SHOULD CHARACTER SIZE AFFECT ATTRIBUTES

Make Character size/height affect stats

  1. 1. Should Character leg length affect movement speed (Long legs Faster Running +50% weight at max +12.5% swim speed)

  2. 2. Should Character Weight and Hp Scale with mass (E.G. Beefier characters get a + 50% weight + 50% hp at max)

What I propose works like this to counter small character meta.

1) character mass - (muscle/fat) affects hp and carry weight [at max + 50% hp and weight]

2) character (leg length) - will affect running and swimming [at max + 35% run speed and +12.5 swim speed]

3) character (torso height) - affects stamina and oxygen along with counting towards mass. See 1.) [At max +25% oxygen/stamina]

4)  character (hand size) - affects swim speed [+ 12.5% at max ] - affects hand to hand [+ 12.5% damage -5.5%  attack speed at max size]  - affects hand gathering [+20% resources max size]

5) character (foot size) - affects swim speed [+15% at max] but increases stamina drain by 10% when swimming or running] affects fall damage + 20% fall damage reduction

6) small (skinny) characters will see the negatives of these with the addition of [having to fall from twice the height to take damage. ] [50% more stamina] [15% more attack speed] [ 20% faster reloading]  [reduced melee]

7) character (arms length) add melee and gathering [ at max length increased melee 12.5%] [+ 10% swim speed] [+12.5 % draw speed with bows] [-10% attack speed with melee] [33% aoe on gathering]

9 ) character (arm mass) [+ 25% melee damage] [+10% melee attack speed] [+10% move speed when dragging]

10) character (leg mass) [ + 10% stam ] [ +15% movement speed when dragging] [+20% movement speed when bones are broken] [+20% weight]

11) set a certain threshold on mass for boost of 2x on fortitude

So a character who is max height torso and legs. with medium torso, big legs, big arms, hands, feet and the longest arms would have stats as follows

150 hp + 1.5x per point norm (if skinny undecided on hp penanlty)

125 Stamina + 1.25x per point norm ( fat characters with max weight cap would see a 35% weight reduction bit see extra 25 hp/weight)

125 Oxygen + 1.25x per point norm

170 Weight + 1.7x per point norm

Fortitude 2x per Point norm

Movement speed 135% (if char was skinny 155%)

Swim speed  150% [+10% stam drain]

Melee +137% damage -5.5 attack speed.

Bows +10% draw speed.

Guns + 20% reload

On second thought I dont think small characters should be penalized just buff bigger but open to opinions

I like this idea, but i voted No, here is why:

The proposed stats are op, although in real life you may get some "Benefits" from your bodily attributes, it is not always the case, I've seen a 20 stone man do front flips, back flips, cartwheels etc, and seen smaller people outrun taller people, although a ggood idea and could be looked into further - your figures are far too wrong

Well obviously it would need balancing because I dont have full access to all gather rates ect but seeing smaller people occasionally out lift bigger people doesn't change the norm. Also it's more for balance  sake if you've played ark you know small characters are the meta because there harder to hit this would incentivize players to diversify characters for other perks also giving the bigger characters a usefulness as bruisers.

I agree in principal although your stats probably need to be toned down a bit. Anything that discourages a meta from forming is good in my books.
