Just checked and numbers are already going down. This is not a good sign. Usually they keep steady for a little while after an update, but with how small the influx was after the update they really can’t afford to already be losing people.

I mean these devs only update every several months so this is going to be bad. They were already at 800 average but this will probably break that record.

the losers living in rookie cove because they are whimps will actually cause more people to leave than the Megan’s this time. The devs really showed how stupid they were with this update. The “beginner” area is now abused and manipulated than anything else. There are actually losers living in armored dock yards. Had to tell one guy on Reddit he was pathetic because he did that lmao. which it really is pathetic if you just hang out in rookie cove. We are talking true BETAAAAAAA!!!!!

anyways, this is quite possibly the worst update they have had which is saying a lot from a game that is at the bottom 100 steam games of all time. They don’t call it the hall of shame for nothing.

guess what is coming for the next update? Guaranteed they are making a new map nobody asked for only way they justify a wipe every single time. I don’t think any “player” is stupid enough to believe anything otherwise.

This is a game where you need to be on all the time. If you can’t do that you probably need to find a new game. And no, they won’t be changing that

I would quit before you get invested to be honest. Player counts are very low for a reason. There are a lot of people mad at these devs for all the crap they have done for 3 years. Play at your own risk but there are things that are just as bad or worse. Like a ship you spent a lot of time on either disappearing or sinking going to grids randomly with no fault of your own.

id be careful if I were you. You barely started so you can walk away without losing anything.

It isn’t coming to ps4 at all. That is the news. They can’t even make the game work, let alone get it to another platform. No chance. They will probably be abandoning the game soon anyways

They don’t answer support tickets and the map bug has been around for awhile. You just need to play without a map.

the funny part is, obviously, they want to move away from the normal ships you build with planks and decks and so, they move it to merchant ships they said.

it is because this is one of the main problems of the game.

the ship design in terms of balance, what you can do with it.

 

you can exploit the old ship system, we saw that multiple times with some builds on deck or even idk where (oneshot brig/gally, etc.) that would never be possible.

 

so the main problem here: balance - ship design, besides the 2nd main problem of the game, traveling time.

 

now the modular ships have one design and you can build your ship modular, how you like it, but no special builds that make the game stupid and not challenging.

 

so the ground is even with modular ships, not saying the design is beautiful, or bug/glitchfree.

 

with the carrack only 300 gold crafted right away its great!, the carrack solves the traveling time issue for me, its too fast tho maybe 5 knots less and fix nosediving if in a storm.

 

then put 3 large speed sails on it and you have it right there, the saviour of atlas, the carrack. dont forget your grappling hook ever if you leave your ship tho :D, maybe we get a ladder module soon and thats why they do not fix the ladders.

Nothing can save atlas at this point lol player count shows that.

No, they won’t be looking into it. It has been around for a long time. Get ready to spend more time looking at your games instead of sailing. Pretty pathetic when you just want to sail but have to constantly watch your animals. These devs are worthless

I feel the need to correct you. The game got as low as 800 average players with only about 400 at night. That is truly pathetic.

they actually made the steam bottom 100 list and number 67 at that. They call is the hall of shame. So out of the 20k plus games on steam there are only 66 other games shittier than this.

Nah, it’s way too late to even bother using the preview thing anymore. It has been out for 3 years so the “EA excuse” is done with. From now on anyone that tries to use that while defending them just telling them that is even more pathetic, which it is. These devs are completely inept.

No. Single player is very broken right now. Official servers are worse than they have ever been and the only thing worth while is the unofficial servers that have zero to do with the devs. 
 

devs definitely don’t get any credit for unofficial servers.

I also think it is worth mentioning that they are trying to manipulate steam charts. They did the update on the 27th to make sure there was a few days to raise the average player count on steam charts. 
 

Unfotunately for them even though it is slightly raising currently, they screwed all the people that couldn’t play till the weekend(which is most people). Those people have no chance anymore so we won’t see the numbers raise that high. 
 

whatever the average number is at midnight the 31st will be written in stone on steam charts and they don’t want it to be below 1k. It still will be but you can’t stop that small of a number that has been there for as long as it has been. Too late guys.

Well we are a day into the update and so far the peak players are 2100. We will have to see what the weekend holds but this is not looking good. That last update had a peak of 5200.

I have a feeling the weekend won’t bring too much because as far as official servers go, if you don’t get in at the beginning you are screwed. For pvp you will be way behind the curve for progression to where you have no chance if you wait till the weekend. For pve it will be just as bad but in a different way. By the time the weekend starts every bit of land will be claimed and have foundations and fence post literally everywhere and you will NEVER be able to build.
