SNK 1 Posted January 20, 2019 (edited) I am getting ready to put together a dedicated server with the following hardware: Processor: 8x Intel Xeon E5-2670 V2 2.5GHz 10 Core 25MB Cache Processors Memory: 384GB DDR3 ECC Registered Memory (6 x 16GB) Hard Drives: 8x 300GB 10K SAS 2.5 Hard Drives What type of grid size do you think I can manage with this? These chips can turbo to 3.30 GHz, have 10 cores and 20 threads each....there's 8 of them in this box. Edited January 20, 2019 by SNK

Bobs 2 Posted January 21, 2019 (edited) My thoughts, I would do a 8x8 or 7x7 on that server setup, and if Ram usage is to high maybe go 6x6. 8 servers x 8 servers = 64 total servers 64 servers at 6gb (about 4gb to run each server plus 2gb for max players and extra islands per server) 64 servers x 6gb = 384gb ram usage. 80cores will be plenty for 64 servers. Will you do a raid10 setup with the HDDs? Will you use multiple VM's on ESXi setup? Edited January 21, 2019 by Bobs
