Swivel also has cannister shot. We've building some of each (gatling, swivel with grape and cannister) to test that spread and damage vs creatures tonight.

The hope is 2 swivels + cannister will keep the ships fairly safe from giant murder crocs.  Hopefully alphas too but we'll see.

How did it go? We also have croc problems all the damned time

  2. Enemy should not count as crew, simple as that because they are enemies not crew!

An overweight ship should be unable to move. The reason i say this is because if you wanted you could remove someone from your company and ferry them with massive amounts of resources. This would cause griefers to be unable to sink your boat.

AI crew should be able to pickup and remove unwanted players from boats automatically in freeport or attack them if they are not in freeport to stop players being able to get on but not be removed.

Regardless of what's done with claims, there will never be enough land for everyone.  The fact that you need land claims to progress is what needs to change.  There needs to be a way to acquire ships without land claims.  Then you don't need land to call home, because you have a floating home base. (The fact it's more worthwhile to sink a ship vs disabling it in a damn pirate game is another topic)

Why aren't land owners able to sell ships, or allow access to their shipyards?

I have zero incentive to let the dozens of folks in chat everyday asking for claims use my small shipyard that's collecting dust.  Only way to let that happen is to invite them into my company.  But the bank doesn't tax company members; so all I'd be doing is inviting people to take my resource spawns.  No thanks.  Keep sailing you miserable retches. (And we only have two land claims btw; one with our base and one with resources)

Pirates weren't land Baron's while their 3rd Galleon sat in their harbor.  They lived on their ships.  Make it easier for players to actually use all the ocean space on this ridiculously empty waterworld map.

Me and my group (4 of us) have no land, we just sail the seas and our boats are our bases. The only time we build any structure on land is for the shipyard alone. After which we put everything in and sail it out after like 10 minutes. So having land isnt exactly a big issue, just finding a big enough spot to slap the boatyard down is.

I do agree though that it would be cool if you could rent out your boatyards as this would hopefully help minimkse the clutter of them.

There is plenty of space in the sea but my biggest fear is letting the AI try to solo any ship of the damned that decide to show up.

Also until players can no longer sink a ship by weighing it down with a sleeping body i think it will be difficult.

Trading will never happen in this game, not possible. Only high end stuff that nobody will care about eventually.

We have people trading at our freeport a lot of the time. And currently it is with low end stuff. Some groups were coming with salt and people were going nuts for it, the funny part is the islands with it are closeby XD

That is with lvl cap right now, with 100 lvls and even more points per lvl imagine that everyone can unlock everything, it reduces the amount of possible trade goods significantly like no transporting cannons, ship mart, guns etc, just some very few materials.

You are forgetting if they add more stuff to learn it will stretch it out. The games only been out for 3 weeks. Tarot is unavailable and no doubt other boats etc will become available and many other things

  5. When yoh said shipyard and it not being possibke in two days i was about ready to call you out because it takes like 5 minutes.... but that... no that is something else entirely. The amount of resources there are insane! I mean ok stone is abundant but to do all of tbat you would need a hell of a llt of people or like we all know the bad joojoo that they use. I mean ill give them a hats off to the sheer size. But seriously. Hackers are everywhere at the moment.

  6. Eish my internet is not that good, but any time i drop frames in atlas, i can see the ping on discord go to red. And it is almost always in sync, sometimes discord does jht go red to make me sound like an idiot during an important comeback speech XD. But seriously it does seem to eat my bandwidth

  7. Has anyone else noticed that their game seems to use up an intense amount of bandwidth compared to any other multiplayer game? At the rate it is going It will reach 100gb before the end of the month. Is this why I have been lagging on Discord etc as well when my game stutters my internet seems to shit itself. Anyome else had this issue?

  8. Sadly i do agree that its a bit daft, with the 40% increase in weight for boats it should only take an hour or two to farm a sloop solo, using that sloop during the 2.5x event i solo built a schooner in 2 hours and 12 minutes and had to juggle some weight but thats not an issue now.

With it now being a permament 2x increase i coukd honestly farm the next boat up within 3 hours....

As a person who did this solo, i shudder tk think what a mega tribe could do. But the thing is it stays the same, if i can build 2 boats now instead of one. And mega tribes can build 20 instead of 10, its the same ratio. Only downside is. Theirs hurts a lot more.

Ideally i would like it reduced because it at least slows down the speed at which the big get bigger. That is all. No point making it so that in 2 weeks the big guys go to war with each other, and crash the servers. I can also picture multiple galleons etc being piloted by a single player jjst to increase the war power (which i am so looling forward tk seeing but believe the servers wont be able to handle a 20-20 battle)

This is a good change its only 30% of top force. This means it not dead in the water especially when running into so many sod.

Yeah but at that point it means whoever has the bigger sail in pvp will have the advantage since now being good at riding the winds doesnt mean much when a big sail ship can just go against the wind

    1 minute ago, Nightstrasza said:

That 30% still won't save from a SoD... that's more of a help with not being stationary for few hours without a way back home, this change atleas give atleast some basic movement. However... won't it mean that handling sails are now useless vs the speed sails?

I woumd suspect muktiole speed sails would beat handling in all scenarios now

  10. I agree the speed is a big boost, it takes me almost half an hour by raft to get to the closest island and that's with the wind in my sail, so I welcome the speed increases. What doesn't make sense is the sailing against the wind providing force, unless its a force going backwards I do find that to be stupid. That's like hitting reverse to go forward

Anytime you are not going with the wind, the speed sail will be useless. We’ve found handling to be most valuable.

You can still turn the speed sail but it isn't a massive circle like the handling one unfortunately, on my schoomer I think ill be using a large handling and most likely a small speed, I havnt decided yet on a set amount

Well, there's always polar biome, but it lacks vitamin A and C and is rather harsh both in low amounts of resources and strong creatures...

Shovels can help with the A, pretty sure you can dig up potatoes almost anywhere. Havnt tried it that far north yet, bt yeah even the beggining areas of tundra are hectic
