  1. There's some kind of exploit going on.  I was active last night, logged in to my shack this morning and some of the walls and floors were someone else's.  This is technically impossible because they shouldn't have been able to build next to an "enemy" structure, let alone do this on an Active claim.  My flag was reporting my claim status as OK.

  2. Pve, Active last night, logged in and some walls and floors were someone else's.  Claim Flag status green, even dropped a buoy near my shack before logging out.  Logged in this afternoon, both beds destroyed.  This is theoretically impossible on PvP never mind PvE.

  3. I noticed they claimed (or replaced) a few floors too. I'm about 20 yards away from my claim flag and have dropped a buoy in the hopes it stops buoys right next door to me, for what that's worth. I'm in an area with just rocks so it doesn't matter if they don't spawn.

  4. Logged out last night all well in PvE, logged in today to find several of my walls, floors and one of my pin-locked storage box are someone else's.  They were quite gentlemanly because they didn't pin lock it or remove anything.  Weird, but could have been worse.  🙂

They managed to place a buoy quite close, but how come they could demolish MY walls and replace them with their's?  I wish it had happened to my PvP character because I could at least have done something about it.  😄

  5. Fire Arrows are incredible.  I killed a lvl 70 Alpha Croc in 3 shots.  Then I saw a lvl170 Alpha Elephant, and that went down in 3 shots as well.  Even NORMAL mobs don't go down that fast!  Anyway, it got me 12 levels and 36 Skill Points in less than two minutes.  My Firearm Skill went straight to Flintlock Pistols in one easy move with 10 points left over.  😮  I hope I see a lot more Alphas!

I was hyped for No Man's Sky.  But in that case, I played it a bit smarter. I waited.  And when I saw the huge flood of negative reviews and complaints and how the game could be 'completed' in a matter of hours, I patted myself on the back.

I STILL have not purchased No Man's Sky even though I'm told it's done a complete turnaround.

To this game, the damage has already been done.  The Steam reviews say so.  And the only thing that the players have at their disposal to give Wildcard a wakeup call is exactly what we're doing now. Making these issues known so that others don't make the mistake we did.

Yet on the main party night of the year, 38k are playing Atlas while NMS scrapes 5k as it has tonight as I type.  So much for THEIR turnaround.

  7. I'm on Reptile Hell Island mate, they've eaten all the wolves.  There  are times I have been chased by 2 Crocs Plus a 120 Alpha Croc and a Giant Snake.  Or today, 5 Crocs.  Some days it's tough, so stash your gear and do a nekkid run to scout claims out.  It's what I did.

Persevere.  I was lvl 8 when I arrived, after which they kindly increased skill point costs.  🙂  I'm now lvl 32 and just opened up Flintlocks and Fire Arrows.  When I arrived I had Stone tools and could hardly scavenge enough Fiber for arrows!

It's tragic because it COULD be a great game but because there's so much empty open space which can't be claimed makes it a flop.

Try counter-claiming.  Go up to a flag, try and place yours and it will tell you how many seconds to the 3 day timer running out.  If the time looks reasonable, slap your flag down.  Don't look at all the red circles and give up.

  9. Have they got the bug ironed out where people lost claims after being offline a few hours?  A guy on the island I am on had this happen to him and he lost everything.  I'd hate to wake up and find my claim gone from under me.  I've had three claims on my patch and they were defeated, but it would be nice to have a definitive answer from the Devs.

Also, I see some flags around that have a tiny red rectangle at the top, marked out with black lines into a 2x4 or 5 grid.  What does that mean?

hello sulfur : ) i might be overseeing something but doesn't it have to rain to fill the barrel? it never rains on our tile and we are almost in the tundra region

I thought that in my biome, Low Desert.  Surprised to find it does, but unlike Ark you don't see it or hear it.  Leave the barrel lid open and eventually it fills with water if they are open to the sky.  They don't Lock though.  I have 2 of them In a sort of 2-walls high "chimney" in my house inside a 1x1 locked room, so that people can't steal the water or get into my house where the rain comes in.  I am on my own so 2 is ample, but you could have as many as you want.  You fill waterskins in it's inventory and press T to get the full skin out.

Reservoirs should fill with rain too, like in Ark, but I've not made them in Atlas as yet.  You might be able to drink from those in the same manner, or maybe by using the pipe system?  Must try that out.
