Just make people not in your company count as people on boat and make all crafters able to be pincoded fixed. I mean yeah they could kick people out fill them up sail home and re-invite but will make it a pain at least. Megas have big ships anyways so doesnt mater to much.

The way you said “just” do this and that means you think wildcard can just magically do that. It is never “just” with them.

If they added all those changes they would mess up everything else so bad the whole game would implode.

Yoy gotta realize who you are dealing with before you use the word “just”

Personally I think player aging and eventual permadeath is a bad idea. I really hope the devs don't implement this system.

Oh they are going to alright. They don’t like solo players and guess what? If you are solo you can’t breed which also means if you are solo you will lose everything.

rather it is Megas, ghost ships, wildcard fails, or aging/breeding, the solo guy is going to lose his stuff every time

Dude we are alive but this is to much fck Priates XD

Yeah if any of these try hards that play this game think they are pirates, all they gotta do is get close to a  ghost pirate ship and the scrubs get a quick reality check on what it is to be an actual pirate 😂😂😂

Fair enough. My fault for reading too much into your statement. I agree that keeping expectations low is wise. Being pleasantly surprised in the end beats being disappointed. Plus Wildshots track record of dealing with stuff like pve pillar spam in Ark does not leave one optimistic about this.

Very good point. Law of unintended consequences can be a @#$&*

Truly is a shame. I was actually hoping I would like how this game turned out. Unfortunately that is not the case. No doubt another company will make another one at some point though

I agree attitudes are unlikely to change. Disagree that GrapeCard should do nothing to address behavior by making grieving less easy and obvious.

Quick side note though. If they do fix that bug it will almost certainly make it to where everybody can have unlimited weight on a ship though but using the containers they “fixed”

beneficial to the Megas at least. Going out on one voyage and coming back with 1 million metal. Not a bad days work

Never said they shouldn’t do it and I think they should. I just meant he should keep his hopes low if he thinks they can stop grieving

The only reason there is a massive fleet of rafts now is because of the ghost ships. Sure the maps are big enough for 3-5, but where's the ghost ship illusion? At night only under starry skies and moonlit nights. Or coming out of severe nighttime typhoons! Not just have them spawn in with a % chance like every other creature.

I know you want this to be a pirate game and all but this is really just a game for mega companies to go and squash small companies. This game will never be what you envisioned

what should have been and otherwise was a good patch turned into an absolute shit show.

how cool would it have been, had then been rare, to see screen shots and videos of highend players and content creators seeing these things maybe even taking them out. Giving the rest of us something to look forward to. Instead we got this. Best case now is there removal and rebalance and even when reintroduced they will be nothing but bad memories.

Be very careful if they take something out it will most definitely negatively affect at least 5 different other aspects of the game. My guess would be a bug that would disable players making ships in general.

Remember, these guys aren’t good at programming so I guarantee ghost ships are connected to a lot of other things

    3 minutes ago, DOA said:

I dont fully agree with the above.

Ghost ships should be able to attack anything. Cause if you do not allow that, you will have massive fleets of rafts.

I like the idea of 3-5 ghost ships per grid. And just leave it at that.

Other than that, and the connections issues: GREAT game! Keep up the good work. Thank you.

They aren’t really doing good work. Every update comes with a new bug that wasn’t there before. One step forward and one step back isn’t good

Just tried sailing away on my sloop thinking they were fixed. 20181228083337_1.thumb.jpg.0df0767c5b9337799140810eee524aca.jpg

    So real talk here GrapeShot:

Ghost Ships - What's wrong with them now?
    1. They attack anything larger then a raft, so now we have raft simulator
    2. They spawn in crazy amounts on every server it seems.
    3. They are too fast, seem to ignore wind? Not sure but you can't outrun them in a sloop.
    4. Everyone is stuck on whatever Island they are currently on because of ghost ships.

Ghost Ships - What they should be!
    1. An insanely rare spawn, 10% the rate of Tornado storms on the sea.
    2. Should only spawn at night.
    3. Should not attack at minimum sloops or smaller. Or do a gold check on the Boats. If Ghost ship level 1. Maybe they'll attack people with 100+ gold on ship etc.
    4. NEVER should there ever be 1 Ghost ship per server.
    5. Ghost ship should be so rare of an encounter it frightens you, and only the top players will risk the battle with them.
    6. Have 1-3 ghost ships on entire world and have them travel around and people can track and kill them.

    Ghost Ship Quick Fixes:
    1. Disable them for now, they are ruining any experience for the majority of players.
    2. Leave them out of game until the above fixes and changes have been made. And I'm talking RARE, and max 1 per sector.

