Because Demo can be tedious as there is no a build mode that makes demo a 1 key press you have to deal with that bullshit wheel for every piece.

Tedious? All you have to do is demolish the floor and that's it. You built it you take responsibility instead of being lazy.

Bodies disappear when logging off?  That's news to me.  Is this a PvE thing?  On official PvP servers when you log off your avatar lays down and goes to sleep.  The body stays there sleeping until you log in next, get killed or moved.

My brother went on vacation for a couple weeks so I took his body and locked him up in a cage so he has a nice surprise when he wakes up.

As far as I was aware the bodies disappearing when logging of is only for Freeports, and that was introduced after the horrendous launch in December. I wasn't aware of it happening outside of Freeports. I could be wrong, but pretty sure bodies remain in the world.

No need for trains or cars. They have airships coming in the sailing game. That should make traveling a lot more easy. The airships weren’t even my idea, but it will definitely make traveling a lot more easy

What do you base this "easy" on? For all we know they'll have SotD airships, or add aggressive flying creatures. Don't just assume it will make travelling more easy.

After watching someone jump off with my Rhino right in front of me i tested it. Easy to check, temp remove someone from your company so he can see the timers, then test it. It probably is somehow related to the tries to protect ships on PvE in the first place, but im sure the devs will figure that one out. For now dont leave anything on the ship. Your crew can even be stolen while they sit on your sails.

No crew are only affected by this when they are idle, i.e. sweeping. This was also checked as I saw someone with 5 crew, the 4 crew manned at stations all had 7 days whilst he was online, the one sweeping had 5 days remaining.

  5. The time will vary as the auto-destruct occurs after server restart. So if 10 day timer ends and server restarts 5 minutes later then there is a 5 minute window. On the other hand if the game has just updated and servers restarted and someones structures timer ends then it may be a day or more before next restart. So the question is how long is a piece of string.

  6. Just because Ark are adding a new map doesn't mean people will stop playing Atlas and go play Ark. I quit Ark in March and have no intention of going back, regardless of the additions they are making. Lets not make assumptions of what changes one game makes will have an affect on the other game.

I don't mean to be rude or anything but how can you be so sure of this? Why would the tames auto decay rules work differently on land, than on ships...  I cant see a timer on my animals nor have I read any official clarifications on this. I am not prepared to take that risk so I have to touch all animals until I know for a fact they are all safe. Also, the problem still remains with the crew on the ships. It's very common that we get extra crew standing around on ships since we wanna transport them to another ship later on for example. Or have them standing around sweeping (repairing) is also convenient. But right now can't do any of that cause any idle crew gets stolen immediately. Before I knew about the whole ship change, around 20 crew got stolen.

It has been proven, and the steps that prove it have been provided to the Devs.

I personally tested it with someone from another company on their ship that was parked outside my base. I could claim their tames on their ship with them standing next to me. As soon as they took it on land I could not claim it. When they took it back on the ship I could not claim it. However, rather than the timer being refreshed it said claimable even though I could no longer claim it.

So touching animals on ships is pointless, you need to take them on land once every 7 days until it is fixed.

  8. I've only responded to questions I have an opinion on, if I have no idea then i'll leave the question out.

2/ What is to stop 50 people, logging out of the game, on your ship and then logging back into the game when you're in the middle of the ocean, 20-30 mins from nearest island? And then sinking it, because there's now too many crew on board?  Do non allied players count towards your crew count?

What is to stop 50 people doing that? Erm the player? Are you seriously suggesting you would log on, find 50 people sleeping on your ship and you'd think, oh well, and sail off in to the seas? Of course not, you'd use the wheel to expel them from the ship.

    42 minutes ago, Martyn said:

4/ How do you expel them? Is it a generic kick all or do you have to find each individual and then use the wheel on them, what if they're always running away/jumping etc. When expelled are they physically removed or put into the sliding motion, can they not just use your ladders and climb back on board?

I don't think details have been given but I believe it is going to be an expel all option in the wheel, I don't think you'll have to do it individually, but I could be wrong. It probably will just move them off the ship. You can always raise the ladders so they can't climb back up.

    42 minutes ago, Martyn said:

6/ Can non allied players seize an unlocked ship and ram it onto the shore?

No, regardless of whether the wheel is locked or not you can't mount the wheel.

    42 minutes ago, Martyn said:

7/ Are there protections in place to stop lower ranked players in the same company from griefing in the same way? ie New members who might just be griefers in disguise.

This is the same thing as insiding, company owners should take 100% responsibility for who they let into their company. The game developers shouldn't be responsible for player actions in that way. Although I don't know if there is anything in the Company settings that dictate what members can do or not.

    42 minutes ago, Martyn said:

8/ If the non allied dies, can they respawn on your ship, using your beds?

Why would they? What makes you think anyone outside your company can use your beds on ships? Such a strange question. It's no different from beds and bases on land.

    42 minutes ago, Martyn said:

9/ Can they fast travel to your ship?

Again where are you getting these concerns from? Just because other players can now step foot on boats on PvE why do you think they can use your beds if they are not in your company? When they say you can base on them it means you can step foot on them.

