Exactly we pretty much have a arsenal of weapons but not allowed to use them. It seems every time a new "meta" for dealing with AoTD they come in and nerf it.

Honestly i have no idea how to take on higher lvl maps now. My company has got a legendary map and we cant do it. We threw 5 bears at it first go failed. We just tried now with 10 bears and failed worst then before. As of this moment we dont have the means to get a crab as we havnt got submarine Bp yet. honestly i dont know what creature we can use at this time to do the maps.

If anyone has a suggest in i am all ears.

Not the best of options, but given the sitaution you can do a couple things.

    1. Wait on GS fixing the issue and risk the map spoiling.

    2. Contact local land owners/megas.  Sell them the map at 2-5x gold listed on map.  I know lots of people willing to spend a good chunk of change on a legendary map.  Very rare occurrence.

    3. If you have a good relationship with any of them get them to join your company with crabs to kill the AoTD.  This way they get a good chunk of XP and toss them some other benefits as needed.

  2. Hot zones:  Every 2 hours a random zone is elected the hot zone.  When this happens there is a server wide announcement specifying which zone is hot.  Also if possible the map shows which grid is the current hot zone.

This zone has increased SoTD spawn rates at higher levels, increased BP and gold drops for SoTD and shipwrecks.  Also maps for this zone become boosted during this time increasing gold and BP drops.  Maybe increase high level wild creatures (more level 30 spawns) as well so the breeders have something to look for.

This will increase zone and sailing traffic in and around these areas as everyone looks to cash in on bonanza.  This should increase sea combat as people look to profit off of these events.

I stole this directly from Shadowbane.  I loved this game mechanic.  You could profit from this greatly and also always guaranteed a good fight.

  3. I think players are a bit more skilled now so SoTD's in greater numbers is less of a concern than it used to be.  I remember how crazy it was at one point and would not mind seeing that on occasion.

IDEA: Random 2 hour hot zones.  When a zone goes hot its announced to the server and that zone has increased spawn rates, higher end SoTD and increased payouts for BP's and gold.  That could make for some fun sea battles.

  4. It might be me imagining things, but I feel I know how much I am getting from some metal nodes based on visual size.  Certain nodes I harvest daily always give the same unless its 2x or I use my harvest feat, but even then I know what I am getting out of them.  It does seem more consistent than say trees do for thatch and wood.

  5. I can confirm yes the added melee damage on tools increases the amount of mats you gather per swing.  If a tree is worth 200 wood and you normally hit for 25 it takes 8 swings.  If you have better tools and now hit for 40 it takes 5 swings.  This allows you to gather at a faster rate and move on to the next tree sooner.

As to alcohol.  I am not sure.  Never tried.

  6. Also go defeat the Abominable Snowman.  The harvest boost plus hand harvest skills are a huge bonus.  Mix that with the encumbered bonus (250% movement speed I think) makes it so tames are not needed.  I still use them because I like to, but I know plenty of people who never use them once they get these skills and feats.  At that point any melee bonus on tools is icing on the cake.

  7. As others have said its inconsistent.  This issue does not happen most of the time in my experience.

    Best practices.

    1.  Put all gear away so naked.

    2. Commit suicide.

    3. Log off.

When you log back in you are free to spawn where you want.

  8. We like setting one tame to wander and short/medium range aggression.  Set the rest to follow that wandering tame and attack target.  Check up on them once in awhile to see how long they last.

We once had an island with 50 hogs doing that.  It was pretty barren for a couple of weeks.  Was really funny when people would turn up dead in the company logs for going there to do maps.

  9. Helps to know the server.

Look for islands mentioning "renters" or "bobs" in the name.  These are typically owned by large companies that allow small groups to settle on them.  They get the tax revenue and you get limited protection from being under their umbrella.  Just gota play nice to the others as companies hate it when renters are fighting one another.  Pain in the arse when its "he started it" arguments all day.
