NA/PVP Greedy Company Controlling Whole Island

O-9 (North East Island) has a small company controlling the whole island. They will not share so we should team up and take it. My buddy and I were able to get on the island and get a single claim before they finally pushed us off. It was just 2 of us. If you have time, ships and Arms, I would say claim the island. Let us know and we will assist. The devs are not going to help control this garbage so we need to do something.

One of the main aims of this game is to take entire islands. If you can't find one for free, you take it. Monopolizing resources and ideal base locations is going to be one of the major parts of this game, it's not greedy, it's literally built into the game where in order to get higher tier stuff such as masterwork or legendary, you need control of or at least the ability to trade for different types of resources. That means usually taking the island in question or forming an alliance. One of the main reasons crews are so territorial about letting people on their island is to prevent scouting however. Resources respawn, so it's no big deal to share, but allowing potential enemies the ability to roam the island you are based on freely is just stupid. No way in hell would I or any of my crewmates allow players to land on our island without escort or prior approval. If you intend to treasure hunt, that's fine, but again you would be required to park off shore and be escorted to the location. Try to show up unannounced and get caught, prepare to be shot on sight.

We are planning on fucking them over when anticheat is implemented. In the meantime we are stockpiling.

Last night we went out to an island to do a treasure hunt on a sloop. 3 people, 2 in hide armor, 1 naked, almost no weapons. We cordially announced ourselves, were responded to and told there were no issues. We did the treasure map and left. On our way out we talked to one of the members face to face, again very cordial conversation. As we sailed out they brought a fully loaded galleon and sunk our sloop. Company is Red Sails at J14. So, while i appreciate your idealism and intended well met values, in reality you can't trust anyone, no matter how civil the interaction is.

While on our home island, we have run into some generally reasonable people we can co-exist with, outside of alliances even. The reality is, the majority of people on a pvp server seem to just want to blow shit up regardless of the human interaction element.
