Question about ship control in a Company

I have stopped playing Atlas for some time, the last time was primarily because I joined a company of an ally when my own company disbanded. I like to play near solo for the most part but on a PVP server, the sense of danger adds to the game, not that I partake in the PVP that much. My issue was that other company members would continuously use 'my' ships and I would find them sunk or on different islands  a long way away from where I left them or wanted them so  I could use them.

Is there a way to lock ships so other company members can't use them? Or is it just a fact of the game that if you are part of a larger company you won't get any personal autonomy like that?
