    i think it's so someone else can order NPCs to do stuff while you focus on sailing. Just splits the work load I think

    you cant even kill an enemy mount 1v1 unless you sit on a cliff and spam shoot it. That’s how broken thet currently are

    No we're not, but when the game spawns 10 or so predators around you with huge aggro ranges when you just want to gather, a lion drags you of your mount, a snake it torpin the hell out of you and they're all between level 1 - 5, I would like to think my lvl 50 wolf or bear can actually fight back and not get destroyed.

    Don't get me wrong, i love that animals are dangerous even when you're high level, but it makes no sense nerfing tames when the spawn/dmg/amount of predator mobs is so high, throw alpha into the equation and tames  haven't got a chance

    This thing is tames aren't very strong anyway, they're real use is harvesting. An alpha mob can pretty much one shot a tame and even a pack of normal wolves can take you out if you're not careful

    They made a post, once they fix stuff they will perma ban exploiters. Not on these forums (stupid I know), but on steam. Will have to see if they stick to their word, if not i'll happily raise the pitchfork 


  5. When it comes to building BP and weps, i agree. they need more stats you get a buff or something to help against raiding, better the quality, better the buff, be it more DEF, more Melee Dmg when in the area of the base with the . 

    Weps need to go full RPG, was disappointed when i got a pistol BP and it had a tiny increase in dmg. Was hoping it would allow more shots, more dmg, less reload time, more crit, go full out, if they want it to be a mmorpg survival go crazy with the RPG elements. Maybe you can get added fire dmg or ice, or does more dmg to certain creatures

    I like the ones for armour, like the extra bounes stats, makes it so if you get a god tier BP with you can set up armour trade company or something.

     

    Overall it needs a good looking at. Think this will be something down the line once the major stuff is sorted

    The game is EA? Yep, but dont advertise sailing and have it in-game just to be broken. Even their twitch is "sailtheatlas". 

    If you think such a practice is fine then have fun. People like you are the reason why developers don't give a fuck about quality anymore.

    Edit: Thanks for posting the steamchart btw, you're literally proving my point that players ARE LEAVING. Check that chart of yours again and see that the numbers are going down :).

    What practices? You're going on like they released knowing that players were going to find exploits and mess with people, could they have planned for it? Sure. i think they should have done a month stress test, but they didn't and that's down to just poor planning not they're trying to "they don't care" . I'm always against companies screwing over players, but this is a case of players taking responsibility for buying an EA title. This isn't a released game, they said it won't be for 2 years.

    for a company that doesn't give a crap they sure seem to be patching this game none-stop, we've had 20+ patches since Christmas and no i'ts not that those take priority it's more a case of some fixes take longer than others.

    Overall you're complaining an EA is playing like an EA, if you wanted a quality game wait 2 years when It actually released, don't buy an EA title. Simple.

  7. 20+ patches and doing so while over the holidays.

    Think to say they don't care is down too players being impatient, they want it working now. 

    This stuff takes time and like i said they have been patching none stop, so just wait and chill, it's not like we have had no patches.

    This game is officially releasing in 2 years, if you're not happy, wait till then.

    Find it strange when people say they need to fix it ASAP or the devs don't care when they are actively patching

    Using the "it's a pirate game" or the "we are supposed to be pirates" is just people justifying being not very nice to other people so they don't feel guilty for their actions.
    This is not and never should be a valid excuse for this type of behavior.

    While i'm not too fussed, but I agree, I think we forfeit the right of "it's a pirate game" when we joined a PvE server.  It's the worse kind of defence for people who grief, not saying anyone does here.

    Pretty much this i think. once you hit max weight, you can no longer pick anything up. I see no purpose why it's uncapped after that anyway, unless i'm missing something?


  10. This is one way to kill your game early. 0 communication on game-breaking bugs/exploits, but get a post about language used.

    Been a victim of this just now, went out and spent ages looking for and taming a bear, come back. Zero resources, ran around maybe thinking someone farmed, not a player in sight. Then noticed two buoys by the the guys who claimed the whole island, so i'm screwed and my progress halted, unless i go to another island making resource farming far more tedious  than it should be, one i'll be taxed and two i can't carry loads back. meaning just for a basic amount of mats ill have to make a 20 - 30 min trip there and back, if i'm lucky.

    This is a HUGE problem, progression is halted as i can't farm anything anymore.


  11. I worded the last part wrong, because i agree it's not just first come, but also people abusing the currently broken system as well. The system currently rewards greed, you can claim a whole island and tax people and they can't do anything about it. better saying is "abuse the system or gtfo".

