  1. I find the best way to survive - bar just killing my character & respawning to avoid wasting time with food - is to make a Preserving bag and Preserving Salt.  Each piece of cooked meat lasts 2 hours and the meat stacks up to 30 (if I recall) so you can play next day and have food to last you until the next batch.  Berries last a long time too, and Salt consumption is very slow.  At least I don't have to catch damn' fish almost constantly, even though I have the vitamin skills to make them deplete slower.

On the PVE server this is wrong.  But on PVP server this is fine.

I agree wholeheartedly.  That said, some damage is just crazy.  I saw someone's Shipyard taking 324hp of damage each attack... from an Alpha Snake.  It was too tough for me to help a guy out, because I felt sorry for him.  He wasn't on the server because it was maybe midnight and the Shipyard was down 20,000hp and the snake had the whole night ahead of it.  😕

Ranged OP. You wasted all those melee skill points.

Especially Flintlocks.  I wondered if they were worth it and was told they were.  I had a pistol in each hand and when I one-shotted a lvl 26 Croc in the head I was very impressed indeed!  I haven't bothered with melee skills yet, as mobs are dead long before they get to me, with a bit of kiting.

In some ways Fire Arrows are possibly even better.  It's great seeing mobs burn and the fire is catching to other mobs which can be both good... and very bad.  😄

    ^-- This!

Except with the bug you CAN'T defend it.  The 3 day timer is screwed beyond all belief.  I was active the other night, logged in the following morning, my base was half someone else's and my Claim flag was reporting all was well with my Claim and that I owned it.  😄   A guy on Steam today logged in, was Active in his claim spot and sailed to an Island for materials and an hour after he started playing he got the message saying his base had been claimed.  So much for "defending" it.  🙂

  5. The amount of times I, and many others, have lost our stuff due to server issues they need to leave the event running just so we can start from scratch. AGAIN.

That's if we can actually log in, of course, which at the moment we can't.

  6. It's a nightmare even on PvE.  Something is happening where an Active claim, which should be totally safe for three days if you have been Active IN the claim, are being snatched in a matter of an hour or two of the owner logging off. I had it happen to me.  I'm not bothering to Claim (like there is anything to Claim!) until it is sorted out.

A perfect example is a guy called Youros on the Steam forum, who was ONLINE when he lost his claim.  He logged in (so was Active) set sail to another island and 40 minutes later he lost his claim and his base was no longer his.  https://steamcommunity.com/app/834910/discussions/0/1742229167225135915/?tscn=1546437595

Overlaping areas. If the base area overlap from someone that claimed the area next to you it can happen that parts of your stuff become theirs.

Yes, but being able to replace parts of my building in just a few hours when the claim should have been rejected because I HAD been Active? I'd been Active all night, just before he pulled this fast one somehow.   I tried  blocking him my Active claim which overlapped HIS shack and I was getting "Too close to enemy Structure". Three or four hours after that my beds were gone, too.

  8. I feel for guy who is offline and getting his shipyard attacked by a 270 Alpha Snake. It's doing about 325 damage per hit and the shipyard was down 20k hp when I left on my raft. I shouted a warning but got no response. It will be destroyed by morning. A shipyard. By a snake. That's crazy.