What idiot leaves tames on ships?  What moron would leave them on a ship long enough for them to become claimable?

Ok you need to cool down and think about the mechanics of this game. Ships in PvE were not boardable by non company/allies therefore there was no risk of tames being stolen. Therefore it didn't matter whether tames were left on ships or not. Also tames left on ships would not cause any agro by wild creatures.

Then when ships in PvE were boardable by other players in a recent patch this is when the issue of tames being stolen became an issue.

Before the change in mechanics no-one had any idea that tames on ships did not have their timers refreshed upon rendering.

So think about the game mechanics before you start throwing morons and idiots around.

  10. Whenever I decide to go sailing, if it hasn't rained for quite a while I often hold off until it rains and then head out afterwards to reduce the chance of hitting rain, although the doesn't make much difference when crossing grids.

Fog I absolutely hate because it cuts visibility so much, but you know the SoD AI will still see you regardless i'm sure of it. Also the cold front can also be just as bad as fog.

I've crossed grids on several occasions where I appear on the other side suddenly in front of loads of SoD's. I didn't think they spawn along the edge, but maybe they were agroed there by someone else.

If i'm traveling several grids I normally travel along the edge for several reasons, 1) not much will/should spawn along the very edge, 2) You only have to pay attention to one side for SoD spawns.

Since I got an NPC on the sails it is so much better to avoid situations, but even when I crossed grids and appeared right in front of 5 ships, they still got a few hits on me before I turned, turned sails and sped away.

But yeah over all absolutely hate it.

    Are you kidding?
Kraken 1.0 can easily be taken down with 3 brigs or 1 brig+galleon.
Kraken 2.0 we did with 2 galleons. All official. All documented.
With nice preparation organization and skilled captains there is nothing hard there.
    And the reward is beautifull:
    Kraken 1.0 Submarine
    Kraken 2.0 Perks cooldown halved
Snowman - harvesting activated perk that gives you 10 minutes x2 on all resourses. In weekends it's smth.

    Hunters.

Please note this thread was made in February. The Kraken is different from what it was back then.

The point I was getting it is that if you can see the timer, it would be reset to maximum.  Maybe what you need is a way to see the timers when you are offline.  Or maybe have an alert set to let you know when you have 24 hours left on the timer.

You aren't paying attention to what he was saying.  It's not about seeing timers when offline.

Are you aware of the current bug of animal on ships do not reset timers when you render them in? You can only reset their timers when you take them on land. Therefore, as @Kidoriwas saying, if we could see timers on animals and ships just like we currently do on structures, then the issue with tames timers not resetting on ships would have been spotted long before loads of people started having their tames stolen.

Wrong ! PVE is boring and only for warm shower takers.

Destroying a tribe solo, because they dont have skill, knowledge and a plan, that is my personal fun here.

Do you know why homo neanderthalis lost against homo sapiens ? He was more bulky, much stronger and could take more damage.

The power of imagination was missing.. the same valid for 99,998% of all Atlas players joining a mega tribe, because the IQ to archive anything on their own is missing.

What is he wrong about? His opinion that he doesn't find PvE boring or that he finds PvP boring, because I can tell you now neither is wrong when it is his personal opinion. The way he describes PvP is probably accurate for quite a few players. You may play PvP different but doesn't mean everyone else does.

Make sure you log on and interact with your animals or crew on ships or they going to go bye bye to some random person !

This is incorrect, with animals you need to take them off the ship onto land and put them back on the ship. Interacting with them on the ship will do nothing to timers. As for NPC you only need to worry if it is idle, i.e. sweeping. If so then assign it a job to refresh timer.

  15. 7 minutes ago, Grongash said:

If you didn't take them off the ship it didnt reset the timer. We tested it, render range doesn't do anything on ships, it only resets if you take them off the ship and back. The birds prolly clipped through the cage and were below.

Same goes for crew that currenlty doesnt have a "job".. You can claim the ones that spent some time sweeping the decks...

This is true, moving tames on to land and back to the ship currently fixes the issue, until the timer hits 7 days again.

As for NPC, does giving it a job actually refresh the timer, so you don't have to move it to land?

I don’t play pve but yeah I like a challenge, that is why my buddy and I always break off into a 2 man. Gotta give the game at least a small chance lol.

once it comes out on console I post some pictures. We like building big

Is it interesting big though or big square box big? 🤔

  17. 4 minutes ago, Realist said:

Yeah that doesn’t sound like too much fun. God, can you believe it was like that in ark? With all the kibble farms? People would have totally flipped out if they have to touch/mount/carry every single tame.

wondering why they changed from just the render in the first place. Are they going for a “you don’t use it, you lose it” sort of situation?

but yeah, even if not on here, they should at least make an announcement about timer reset specifications for all types on Twitter.

They didn't change it, it's unintended, I just tested it out ingame with another player, turns out it's an issue with tames on ships. Tames on land get timers refreshed just by rendering like in Ark. Hopefully the steps i've handed over to the devs pin-point the issue.
