  1. Can I remind everyone that this game is still in early access and feedback, no matter the scale/priority should be welcomed, not tossed to the ground by the gatekeeping community members.

I’ve seen many a post where people have used this platform to give the feedback the developers want (because it’s early access) only to be told that it’s not important.

You complain about how stale and buggy this game is yet you don’t want it fixed, you just want a forum of a game you can complain about regardless.

We’re at the ‘ark DLC’ part of the roadmap. It was written down with such tiny letters nobody even saw it, it came after the ‘screw you, PC players’ part.

The only thing I would say though is that private servers also have the disadvantage to players of closing down with no previous warning

Probably from a lack of donations from people complaining how corrupt the host is whilst simultaneously never paying in to keep the running costs going.

Jokes aside. P2W servers exist and there is nothing wrong with that nor are they against ToC’s because that only applies to official. My only issue with P2W is if there is no mention of it in its advertisement/info page because then any legitimate criticism of it is fair.

Fortunately with Nitrado, I can switch over to another game on that same server if the player count gets too low so not to completely waste money.

So you are leveraging your disposable income to get an advantage in a game over those who don't/cant do the same. This is P2W and antithetical to gaming IMHO.

    You are blatantly supporting P2W.

I'm done with this thread. Big brother is already editing it, that's at least as gross as P2W.

Don’t like it, don’t play on that server. It’s not rocket science. Everyone who joins knows what experience they are getting so something being unfair is not an issue because they are choosing to play.

Are you suggesting that the people joining these server are as stupid as the people on this thread criticising server donations on a private server?

You're the one who made the choice to pay for that server and no you shouldn't expect anything in donations.  That's why they're donations and not tithes.  If you can't afford to host the server then find one of your more trustworthy players to hand the server off too.  If players wish to donate to keep the server running it's one thing, but to try and coerce people into paying with rewards the non-paying members of your server cannot hope to get is shady as hell

I don’t expect donations, that’s not the issue here. It’s people crying about server hosts having the audacity to ask for them.

Nothing wrong with being a freeloader but to criticise a server host that asks for donations to help pay for the running costs, is just toxic.

I wouldn't pay a single penny to any random person "hosting" a server. GS has official ones for free. Don't be a peon for someone else, they can go get a job.

As someone who’s spent over £1200 on Nitrado over the last couple years, it’s comments like yours that show how entitled people are. It’s fucking expensive to host but we should just get a better paying job not expecting a penny from donations, right? We’re not forcing people to pay as its their choice to play but fuck us for having the audacity trying to get help paying for the whole experience.

  7. Each server makes up a grid, so if you want a 2x2, you’ll need 4 separate servers. Unlike Ark, Atlas doesn’t have cross-ark, instead the servers merge together to form grids.

You start with a home server, then every other server must be an extension server to add to the grid. If you only want a single server, that’s fine because you can adjust the home server settings to no longer limit the XP and level cap. Also, every server can be heavily customised, so you can add a lot of islands in yourself.

If like me, you want a fuller experience without the effort, you’ll need to run the Blackwood map (comes with a lot of flaws mind you) as it doesn’t run as a normal grid, and is a standalone server that is approximately the size of 3 normal servers.

Klei, developers of oxygen not included, they have 4-5 different games and none of the is remotely similar to eachother (i could give you a list of other developers too but i already made my point) and considering oxygen not included belongs to a very dense genre (colony building) they made the game unique by infusing it with an astonishing ammount of creativity.

if a new game uses the same assets of and old game its called a DLC or a expansion (and lets not to confuse game assets with graphical engine assets), not a new game. but ofc i dont expect someone who is unable to write a single sentence  without insults to be as smart as to realise that since i assume you would also be ok with your nearest restaurant giving you the leftovers of other clients as you food.

you guys complain about my statements and try to bash me (as if you could) but is about time you all realise the pit of bullcrap (the videogames industry in general) you are all helping to build, just remember the lower you set your own standars the lower the quality of the product you will be given. and thats not even the developers fault its actually your own.

So you are an idiot. I’ll make sure never to converse with you in the future so not to stoop to your level of idiocy.

Edit: Avoid games from Rockstar, EA, 2K, Bethesda, Activision/Blizzard, Ubisoft etc as they use the same assets from previous games.

do you realise the implications of your statment?? you are openly admitting that you guys had the intent of copy paste ARK assets into ATLAS and sell it as if it was a new game from the beggining, how cheap can you guys be!!?????

You can’t honestly be this stupid? Please name a game company that doesn’t use assets made from their other games?

This is a new game.  Do you literally know nothing about game development?  Do you not realize that when somebody leases a game engine, such as CryEngine3, which was the engine made for Crysis 3, that you are actually buying assets in that engine that can be used by you to make your "new" game?  For instance, often when people made "new" games with the Half Life 2 engine, you could see, and hear the similarities.  I was playing a game once, and knew right away that it was made using the half life 2 engine because I recognized many of the sounds.  They were literally unchanged.  Often, game makers will do that.  Use assets in the engine to make the new game.  Often, the new engine uses assets from the old engine.  Was Assassin's Creed 2 not a new game, when it released well after Assassin's Creed?  Yes, it was.  And it used many of the assets from the original game.

This is how business gets done.  You don't reinvent the wheel, when it doesn't need to be reinvented.  It's called being smart.  If you make a car, such as a Sedan, is it not a new car design, when you make a new car that looks totally different, and is a sports car, and uses many of the same parts, but they changed everything that needed to be changed, to make it a sports car, such as stronger brakes, parts for the engine to give it more horsepower, sportier seats, etc...   Is it not a new car design, just because the engine block is the same, and the wipers are the same, and the transmission is the same, with some modifications, etc?  I mean, you do know that car manufacturers do use a lot of the same parts in many of their designs, right?  And this saves us money...you do know that, right?

Of course they don’t know because they have never played any sports or franchised games.

@The D Legacy began their gaming experience with Ark.

  11. Ark was in early access a little over 2 years, so I’d imagine this game will follow suit - at least.

Going by the roadmap that’s been set out, it’s a pretty strong indicator that it’s their early access plan so we’re talking 1+ years. Once the phases are complete there will probably another polish before they start going for gold and full release of the game.

Using the roadmap, find which phase your point fits into and you’ll be able to work out how far away you’ll expect it to be addressed/worked on/added.
