  1. 7 of 1 is how many farmhouses are anywhere near my base. I cannot place a Farmhouse ANYWHERE on a the pve server.

     

    Why is there 7 of 1? Logically there could never be more than 3 of 1 because of the nature of circles.

     

    UNLESS! they where hack, exploited, or some administrator was STUPID enough to change the radius on persistent server in the middle of a season.

     

    I'm so sick of your garbage content drops. I have to play this game because my wife love the pets. The least you devs can do, is stop being completely irresponsible with every single patch.

     

    Reduce the decay timer to one day and fix your garbage.

  2. Well i see that lawless is there for people to stepping stone out of freeports. Okay so it IS that, and even while settled by some permanent residents, it still is that. While based on lawless i do not try to hinder others on the island, or block off resource nodes, if some dude is building a schooner on the other side of the island, i let him do his thing, if he starts triggering my puckles more than id like, now we have a conflict. 

     

    Where i am going with this now that we,ve established that dudes can build a schooner on lawless, and you can, on most all of them. Is that there is a second use for lawless. It is the only pirate heaven. And this game requires a pirate heaven so that mega companies can have to deal with pirates.. Because if you have only megas on claimed land, and no safe heaven for pirates, well then you have just a war game, not a pirate game..

     

    And before you say "pirate themed" or whatever snappy its not a pirate game  comment youre thinking about typing, just remeber you ARE getting a pirate hat for compensation for the wipe, and with that in mind i think we can conclude that it is a pirate game... 

     

    So really what im saying, is if i cant "small tribe" or better named "pirate company" in lawless "pirates heaven" well then it just makes that PIRATE hat, just useless doesnt it? May as well just give us navy hat instead hey?

Can we add toggles to turrets to include every possible MOB flag type and toggle them?  Up to killing absolutely everything except the turret owner.  People inside alliances and companies can steal from there members. itd be great to designate an area to no admittance under the penalty of a puckle to the face.

    I would assume that repair would not rigger on anything recently damaged, for whatever time. Therefore not raid defense at all. And it would only need to tick repair at the same interval as decay. Once an hour tick 100 damage repair 100 damage.


  6. if there is a repair building to negate the damage, that would actually be perfect, thing will autodecay quickly and dudes would actually have to do stuff on the island, instead of just grief and fast travel in every 3 days... (also another reason to disable fast travel between servers. let alone be able to select anywhere as a home server.) 


  7. @gnihar well yeah there is that. And it could be that they do that and ruin lawless living.   Ill tell you... Ive lost lots of buildings and boats..... Ive only lost one boat and NO buildings to enemies... Everything else was demo'd and sunk either by appropriation or incompetents by people in the mega company i was in.. I wasn't happy until i left them and went to lawless.. The LORD and VASSAL system in place is not very considerate to the individuals playing inside of these mega companies. And the game mechanics NEARLY require you to be in a mega company/alliance to be able to play on claimable land at all.  So if they ruin lawless then it really will be a sad sad day.

  8. I am pro lawless rules. The lawless rules are much better than the claim flag systems. the only thing appealing about a claim is having a tax bank, once youre over the fact that you can farm your own resources just fine without a tax bank, the disadvantages of the claiming system make it so completely undesirable for any player that is adept enough to defend their own base without a zerg to fast travel in and save them. Lawless becomes the clear choice for anyone that has thought enough about the liabilities of each system. The new claim system proposal sounds even worse than the existing, and so.... More lawless servers please.

    When they walk into your base perimeter and you cant kill them.... and then pvp flags... and they drop explosive kegs on your boat. Cuz you couldnt kill them... or just drive 8 fully manned galleons to your front door.... wait for pvp to flag and unload 300 well placed cannons on your base... cause you couldnt stop them from sailing up to your front door.... Im ridiculous for not thinking through? really, is that so.

    Dont you guys remember what dudes did in freeports when you PVE'd  trolls and griefers? You know before you killed the freeports with massive decay. Youre just setting up a griefer/exploiter playground... I cant defend myself on my own ship. and my own base...

  11. Put a decay timer on flags withing a radius the size of a flag, if no company member triggers the event. flag goes poof. Timer 24hours? 4 days? 

