .atlas files are in the server Saved folder like C:\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved\01.  I am running a 3x3 grid and one of my servers is not spinning up.  I noticed in the Saved folder for it all the .atlas files are over 350MB, but that grid has never actually been visited by anyone.  But the grids that have people living on them and building the saved folder only has .atlas files of like 10-15MB.  Curious if maybe the file size is indicative of something corrupted in that Save and if I should start it over.

If I want to wipe a grid, can I just rename the Saved folder and let it recreate based on the ServerGrid.json file?  Is that the easiest way to wipe a grid or will I have issues with the redis database too and have to mess with stuff there?

So I have been spending most of my time gathering and crafting for my company. I am getting levels but I hear people talking about doing maps or killing alphas and getting a level or two from each one and surging through the levels. I am really not much for combat I prefer doing the support role but feel I am being punished for not doing the meta of maps and alphas to quickly level. Why doesn't crafting give XP and why does gathering give so little for so much effort? I don't necessarily think maps and alphas need to be drastically nerfed, maybe a bit but I also feel like I am doing a lot more effort for not as much reward.

I was just talking to some folks about crafting xp being really low.  I think with the speed at which you get skillpoints and rewarding people spreading out their skillsets support efforts should get a bump to xp.

Anyone know if there is a server modifier for crafting XP?  I see a GenericXP and KillXP multiplier, but not crafting.

    Sorry to hear that.

Have you update your server since last night? they had... a mishap.. with client at v9.x and servers at 8.x i wasnt able to connect even though i could find it, until i updated it.

I did update it but haven't tried connecting locally since then.  I have some changes to make to the game settings and will be updating later today and planned to test again then.  Damn real job has been keeping me busy today so I haven't been able to play with the changes much today 😃

    3. dose it matter how far island are away from each other to make sure animals spawn right

I don't think island proximity matters for animal spawns

    4. my friend rents a 2x2 server and we wanted set up home spawn on each server grid how do we do that

I think when you edit the map with the island editor you can select "homeserver" checkbox in the lower left.  You Ctrl+click the grid open space (not over an island) and the properties window should have a checkbox for "homeserver"

Ye, Atlas does not support local connection as of now. Only work around is to use NAT reflection / loopback, but majority of todays routers does not support this and have this hardcoded disabled as enabling this is a major security risk.

So in short, if your router dont support NAT reflections / loopback, you gonna need to host the server on a remote server outside your network.

I can confirm this.  I've done everything that others have done that worked for them, but my router doesn't allow the loopback.  Best bet is to make it publicly accessible, password protect and run a VPN to connect to it.  I can send you some info on a VPN that is free if you are interested in that route.  I have a 9-grid server running at my house that I was never able to access while everyone outside my network could, so that was the route I went until they added some official support.

Frankly, it seems like the loopback workaround shouldn't be necessary. Out of fairness, I realize this is in early access.

Agreed.  Especially since they had a fix for this in Ark.  I have to think it has something to do with with SeamlessIP and how grids are linked.  Something to do with the public IP being hardcoded or something... I dunno.  Bummed either way.  I'll just keep playing on official while I wait to be able to play with my friends on my own server.

  9. So @Teach, I set up a new server to test with using your instructions.  The other one you chimed in on in the other thread was created after watching @cpjet64's Youtube video and modifying the map to a 3x3 grid (server works great for everyone except me on the LAN).  (CPJet64, for reference I'm trying to set up a server on my LAN for remote and LAN access.  So far everything is great from outside my house but I can't get my gaming PC to connect to it locally).

This new server is a 1x1.  I built it using the 1x1 from the Maps folder that CPJet64 made available in his download links (your dropbox link isn't working so I used that as a starting point).  I followed your steps configured servergrid.json with the private IP and removed seamlessip from the startup bat file. I see it in the Steam Favorites but connection attempt fails with "Unable to query server info for invite".  I was hoping even though that would break public access I would at least have a private connection but no dice.

I set it up the way my other server is with public IP in the servergrid.json, seamlessIP in the startup bat as well as multihome in the startup bat and same result.  I tried setting up a loopback NAT and that's not working either.

In almost every configuration I don't see the server on the in-game browser, I see it in the Steam Favorites where I've added it by internal IP and I always get the same "Unable to query server info for invite" issue.  Whether I use private IP, public IP, seamless IP...

Part of me thinks maybe something is up with the port forwarding but other players can consistently connect to my server.  I can port query the game query ports and seamless ports, but the game ports don't respond (I think that's normal).  So that makes me think the "query server info for invite" is not an issue with my query ports not being open. Agree?

Aside from buying a high end router and redoing my home network, I'm running out of ideas.  I don't get why I could host an Ark server with the multihome setting but it doesn't work in Atlas.  I keep thinking it's something with the hairpinning but losing my mind over not being able to work around that no matter what I do.
