  1. Unfortunately, a server cluster for Atlas is so expensive that I am not willing to pay 400 € a year for a tiny world alone. If that were not the case, I would have long ago retreated to an unofficial server, as in Ark. There you are your own master, can change inappropriate settings and can also use mods.

  2. The real question is the reason behind the tax after only one player can claim an entire island. Why should other players share their time an ressources with any unwanted landlord? what will the get in return?

  3. Iam a PVE player...

All i want is my own small claim, that keeps a safe distance between me and all other asholes out there. its ok for an outpost to pay tax, but not for my homebase. also friendly neightbors are welcome, after knowing them.

  4. Back on my Island on the PTR and... yes, its already claimed. There is now also 30% tax over the entire island. So, without any option to avoid the tax or even to claim my own area, i want to know what i will get in return for that?

take ark none of the endgame content is locked away from solo / duo / small groups so why do it with this game , maybe a quest to unlock it but not behind an endgame boss and end game ghost ships and high lvl island bosses

Hä??? Ark locked the entire tek stuff behind bosses. This is excactly the same shit as in atlas...

  6. With the elimination of the claims, the radius, which prevents the resources from being re-spawned, has to be drastically reduced. The current attitudes lead already by the settlement density to the rare resources are lost, because buildings are built too close.

Apart from that, the developer has to worry about how he prevents rare resources such as metals from being walled in so players can no longer reach them. This is already the case on lawless servers.

Grapheshot, it is your job as a developer to ensure the availability of resources for all players in the game. The abolition of the claims does not make this easier.

  7. There are always opportunities for abuse and assholes.

However, during my playing time in Atlas, I hardly ever experienced any of them. We have a small main base (3 claims) with friendly neighbors (to whom we ceded territories early because they asked kindly). In addition, I maintain 2 outposts in foreign areas and pay 30% tax. No matter where, there has always been a reasonable dialogue and mutual help.

It should not be forgotten that not only owners of claims can be assholes. Many players behave so badly and stupidly that nobody wants to have them as neighbors.

Indeed why build on a.island if the owner can demolish at will. You pay tax/upkeep for the owner but if he doesn't like you our your build/spot of building he just wipe your progress. Where is the protection of the small man? Move to another island... Yes and have the chance of the same.

This part keeps me from playing PvP.  And pve is not a alternative anymore. That will be Pilar/foundation griever heaven.

Pillar and floor spam will be also a problem for pvp. But here can the owner remove them. So many players are spaming, gates, walling regions and build useless oversitzed struktures. Islands need do be moderated by anyone. The players have to consider each other and not just do what they want. Because you are not alone in the world, you can not just build as you want. Spawning and mobility should not be restricted and consideration should be given to those with poor performance rather than concretizing the world with useless decoration objects.

But all depends on how the new autorepair structure will work. If they do it correct, the pillar-spam will not be as horrible as it is now and there is way more space to spread the players because all island are treated equal after the wipe.

Well, i will not quit and dont care so much about a wipe. But the pillar spam will happen. Take a look at lawles zones. They are full of useles structures, pillars and floors.

I think the severs needs to be administrated by a mod, who will destroy useles objects. Also stupid oversized structures and gate spams need to be ripped down by an mod. Many players are just too stupid to be left alone.

Yea they did its in great detail, every item you place will have an upkeep to it the more shit you drop the more it will cost you. You did not listen to the video im not going to explain it when your to lazy to go listen to the video explaining on what they intend to do. And it will be tested before its dropped on public

Sry man, but you do not understand. Decay and upkeep will not solve the problem. The decay will probably take a few days. If not, we pay horrendous amounts for maintenance and can not even go on vacation for a week without the house collapsing. In the long run, the idiots will block the island just because they can and want ruins your fun.

No matter how the system is designed, it is the choice between plague and cholera.

I think they are counting on the upkeep cost stopping foundation spamming that cause this problem but I'm worried about this too. I'm also worried about people walling in people house or walling people off the island all typically ways of griefing others. The problem is if they make the upkeep high enough to prevent spamming for big guilds then it will cripple the small players from building decent size bases, that why I don't think this system will work.

Upkeep wont stop Players from Pillar spamming. How should the system differ between a normal player and an idiot? The decay will indeed need its time, because otherwise the house collapses, just because you are two weeks on vacation. So I have to wait and hope that within the time or shortly thereafter, the next idiot is not at the door.

Do I have to spam pillars myself to reserve the necessary expansion area?

  12. I should note that the effects are probably all tolerable and none of them are unplayable. It just annoying. Especially because one falls from one negative effect to the next. Too warm, too cold, no visibility, no wind, wind from the wrong direction, tornadoes ... It's always something you just do not want at all. I wonder if there is ever a full day in this game where you are not bothered by these effects.

  13. 1. Fog

The fog is just annoying. Even in Ark that was a feature that hardly anyone really wanted. The game does not really get any harder on that either, it just wastes more time at best because you're just waiting for it to be over.

In a seafaring game I'll let it go, but the game will definitely not get any better. It remains an annoying style feature.

    2. Cold front

Not that you have to rest after the fog for a while ... No, you fall from one effect to the next or they even overlap. So it is not uncommon for the cold front to obstruct the view again after the fog, because the clouds reach down to the ground. What's the crap?

I want to sail and do not need a bad weather simulator. Sometimes I also have the impression that there is no normal day without any annoying effects in Atlas. Please try to find a healthy mediocrity and not constantly harass the player with totally overdrawn features. There are some really good approaches that are so overrun that they do the opposite of what they could. To offer the player a varied and entertaining game world.

    3. Tornados

You just do not want to, or you just can not? With the last change, I thought we could finally get it right now. The technical implementation is really bad. Now I have storms where the boat is turned for no apparent reason (the tornado is obviously just hidden and the damage disabled), or 33% of the old wall of tornadoes.

    Design suggestion:

    a) Rain without tornado, without damage, without vortex that turns the ship

    b) There are 50% Tornados with damage and whirlpool. There will then be rolled per Tornado, whether this really arises. There is a limit of max 3 tornadoes around the player to avoid this stupid wall of tornadoes.

    4. Wind

The doldrum is still quite funny as Newbie, but if you are sent from Northwest to Southeast after a few weeks of playing, it just annoying. It's a waste of playing time. To have to cross against the wind is still acceptable, but the doldrums have so much entertainment value as dirty dishes.

  14. Ah ... I forgot one thing. When dismounting from a sheep the player hangs flapping / hanging behind the sheep. The hitbox seems to be too big.

Basically, I would also prefer the big animals, if one stands on the animal after the dismount and is not thrown off full height.

They won’t, when they did that, the forums were full of PvE’ers wanting it changed. It’s sad, but they won’t change it back. We just have to live with the fact people can solo a gally in 1 day 😄

They could just buff the useless and lazy crew properly, that they can do more than sit lazily on the ship. They can not carry anything, they have to less HP, the pathfinding is stupid and they hang everywhere. They can not handle tools either.

Make the crew more productive than the animals, then you do not have to tame them anymore. If they can not do that, we do not need to discuss the topic any further.

You can teleport back home to the bed you're bound to, just keep one man on a ship to not loose it.

Your solution is a one way ticket home? Realy? How should they come back on the ship? What will hapen, if the remaining player go offline?

Are you stupid or just ignorant?