     

    Also if you disable fast travel between servers, and only allow respawn in the server youve died or a freeport. Then poof EZ

    the gold upkeep idea is an interesting one with each claim costing exponentially more. i think this would be a decent trade-off although i would assume that this would not effect larger companies as mush a smaller ones due to having more people to farm maps. you would most likely have solo players up in arms, but i will say this... i am a solo player with over 30k gold just wasting away with nothing to spend it on. gold isn't that hard to come by.

    that being said, i do like # of claims tied to discovery points a bit better. this rewards the most dedicated players and still eliminates claim spamming. start with 1-2 and gain 3-4 more over time as you reach higher DPs. you might need to re-balance some of the bigger bosses giving so many DPs since a solo or small company won't necessarily be able to kill the kraken, etc.

    taxes, just another incentive to claim spam. needs to be reworked or removed.

    Feels like, but if someone raids you and gets you out. theyll CLAIM your base. Theyll Own it. and demo it. In lawless, you want me out? you have to blow it ALL up.

    One of the attractive points to dis-allowing cross server teleportation, is that it makes sailing mandatory for defenders. So enabling only to ship completely circumvents the goal. 

    So one boat sails there and 120 dudes spawn in. That aint right. If your 5 grids away it should take you almost two hours to get there... which is... how long it takes to steal a flag yeah?   But nope. if your 5 grids away, you're only minutes away from defending EVERY bed in the entire atlas.. 

     

    When you sail 3 grids to steal a flag, it takes you 1+ hour to get there. you risk traveling, you risk the bears, you risk the boat, the oil jars etc.  BUT if you leave your home island to go run 5 grids to get salt. No risk at all, cuz if you get attacked you just teleport back and you have a ready kit and mortar shot waiting for you as soon as you land from your inter dimensional  wormhole sliding.. I mean i guess theres mermaids and krakens. why cant pirate fly through time and space? yeah?

    lowering a company's max members is the only reasonable thing when that kinda stuff happens if a server only holds 150 it would be reasonable  to limit them to 1/3 of that 50 members 

    splitting big companies into smaller alliances would reduce this bed fast travel issue as well 

    Not even a little bit. Companies and alliances are managed in discord. not in game. Reducing the company maxes, would only mean they have to prepare more beds to teleport in the beta companies.   

     

    Every successful large scale faction MMO forces you to travel to your destination. Teleportation has to be extremely limited, or else you may as well be playing a MOBA yea?

    "Zerging pvp arena somewhat kinda survival if you choose to RP kinda sorta MOBA Teleporty game." NEH... i dont want that. i want "MMO PVP SURVIVAL TERRITORY CONTROL FACTION WARFARE PIRATE GAME"  

     

    And again. most importantly. Its shipping lanes and forts and ports. If i risk my boat to steal a flag in o12 , and your in a3, you should have to risk your boat to come to 012 to defend. You just get to teleport in. and my guys teleport in... why do we build anything other than a ramshacke sloop then?

     

    "Hey george we need gems."    

    "Hey okay bruce ill teleport 5 grids over and farm them while you sail over the speed brig."

     

    also an issue hey?  Controling multiple islands and rare resources means that large companies have all the stuff to make masses of EVERYTHING. With minimal risk.

     

    Just sail a boat that cant be caught by anything holding cannonballs with minimal risk of confrontation, to somwhere that youve already prestaged goods because you just teleported over there.

     

    and you can hold all these locations because???   Oh yes, because you can teleport there. because we are Pirate/celestial diety, i suppose.

    This could be a working solution. 

    However i reaaaly think, because the game is based around shipping lanes and forts n ports. that sailing needs to be mandatory. and the fact that unless youre in one of the two major alliances, you have little chance to own a claim flag, suggests that inter-server teleportation creates unbalance in the economy and power distribution.  You know mega-companies have whole islands that are barely inhabited. You put down a claim flag. all of a sudden there's 50+ dudes that seem to live there.

     

    It takes as little as 20 minutes to claim a flag. In 20 minutes. 200 dudes across the map are alerted. it takes 2 minutes to fast travel and you and your 12 buddies, in a server populated at 14 players, all of a sudden, are facing a server cap population... Being a shipping and commodity game, they should have to sail in and risk there boats on the open water, just like you did when you came to try and steal that measly ONE flag, just so you could actually own ONE flag. But you dont, do you? and you wont, because they are coming, and they have 2000 flags, and they can teleport from anywhere to right on top of you. 


  17. In my opinion. you should not be able to travel across server line via beds on pvp servers. This is a pirate game. Theres hardly any boats for miles. I sailed for 6 hours and saw TWO un-anchored ships the whole voyage.  As well as territory control. How is any small group ever supposed to take a piece of land. if mega companies can spawn in players and allies from all ove the atlas, the moment you set a claim flag down..

     

    If you run out of beds on a server. you go to the freeport. 

     

    no fast travel between servers.. that is PVE rules.
