8 hours is just a terrible idea, especially for new players. Who makes these gameplay decisions? Do they have any business acumen?

Also, what's the decay time on ships out of Freeports? There's been 2 rafts by my base (one partially blocking my dock) that have been there for over a month now. One just has a storage chest and a campfire.

Not nessesary a bad decision, having very little PVP / PVE seperation is bad.

Also without trawling the internet, you'll only find out about the fast decay when you loose a ship is an utter crap system, they could easily add a bit more text to the "you are above level 8" constant notice when you are in a freeport region.

  2. I feel sorry for the Xbox players.

When we (PC players) started this game we had weekly captains logs, weekly screenshot art competitions with cash prizes, and a good amount of customer engagement.

When the poor Xbox players started they got one captains log basicly saying "we're not talking to anyone anymore, bye."

  3. If done during peace time it'll be an exploit and if you are lucky those doing it will be punished, if you're realy lucky they will actualy tell you before closeing the ticket.

If done out of peace phase, they will close the ticket and tell you to post a suggestion on the forum.

Hmm, more people play Conan Exiles than Atlas, so fast travel hasn't been that bad for it. Also you don't say it, but you are only talking about PvP. Most people playing Conan are playing PvE and fast travel does not wreck anything in PvE. The key to making fast travel work, is that just like in Conan, you must visit the location the normal way the first time. After that, you get to use fast travel. For all those that think it would wreck PvP, it could be disabled for PvP.

If they don't want an economy, trading or high level maps being a long ways off to be a thing, then by all means have fast travel.

No they used to wander naked around the whole map carrying explosives, in fact I made a map for people to use outside my main base and they never used it. In exiles the map isn't really that big and you can walk everywhere,  it doesn't take long really.

Oh! ok. not played it myself.

So not a great example for whoever brought it up if fast travel and on foot isn't much of a difference.

I don't agree that fast travel has ruined conan exiles and i've played it since release and I'm the longest surviving player on the server i'm on. I played pvp for quite  a while too and it wasn't fast travel that was the problem or mega tribes, it was a small group of bored college kids that would wait till you were offline and blow up your buildings and kill all your thralls cos they had nothing to do.Then the purge that was totally broken and just afflicted everyone and destroyed my biggest base while I was offline. In Atlas I don't find the sailing boring, I just don't always have the time to sail for 2-3 hours a day. All that's gonna happen if people keep saying it's boring is, they will make the sailing more perilous by adding more dangers at sea, ok if you've played for ages but the new player won't stand a chance on his raft or ramshackle.

I bet those bored college kids used fast travel to search the server for offline people.

You want that in atlas too?

Making the flotsam more interesting would take some of the boredom away at sea.  As it is, most people just sail past it because it isn't worth it.

I'm not 100% sure but I think grapling flotsam gives your ship XP, My schooner has leveled up a couple times as I land the flotsam.

Now NPC's with accordians is a thing and a catwalk iether side of the ship so I can almost just drop the grapple onto the flotsam I'm getting a lot more, I still need to see if it's not just coinsidance.

After waip I have the main character until only 63 level, and him on all lack points, so as subsidiary skills I have distributed between two int-craft accounts

Yup, very common way to get around game mechanics is to use alt crafters. I've done it myself before.

to ride a bear, you need a second level of skill, for a comfortable ride, and a third level of battle cry.

for comfortable and safe control of the ship you need the ability of the crew to control the sails (third level), and slowing down the speed of flooding (third level)

combat skills absolutely not necessary, as it is much more practical to fight without getting off the bear.

for safety, you must wear a pair of pistols, just in case, but they do not require special skills for shooting.

under desire can be around the find positive moments, of well-disposing available skills, and can be exits in sea without training, or Caribbean and yelling that "every hour want there is and to drink" instead of to boost resilience individual.

To top tier ride, including commands 3, natures cry & touch 3 feats, you need taming 1&2, Advanced taming 1&2 and Breeding 1,2&3.

Thats a lot of taming and breeding knowledge to be good in the saddle.

