Long story short.... many people live on lawless because they refuse to be a tenant because they have already written off the community as bad apples, which is in fact the complete opposite. The landlord system is not bad, but many people don't even give it a chance. So the system itself is not failing, it is the players that are failing the system.
Signing off, one happy tenant/
Thats nice, and we treat our Settlers the same way. Never the less, once your current landlord quits, the new landlord will again be able to demolish everything for a short period of time. This needs to ne changed asap. Once your structures are save from once owner, a change in ownership shouldnt enable them to demo it again. Until this is fixed we are doomed to farm gold to pay for an island. And with all the bugs its getting very annoying.

Try bigger companies islands or just rich on resources islands. Settle there, pay taxes. You won't have to care about upkeep which will free you hands a bit, you will be protected
Well for starters (for PvE) so they are save from some random idiot who claims the island and demolishes everything in sight, just because they can. And currently, everytime the ownership changes the new "landlord" can again demolish all your stuff. The whole tax/claim system shouldnt have been impemented for PvE in the first place, but hey.

The bug where you fade through the ship instead of climbing up is pretty much non existant anymore, so please dont touch them

I dont think it works the same way now that we see the owner/taxes on the map. I havent found a way to see which ones i didnt explore yet at least. As for the second question.. you bought skins, not actual items to wear. Pull them over an actual armor piece in your inventory, then it should work.

As long as you make it optional i dont think anyone minds too much. If you force it on all players.. no thanks. There are way too many ways to abuse that. Also weekly? Bit drastic..

After you get all your tames, do all your building, make all upgraded ships and gear and kill the kraken there is not much left to do until more content is added. Now you have the sub and the upgraded kraken to keep you going.
My point is after you explore all the content it gets kinda pointless to log in just to upkeep what you have/fill feeding troughs etc. the wipe has been kinda nice to force you to progress through the game again.
That being said you need to spread out wipes a few months minimum and only do them when necessary.
Its a sandbox game. If themepark mmos run out of content on a regular base, this game wont be able not to
If regular wipes are the answer to a lack of gamedepth and content you will lose most of the PvE playerbase for sure.

And it is a bit behind sometimes, but it works.

Im pretty sure. And if thats the case im out, especially if they are now a monthly event.
-
And while you are at it.. get rid of the no wind events or reduce the amount of times we get it. That one is even worse.

Kind regardsIt also means wood, stone and metal.

1 hour ago, uli said:as they have stated they are not worried about player base size at this stage of development , the systems they are designing are for the longer term game and if all goes well and good design decisions are made an increase in players base and larger company’s
Then it would still make sense to reduce it during the early stages, especially for PvE. There is no need to form large companies in PvE, and from the people i met so far it is a lot of small groups of rl friends mostly. With the exception of "endgame" content there is no need for large companies.

Yeah there are some unclaimed islands and we also would like to claim a bigger/better one. But without the members, no island.
At least it's off topic here, sry for that.
We started out with a small 15 point island, really not worth it sadly. They are really tiny and the resources are not enough to sustain ship/base building. In that case you are really better off with lawless, there are still quite a lot of them empty, depending on the region. Im in a small company myself, i know how frustrating it is, but i hope they will reduced the points and gold upkeep at some point. I guess they overestimated the playerbase and size of companies at least for PvE.

What race? There are plenty of unclaimed islands still available and most Lawless are half empty... I guess that happens if you lose a large part of your playerbase and add 40% more islands. There never was so much space in this game, ever. At least EU PvE.

This forum needs to check if you actually own the game.

And you level in percent, so a few percent more of a crappy initial stat roll wont be noticeable.

The least they can do if they keep wiping every "mega" patch is making the build up faster. Even in their own interest, as we get to test more stuff.

Not true! Just yesterday i was thinking "man.. if they had bunny ears id be back in a second!"

Beautiful. Its like they dont want people playing this game. It turned into a "season 50% off each Mega patch" cash grab.

Even if they keep wiping every 4-6 months... Still not acceptable. A persistan universe "MMO" (especially PvE) should not be wiped unless absolutely needed. This ends up being like PvP "seasons"... They greatly overestimate the fun factor of their own game. It is not enough fun to start over every few months.

4 minutes ago, Willard said:Wipe was needed because claim system changes. Ofc there won´t be wipe because they add new islands.
Ill get back to you in 1-2 months Lets hope you were right.

Prolly put down a flag, claimed it, stole your stuff and removed the flag (or only put in gold for one tick). Somone did the same to D6... If you are looking for a place to stay drop me a line. We claimed a pretty large island so that no one can do that to us. Not quite the point of PvE to have your crap stolen and destroyed without any chance to counter it...
The Settlers building somewhere need a protection from players taking over the island. Keep the 12-24 demolish for unconnected structures maybe, so people dont pillar spam. But after a Settler is safe the new owner shouldne be able to destroy it either.

I wonder which cosmetic we get that time around... maybe a shirt that says "Ops, we did it again"

So does that mean another wipe already in 1-2 months?

In fact.. it makes me wonder if i should even bother now. They clearly have no clue.