    I agree, with limited claims your first part makes a lot of sense, preserve the resources around your base if people wish to farm them, you get something back as it will hinder your progression, but the tax system linked with claim spam just rewards those who were able to get on the server first, grefiers and people who stole claims. i think even removing the decay of resources near a built base would make this work even better, they have it on lawless, so should be easy to do. This would benefit smaller companies or solo players two as harvesting it a lot slower for us.

    Overall, I just don't like the idea of rewarding people who over take a whole island preventing others from joining and forcing them into the lawless region. There's no mutual ground with how things currently are. It's, "i was here first, follow my rules or gtfo"

     


  13. I made a suggestion for this yesterday as i just lost my mind lol.

    Landed on the island, cleared hostiles then in about 10 secs more appeared, cleared those then more came. Spent 30 mins just constant killing mobs and was unable to achieve anything i set out to do, had to log-of in a random region as i had work in the morning.

    it's EA at the end of the day, i just wish we had a community manager on thee forums just to sure us things are being looked at. It's not like anyone on here is toxic or trolling, so not sure why they're avoid posting.


  14. Probably been said, but i'll say it again, in rant mode. Please change up the spawn rate of predators. I travelled to an island to tame a bear and get some resources, but i spent the last 20 mins killing lions/giant snakes as they seem to respawn as soon as I kill them.

    I'm fine with the spawn rate of animals, but the predators are a bit overboard. There needs to be some counter to it. i would suggest making predators fight, so instead of me having to kill everything over and over again, a lion would kill of a snake or a wolf or vice versa. I won't have to kill the 2 lions, 1 wolf and 3 snakes who seemed to have teamed up.

    It just makes game-play un-fun if i have spend most of my time doing something unwanted, not saying i don't want to have a challenge, but if i'm wasting 20 min and haven't completed anything i set out to do, it just gets bor and want to log out.


  15. You need tools skill first and for materials you need 3 different type of each material, so for example you have 3 types of leather already and 3 types of metal, you already have 290  light wood, you need another 2 types of wood to make it.

    think about that fact that we will devide ourselves in smaller groups and still posses the whole island. for example there are other 70 of us, trully, about half of those people are always online. it is about half of the whole population on our server. once and if Devs will put limit on company size we will break in a smaller groups and will put all those "unclamable flags" all other our island again.

    I think that's fine, if you're group is legit big, then it i'm sure people understand, but most aren't and tend to be a people ranging from 3- 10 taking an whole island. On mine there's a group, i say group, swear it's one person, whos claimed every square foot and complains if anyone tries to lay down a claim, as it's "their island". This is the main problem and i think people assume it's large groups doing it

    If each person is allowed to place one flag down, as a company that should be more than enough to cover, the range is pretty big and if you place it in the water you can over a large section of sea and land with ease, it's more a case of preventing these smaller groups taking an entire island and bullying others off.

    Agree, on PVE it makes zero sense as there's no contesting or battles to fight over dominance and who controls what as on PVP it shows your company are the strongest and you fought to get the land and control it. PVe it's who got there first and spammed claim flags.

    That's not true and I'm playing solo. At first I scared to leave my sector, but yesterday went on a long ass journey and it's not as bad as i thought to avoid them and that's as a solo player. As soon as I see one, I slow down, check what direction they're heading and by pass them. The thing is their patrol area isn't that big, they tend to circle the same location so you can adjust enough. Kid you not, on my way back yesterday I came across 6 in my sector and avoided them all. I will say they need reduce the amount and asd other NPC's, but they're not as scary as some say once you come in contact with them more often.

     

    I say this and I'm gonna be killed tonight haha


  18. The problem stems from people over using flags in PvE trying to claim islands for themselves. If people weren't allowed to place one or even 2 flags, they wouldn't bother as there would be enough spaces and the A-holes won't be able to try steal from others or an entire island for themselves.


  19. Also there are actually people out there who will STOP you trying to take a claim if they "own" an island. For example,  on my island there's a group who literally threatened me because i took 1 extra claim right next to my base and being trying to grief me and claim the island there's and they were allowing me to stay there.

     

    Again there's no reason for more than 1 or even 2 claim flags. This isn't ARK were you needed a huge base to store dinos, breed them, ETC. Two claims can easily cover enough land and if you stick one in the sea, you're laughing. Remove resources decay when building, as i see no reason for it, unless someone can give a reason?