Of course if they seperated them as they should, they would also need to redo the skill points so people wouldn't just be able to get every combat, riding, sailing and survival skill if they took no practical skills.

the engine's associated assets might give a game a general feel of reminiscence as you mentioned but i can guarantee you that if enough creativity is put into something it can be completely different.

about half life 2, no, it doesnt bother me if the have similar assets because they are totaly different, if you get to play ARK you will quickly notice the problem i am referring about is way wider then just asset recycling, is a giantic copy paste that also includes collision mechanics, movement mechanics, sounds, taming mechanics, even the how you drink water in early game is exactly the same, hell they even have the exact same bugs. i am pretty sure that if you got the left overs of another person's food as your food in a restaurant you would complain, yet here people even defend it like beggars who simply cannot afford themselfs something better.

you are free to like and enjoy the game if you do so and i will never critizice you for that, but you gotta understand that the gaming industry is a sinking ship in wich companies feel entitled to do just about anything to grab some easy money, if we allow that to continue the only thing awaiting ahead of us is a heavy drop in games's quality and an exponential increase in its price.

If you'd just started this post with "Atlas is too much like Ark for my taste", you could have avoided 4 pages of asset re-use arguments which you've now said you don't have a problem with.

I agree, Atlas is very much like Ark. I also bought this game on the assumption of Ark with pirates, so was not was not dissapointed when I got Ark with pirates.

  11. Chuck them, they are useless, along with the carrage and the cargo saddle BP's.

there are a few others you can just chuck away too, scissors and a few others, you'll get to know all soon enough when you do maps.

They have been there since the start, just one of those stupid things you need to just accept with this game.

N1 northeast island has tons of tin and cobalt. Cobalt cobalt is in small silver rocks and tin is dark brown and slightly bigger

While it's good to know not just where things are, but where good quantities are, this topic was started before the last wipe and a lot of locations are different. (my entry above for example, it's now a freeport)

You would be best served starting a new topic for this.

Not really jack. I didnt say no one should play PvE. However, it's lame to complain about this type of shit if you wanna play PvE.

The game has a built in way to solve this, but only in the form it was designed for.

Ill never understand why, but the devs thought it a good idea to make a PvE version of a PvP game. You wanna play it, go ahead. Ofc its silly, and presents silly situations like what the OP is complaining about becuase it's an afterthought to the design and intent.

So by all means, love it up, but dont bring this shit on the forums becuase you play PvE and wish it was PvP. Just go play PvP.

You got it the wrong way round, blaming the people that just want to play the PVE game. Don't you think your ire would be better placed with the people doing the greifing as they are the ones on a PVE server acting against other players?

You have one thing right though, splitting the game into so many types, Official, Blackwood, Single Player, and unofficial and PVP and PVE in each of these. How the hell are they meant to fix the bugs on all of these and hope to move forward with development.

Sooo just to add this. If the silo is a base wide thing. Why not be able to store recources in there? And crew repairing ships using those materials instead.

Makes more sense to me than having a ships recources box on land for storage. As its just pure storage. Isnt that what silo's are for?

That a good idea, but a silo!. even as it is I always imagine the crews digging around in the loose berries trying to find the gold thats sunk to the bottom.

More realisticaly you'd want a bursar item, a bloke sat at a desk with sacks of berries one side and a chest of gold the other.

And for your idea: A workshop like structure.

Offloading ships is a pain as it is even with the encumbered perk.  Having some sort of crane or use the ballistas harpoons as zipline for Cargo racks would be cool. Or just beeing able to pull racks onto Land close to its destination.

Take a closer look at the cargo rack, it is a crane! shame it doesn't work.

I understand what you are saying; I only use feeding trough's, p bags, and the silo. Food larders seem a waste for me but it all depends on what you are doing in the game. Speaking of longer storage time just realized I should put the companies cooking berries in the silo since the silo holding berries makes the hard to get (have to travel grid squares for) berries like sea grapes; blackberries;  Schisandra, strawberries, etc spoil a lot less....So Thx u.

larders have the same spoil bonus as feeding troughs that feed you tames, and crew will be fed from a silo before a larder, it is also nicer visualy to have in a cookhouse.

Not using a trough and using silo, leaves the larder redundant as a feeding device, making it ideal for bulk storage of crops.

Using the silo as berry storage is great for the spoil timer, just watch out for which berries your crew eats! don't want them munching your blackberries when you have many thousands of schisandra in the next stack.