Anyways I really hope the Grapeshot team Sees this and let me know what you think.

Upvotes would be nice if you agree, let the Devs see this as a possible solution to the problem.

The devs don’t come on here. They won’t see it. Not bad ideas but they won’t see it.

They are way too busy freaking out because the game is broke to read forum posts. These forums are just a place for people to vent

Evidently other players can sink your ships on PVE by either overloading with weight or going over the ship's crew stat.  I thought that the crew limit just restricted NPC crew count?  Either way this should not be a thing on PVE as this exploit is allowing players to sink other player's ships.  Should be patched so that going over weight just slows or stops movement, not sink the vessel.

Also, if you have workstations on your ship these can make it more convenient to overload the vessel since they can just load them up with stone (like a smithy).  To fix this we should be able to put pin codes on any structure that has an inventory.

There will always be wildcard pve grieves. Even if they patch it they will figure out another way. Always do

If it's on your claim you can steal it. Outside of that build a container on it, fill the container with junk until the raft goes over weight (900 usually). Once this happens the raft will rapidly lose health and sink in a few minutes.

First off I like you post so the rest of this isn’t against you, because you did help him.

i love these types of responses. Oh you want to play the game normally? Ok here is what you do, I need you to do 5 different  abnormal things and then after that you should be able to play the game normally again 😂😂😂

I mean it is good to find ways around things. The pathetic part is that you have to always find a way around things 👍

i reached the level 51 today, i saw that i have to find more new discoveries to raise my Maxlvl, but how many discoveries have i to find? and for how many levels?

I hope that someone know the answer...

There will probably be another wipe soon so losing a 51 character is a lot better than losing an 81 character 😂

You must join a group or you will just die over and over. This is not a gameplay mechanic. Its just a fact of life. I hope this helps you when making descions. Notice how none of these say anything about running to the forums and crying about how life is not fair. Welcome to a sandbox game.

    Nah it’s just a broken game 😂

SO we age in this game, but how do we prevent us from losing skill when ur characther dies of age?

We all ready know the breeding system will start off being broken though. So yes until they get it tuned up I imagine that a lot of players will lose their characters while they try to fine tune it 😂

Ships of the Damned are still out of fucking control. Just lost two more Sloops. After the supposed patch. The thing came right up and just nuked them down near our dock. We didn't attack it either. Then got stuck in our dock and started firing on our base.

NERF SHIPS OF THE DAMNED INTO THE GROUND OR REMOVE THEM FROM THE GAME. THEY NEED TO BE A 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.1 CHANCE TO SPAWN AND ONLY ONE AT A TIME.

You know wildcard isn’t good at updates right? Don’t even bother reading the patch notes, just wait to see what is different or more likely, worse. 😂

I suggest to expand map as expansion or DLC or reduce the player amount.

The last thing they need is more money from a dlc. Even though they said there would not be any paid dlcs I am sure those snakes will still go back on their word. Which would be kind of good because going back on their word was something they said they learned from and that way they could show everyone that they haven’t learned and they still haven’t changed

  17. I am sure you have figured this out by now(hopefully) but just in case you haven’t noticed I’ll fill you in.

coming from someone that played ark for a long time you need to know about wildcard updates.

every single time there is an update, every time, a new bug will be added. Don’t say early access because wildcard still does it with ark 😂

you need to be prepared for that if you are going to continue playing. It is your choice to play, but if you make that choice you also have to deal with nothing actually getting fixed. Minus one bug, add one bug(maybe more). That isn’t progress.

the main core of the game is already done. They are big fixing now. They said it would be “early release” for 2 years. That is a lot of bug fixes

@SpeedInc...perfect example.  One that I can speak on as well.   I bought my first brand new vehicle in 2015.  Not just first brand new, but first vehicle with under 150,000miles, first vehicle from a dealership.  It was my, "Oh my god I AM successful" moment.  It's a 2015 GMC 3500 Dually Denali.

I absolutely love that truck.  BUT..in the first year it had an Airbag recall (OMG DEVS THIS IS BASIC STUFF), a brake recall (OMG DEVS THIS IS BASIC STUFF) and now a warranty extension for something with the DEF system leaking exhaust smell into the cab!  (OMG DEVS!)     It makes me laugh...a vehicle with an 80,000 sticker price and recalls for things that are ummm….basic life safety features?

We are all alpha testers.  And we will pay for the privilege of being on the front lines of technology, newness, and shiny things.   It is what it is.   My truck has not killed me yet.  I still love it just as much as I did when I bought it.   And I accept with this game (my first EA title...I'm usually years behind due to life, work etc...) that I will have to suffer through MANY hiccups.  It is not the end of the world.

