Simply put... not 'true' I have been able to 1> place a single claim, on an island in a temperate zone... after hitting several looking for inactive owners & large pre-existing claims and started a settlement on an lawless island. While difficult, the outer lands while harsh do offer some available areas...though they require more active maintenance and care... (EX: to maintain a raft/ship with a bed you can spawn @/to)

Sheehs tonight it's been hideous.... logged in one time to see 4-5 vultures attack my roof... no sooner i get through them, then it's a wolf... then two more fly inside and start damaging everything. It's a lawless grid, so it's not like I can spawn inside, and sure as heck cant melee the darn wolf down.. and if the raft/ship is too close the damn things attack it.

  4. Yea, the last several spawns... I can't friggin walk/run/creep or crawl...
  5. I've run into this issue 3-4 times now..... I'll sail across a zone line... and cross, of get a fatal error.... 1> Instance I got back in, to the spawn screen 2> Instance I spawned back on my raft.... when I died, the 'problem' became apparent. Upon death, the spawn selection screen shows the ship/raft @ the zone line. If I try to spawn at the ship, the map screen turns solid screen... stays that way for approx 5 seconds then takes me back to the spawn selection screen. I have recovered the rafts 2 times... the bed would work to fast travel out, but fast travel/spawn would still have the raft on the grid line. One raft, I crossed into another zone after recovering... but ti did not update/fix. To this date, the map/respawn map still show the raft at the original grid line.
  6. I was not seeing these as options when placing the Wood roof... hence ^. Apparently my work schedule is finally biting me in the arse.
  7. This is part of what initiated this query.... there's a local structure utilizing wooden ramps... which I don't see in any of my current options.

  9. How do you go about rotating walls, ceiling pieces etc? I've seen ceiling pieces places on the vertical, walls, doors etc placed at a 45 degree angle to the ground... but I have no clue how to go about doing this... I've heard 'Q' before placing, regardless of what I try, I've been limited to the snap grid.
  10. the more and more I see, it seems like more slapped together shyte than thought out changes based on any real testing...
  11. Sailing with the wind, drop your sails...and you seemingly immediately stop. Drop the sails, while sailing into the wind in a harbor/shallow... drift, drift, drift. If you're facing the wind, and rotate the sails to a negative angle... the ship should move backwards while turning... NOT sit like the arse is planted again a bloody wall. If your sail it 180 to your facing...and your facing into the wind, the ship should be trying to go backwards... particularly the bloody raft, not sit still. It's amazingly east to get 'stuck' against objects...particularly shipyards due to ^.

Crossed from M6 to N6, rcvd fatal error..... once I was able to get back in, I spawned at my 'home' server.... briefly I could see my raft on the map in n6, however I could not fast travel to the bed. Never recieved a message that the raft was sunk.... logged out & back in, raft is awol.... now are maps aren't showing your location (presumably changes to make room for 'cartography'...
  13. Consider the impact in regards to taming... yuo don't want to kill the darn thing, now you've got to carry supplies to repair the bow and repair it between feeding etc... That's gonna be 'fun' (note sarcasm)... .25 a shot, .5 flaming, ok I can deal... smething like this, but 1 pt a shot?
  14. SO let's see... crash @ 21:00, with an 'update pending' in 30 minutes.... Wake up approx 5 hours later, to see it's a repeat of 'EA Launch'.
  15. gnna second this shyte.... Seems the further I go, more and more of the annoying pieces of shyte show up in my path... I passed through one zone trying to dodge no less than almost 15-20 of the damn AoD, lvl 5 to 37... on a damn raft, no soon I get clear of one pod then there's another. Far as I can tell the 'system' is deliberately spawning the things in the path of sailors. Give em a path, route and areas rather than jsut plunking the darn things down. It's bad enough some of the resources are a pita to get and req's crossed fingers someones got some to trade rather than trying to sail across the darn map for as rare as some area.
  16. They do, you have to 'examine' the pet so to speak and allocate it's stats in order for the level to increase... much like you have to your own.
  17. Consider... If the char lvl cap is 50... you get 100pts, Full BM is 100pts approx with the current costs... Now for BC, you need a tannery and bolas... if you're going solo, definitely not going full BM...not enough pts. Full, BM..going to be garthering.. a lot for exp. Imagine there might be a few folx that want to be full time ship builders, cooks etc.. but not a lot. (I'll check the pts once servers back up)

  19. I can grok the concept of the change...but the severity, of some of the costs.. Beastcraft, 1 each for the basics... ok, after having to take hand to hand (2) to get Beastcraft (2), Taming Proficient is 2, fine... Riding 2 is a REQ for Taming 2, Commands 2 & Breeding 2....costing 4 pts. <smh> 2 pts were great... , 3 ok... but 4? Taming 2, Breeding 2, Commands 2 all 4 pts each.... <smh> Improved Taming (taming 3?) is only 4, Ride 3 is 8... ok i can kind of see that, Natures touch is 4 ok... Havent worked the numbers for pts/lvls to end, but offhand seems a Tier 1 - 1, Tier - 2, Tier 3 -4, Tier 4 -8 kind of thing would be more...inline
  20. That would seem pretty darn close to what I'm seeing... It's kind of a catch 22 for them & a heck of balancing issue.. trying to prevent a horde/traffic jam/parking lot of rafts while ensuring enough 'time' to gather/prepare for 'sailing' onwards from the starter areas.
  21. updated: noonish to 2:35 pm lost just over 2000 pts, so an approximate 1k decay per hour, anchored in a harbor?
  22. Seconding this.... between 9pm - 7am, raft lost almost 8000 pts, 7:30-am to noon - approx 2500 pts

    Good question, at the rate they're 'fixing' things... quite a few people are probably going to find out before they can get back in.
  24. This has me wondering if they having taming....disabled in the starter areas. I have yet to see a 'taming bar' it's either a loop of 'feed', 'does not want to be tamed' or after several, the 'feed to tame' option locks and place and you do nothing but continue lose/waste items.
  25. Hurry up and wait, and wait... while these Devs try to figure out what they're doing.
