People are already working toward building an RP community as they do in just about every game. Here is a site that just went up: https://www.sailtheatlasrp.com/ There is also a discord channel. https://discord.gg/3wejXJa Yes, I suspect it will probably be restricted to unofficial servers. We did a bit of RP in Pirates of the Burning Sea. It was fun but that game did not have all of the sand-boxy goodness of ATLAS. Of course ATLAS still has a long way to go but RP can certainly be part of the game's growing process.

Traven, I get your point about solo player bases blocking respawn. But maybe resource spawning could be adjusted (increased) or respawn suppression limited to building footprints rather than radii. That way the claiming limits people are asking for could still be implemented, and we would not have to PvP on a PvE server. I don't know what the answer is but I hope the devs are considering all these things.

Yeah. Calling this a PvE server is false advertising. The only way for me to get land is to steal it from another player. I get that this is a pirate-themed game, but taking from another player what he doesn't want to give up is PvP, pure and simple. Calling it anything else is inappropriate and will result in many unhappy customers.
