I'm from Tundra and there are just 3 iron spawns in my whole island : ) So I have to gather it every available time or gather as many resources as I can in my travles : )

Its better to travel to polar region and grab metal bcoz the no of nodes it literally  countless there. I live in N13 and O15 has just so many nodes of tin and cobalt in one place. Its just insane amount of metal there.

  2. Blueprints aren't useless, they are totally random I know but the only point of destroying sotd is for bps and high lvl npcs which cost less gold, not even gold and ammo. If you have better cannon bps you'll need less cannonballs so they have a purpose. And I took down a lvl.17 with a schooner with just 3 cannons manned and hired crew from that damned. You don't have to go to the freeport to hire crew. And yes you can do this solo.

And for metal gathering, I live close to polar region so 1 trip on galleon I bring 20k metal, no problems there.

  3. Just sail on border of the server. Its not that difficult to avoid them unless you are on a galleon.

And 7 sotd should be the limit is what you saying, really?

It takes 5 mins to take em out on a brigantine. Its a real pain due to their sheer number, thats because people aren't clearing them out.

We took out 25+ of them in our region in 2 days now its a bit better to travel in our region.

Till you meet alpha . I tried once time and lost my bear .

And i need to guide the bear too because of unreliable A.I pathfinding .

Just tame a lvl.25+ bear. I've killed all alpha animals except tiger(never had a chance) with a bear and having mate boosted bears on follow is much better.

Use natures cry and natures touch skills, it takes 2 points to unlock them but they are really effective.

Your avatar seems perfectly calibrated for this post.😉

Just wondering since you didn’t specify, was that a common pickaxe?

I've tested 133% damage blue pick and 110% damage green pick, blue gathered 15k thatch and green gathered 14.5k so diff isn't really that much.

And giraffe gathers same thatch as my blue pick per hit but its slow and doing it by pick is way faster.

Yes, and we’ve been seeing that since day 1. You can’t make everyone happy.

Yep, their main focus for this game is you play with friends or make friends and be a part of a company. But not everyone wants to play with other people. If they do something for solo players it'll not be good for companies and vice versa.

  7. If wipe happens it will be an entire clean server. You wont to keep any level or discovery points as it is a wipe.

But if it happens only new players will play the game because all those who are playing aince day 1 will lose everything they have, so they'll probably quit. Because its a real pain to build mythical and legendary galleons as small companies and armors as well.

I dunno rightnow the sotd numbers need to be reduced. More of them then a zones population

Yea, the amount of sotd is so much that we maxed out our brig by destroying only sotd near our area. This is absurd.

  9. If it has weight capacity a person have rights to do anything with their ship. Its their choice to have 0 cannons or 50 cannons.

Devs have given 10 gunports to schooner which grant reduced weight to cannons.

And you cant even destroy a very high level damned with just 5 cannons on a side so if you don't want to place 40 cannons then don't.

I'm currently working with a guy who I'm going to give a waterfront claim to.  Once myself and the neighbors are comfortable that he's not an asshat or a griefer, I'll demolish the claim I'm allowing him to build on with no problem.  This benefits my company, our neighbors and allies and the guy who's building on the claim.  We all get a good neighbor (we hope), he gets a claim of his own that ensures his hard work can't be taken away, and we get tax collection from the inland claims he'll be farming.

Hoarding claims isn't the only option. While the dev's may consider claim count a 'win', hoarding claims has so far generated enough animosity toward the system that the devs are going to change it. And IF the changes still allow hoarding, the complaints will continue to pile up until something drastic is done.

Unless land owners, like you and myself, come up with a viable solution that gives players what they want while still achieving the goals we as land owners want, the devs will be forced to ram something down our throats. And what they come up with will likely be much less palatable that the solution we come up with.

So, I suggest you approach this like a business.  If they're already on your claims, you have a captive audience.  Make them happy by giving them a claim, raise the taxes and you create a monopoly where everyone is happy (mostly).  Or should I say happier?

We also have done this with a couple of companies cuz you really want to keep griefers away.

But the main problem is quitters who have heck ton of land without any build permissions. They just login to reset the timer, thats it. And I've seen many companies which do this.

A larder would only last about a month, and that's with noone eating from it. If they're logging on often enough to keep him fed, then they're on often enough to contest.

If they are logging in then their timer will get reset to 20 days again. I think the overlapping of flags is causing that claim to be contested due to npcs.

People without land are yelling that they want flag upkeep. A NPC in a box with enough food and gold to keep them there would be a self-imposed flag upkeep...

Once the people without land, get land, then the same people will be yelling that flag upkeep is the stupidest idea ever, and why the hell did they drop the claim protection from 3 weeks to 2, and damn it, sleeping bodies should contest again!

No. Sleeping bodies stay forever. My mates who left game early didn't even lose 1 hp for 2 months after quitting. Removal of sleeping bodies is a really nice solution for that. And now that the protection is 20 days for claims and the timer runs out then the owner doesn't deserve that land because he/she never gonna play.

At current situation people just login once a week to reset timer on claims and tames which is just occupying land and nobody using it.

  12. People will just spam foundations to block resources in the current scenario if this happens.

We are even letting people build on our land with 5% tax and no rent cost so they can farm and have their own base but they want their own claims.

I understand everyone wants to have a claim of their own but in the current situation this is the only option until they change claim system in upcoming update.

If you transfer your bear ( i always do) make sure its next to an open area (never from behind or in the front of the ship) on the boat and that its not on follow. I do believe its important to that the ship is anchored and not moving.

It'll still bug, happened with me many times so I know its totally random. Happened with schooner and galleon. It never bugged on Brigantine though.

  14. Use a bear to hit it and tame it in open field and when you trap it with bola feed it from the back while crouched, it won't hit you but it'll try to run once after 60%.

You can use a taming pen but it might block its head and you won't be able to feed.

Crouch and approach from the back it won't take you much time to get the sweet spot and try taming it during 2x which will be quite fast.