The way some people react in these threads or any threads about games is how I would react if I got a call from one of my foremen that an employee had fallen off the roof and died and OSHA was on site.    Seriously.

Horrible example by the way. Privilege? Oh god you are brain washed. Working for free is not a privilege. And testing something this broke is not a privilege as well. You are actually doing the developers themselves a great injustice because now instead of using actual skill to make a game,  they just just use the trial and error approach. Gaming companies are so pathetic now. Smh

the next generation is going to have trash games when the industry keeps going this way

Anyone saying Early Access doent equal Alpha/Beta....When was the last time you heard of Alpha code sign ups?  Alpha and Closed Beta testing used to be something highly desirable.  People used to buy codes from people.  When was the last time you saw a closed beta that didn't require early buying of the game?

I remember back in the late 90's early 2000's waiting up all night long for alpha or beta signups to begin, and having to fill out applications for them.  Computer specs, previous game testing experience, etc...

Now its just Early Access, or a "Pre-Order" that comes with a few days early access, or a "Founders Donation"   Because game companies realized back then that people would pay to test their game.  That's exactly what we were doing back then.  You could get a small fortune if you sold your Everquest/Ultima Online/WoW closed beta code/account.  Back then generally alpha was done in house.  Now a days there isn't money for an in house testing team.  And why would they?  They know we will pay for it.  Its proven.

Yep and the gamers are at fault. The gaming industry has gotten lazy but that is because the gamers have allowed them to.

now developers are able to bring out anything in a broken state and call it early access. It is really pathetic when you think about it. These devs shouldn’t be proud at all about this game. What they should do I look down at themselves with shame.

Of course they won’t do that because of these white knights that will give every excuse for them. The white knights are pathetic as well. These people are worthless to the gaming community and not only do not contribute to it but they set our community back decades.

this is a very poor excuse for even an early access game. I don’t care if you say it is early access or if they try to claim early access. It’s nothing but an excuse for very poor development and I am not going to just let it happen. Except me to be here for a long time.

You all realize that even fully released games have balancing issues? and this is an EA MMO!

Personally, I don't mind the extra skill points required, people had maxed out the specific tree in a few days when it's designed to take weeks/months.

As for the ghost ships, me and 2 others built a Schooner in a few hours, and sailed through 4 ghost ships attacking us, took some damage but escaped due to us all working the sails and wind. Now we've no idea how long this ship will last, but we'd be stupid not to think it's at CONSTANT risk! otherwise I'd just go and play Blackflag.........

Loving the game so far, love the difficulty of it too, and we play PvP. Died a bunch of times, lost our base a few times, we were on our 7th raft before building the Schooner....

Yeah Megas will never be affected by balance anyways 😂

the small companies don’t have a chance so it’s all good to make it harder on them.

Cant wait to see the people running from this 😂

WTF is going on with this Develeoper?

Theres server bring down or locked up for way over 12hrs and they just ignore this? Not even a restart?

"Not Wildcard" at a new all time low?

This might be a bad time to bring this up but you realize some ark servers were down for over 2 weeks and that was just a few weeks ago 😂 over a year after the official release of ark 😂

Good luck dude. But if you ark familiar with ark you should realize how long this takes 👍

If you read the dev notes they just posted they are encouraging people to claim mass amounts of land in both modes.  It’s not changing.

Oh I already know it’s not changing. I was just saying they were idiots for doing it. I know full well wildcard doesn’t take anything out after they put it in, no matter how bad they mess up.

the main reason they don’t is because of how much they suck and they realize that by taking something out they will negatively affect 5 other things because they are horrible programmers

  23. 1 minute ago, Andro Bourne said:

There is quite a few ways to fix the issue. Make the radius a little larger and then limit everyone to one land claim flag only. This way smaller companies can still get their piece of the pie but larger companies get a larger piece. Done and done.

They will still get the whole map. As I said to the other guy the 300 player companies will split and split and split until they have a massive amount of flags.

in fact once an island is fully captured all they need to do is have is have one person in that company to keep the company going while the others go and capture more.

believe me, Megas have not and will not ever be affected by balance changes

In real life the more people you have access to, the more likely you will win. Out economy, out manpower, out power anything smaller. Thats how life works. Its not a gameplay mechanic thats the problem. The problem is you have no friends.

Is that why people play games like this? They can’t make it on real life so they try to make this the real life experience they will never have? 😂😂😂

the most successful in this game are some of the least successful in real life 👍
