Pretty much this, our exploration galleon (PvE) is retro fit almost to the OPs specification 🙂🙂

(not designed to engage and fight)

I'd like an A-B toggle as well.  Position A would be all crew on deck (so to speak, with each crew member assigned to a station, eg sail), and a position B where crew can gather when not sailing, so they can perform their regular ship maintenance duties.  Bit of a chore unseating crew every time you haul up somewhere, before seating them again all to set sail.  Position A / B toggle for the QOL win.

So if you hold down N before you anchor I do believe this only works for on cannons or weapons it pulls them off the cannons  and once you anchor they are sweeping away also you can set your in tame groups to actually switch them around the ship suggests reading into it

  2. I love seeing people complaining about a submarine its doesn't belong but yet they want magic lol that's funny. FYI  the first submarine was tested in 1620 pirates have been around since the 1500 all the way up to the 1820s it makes since that a submarine is in the game and submarines have been around longer than steam boats obviously, wood boats for this game makes since because you can be more creative

i don't mind this change, but i am not looking forward to what will inevitably follow. if people are forced to engage in broadside battles and not just kite their way to victory you will start seeing a lot more "tank" brigs to compensate. i really dislike the "tank" meta even more than the shotgun meta. it's hideous!

after all, give me this any day

    over this abomination...

I dont believe that's going to be a issue due to gun port location

There goes the mythical cannons....and has now made galleons virtually the only ship to tackle

For solo maybe but now you can configure a fleet instead of a ship like we have 9 people sotd fleets with vs 2 galleons 4 brigs and 3 schooners easy day and it makes things very  fun because it's not easy

  5. Rpg battleships  to torpedo  boats on warships, then utility  ships ie cargo, fishing trawlers  coal barges, tugs and salvage ships, massive  escort fleets escorting cargo ships to trade ports trying to protect their haul from other players in game scamming and currency trade ports trade resources and blueprints  not built item except with in companies and alliance oh a submarines are a must, tames for farming as well. I could go on but way to much to type

  6. See yet again daemon you missed the point the only time you apply resources to the upkeep is when that claim is contested and the contested claim loses days from not logging  in the region  of the claim you only apply  resources for one real day lost /per day lost on the claim now the contender does not gain days if you recover the days lost, the contender now has the option  to continue  to contest the claim or surrender  and like I said mega companies are a very small fraction compared the amount of small companies we they could either bleed out resources or surrender that claim and I have been in a game alliance of 27k persons on eve online and its we cover a vast amount  of that universe but we dont hassle to keep what we dont need most of time it us trying to pick a fight when we take claim of someone else's region

Not sure how that would solve anything, large companies would have the resources already to cover the flags, have you seen some of the bases and ships companies have ? Smaller companies and solo players would never get to enjoy the game due to just having to gather resources for upkeep. Right now in the afternoons I spend most of my time making sure the npc’s have gold and food , tames have food and the ships all have resources to repair with.  I struggle keeping tames alive and without them I can’t do treasure maps to provide gold to npc’s who man the sails.

Now with the new captain log that came out they want to revamp the claim system again, I’m sitting here worried I’m going to lose my base again that I’ve sank hundreds of hours into just because I have to go to work or take a week off to spend time with my family on a vacation.

This is really starting to get old, once you start to get ahead in the game they change something up that causes more stress and aggravation, I mean they can’t even fix the tame going invisible or alphas coming through walls yet and this will be the 3rd revamp on the claim system or fourth.

If I wanted to be part of a company it wouldn’t be hard to do, why don’t you quit complaining about the claim system and join a company yourself instead of telling me to make some friends and quit being a land lubber ? I happen to like the way the system is now and I dealt with the claim issue just like everyone else has, all I’ve done here is offer my thoughts on what everyone else has, I’ve not once told someone to make some friends and quit being a land lubber. You don’t like what I have to say then that’s fine, I don’t expect everyone to agree on everything but I try to show POV behind my thoughts and offer suggestions without trying to piss someone off.

I have a land claim, I’ve had several, what I wasn’t using was unclaimed or given to other players. Do you know how I got those claims ? It wasn’t from someone giving them to me, it was because I got off my ass and found them, I wasn’t one of the 1st to start playing so I could go around spamming flags, Hell no my ass had to stay logged in for hours sitting on a claim flag because if you left it you got a message about your flag was interrupted and I had to start the shit all over again.

So yeah I wasn’t here in the forums bitching about the system or telling someone to make friends, as a solo player I was working my ass off, dealing with the ships being sunk to glitches and lag and having to start back over at Freeport’s over and over because I didn’t have a bed somewhere or base setup. I did go to a lawless and build my ship once, built a sloop before the patch came out that you could build a ramshackle at a Freeport, I only offer my suggestions here based on my experience thus far in the game and I try to help everyone out that I can to keep players in the game. What have you done ? Have you offered up claims you weren’t using to help people you didn’t know ? Or you just out for yourself?

So I run a company  and I do have friends that know the grind like no other. The point you are missing it is a major balance and there are more small companies than the mega companies with my suggestion you can easily  knock the alphas out of the land control it would cost them so much in resources to maintain  giving the  little guy a fighting chance  but it's always been said live within your means

You made no sense to me, your saying that since I have a claim, the timer is at 20 days and if you decide to contest it then I have to use materials to defend that claim ?   If I log in and do nothing more than run to each of my claims then I’ve defended my claims. If I decide to not log in for a period of 2 weeks then I may be on vacation and not able to log in, that doesn’t mean I have quit playing, if I haven’t logged in within 20 days, almost a month then chances are I’ve moved to another game and really don’t care if I lose everything or not. That is kinda the system we have in place now and it makes sense.

Now as the timers run down and claims will become available people will start grabbing them up but with the new system they can’t run around spamming flags, one claim at a time, there will be 15 mins between each claim I think. Once more and more timers run down , more and more people will do less and less complaining about the system because they will have claims.

It makes perfect sense and it prevents the sea claim overlap exploit and it is called contesting so it should be able to be contested so make it a legit contest get some friends and stop being a land lubber

  10. I think land claims in pve should be able to be contested regardless of upkeep timer, for instance company A has a land claim  company B contest A's claim  which has 20 days everyday that A does not upkeep that's a day added to company B's claim then company A has regain those days by physically upkeeping that claim for everyday lost and it should be done with materials

  11. Labs I'm  with you on this, make it hard it's a survival  game with pirates I play this and eve online  I'm in a alliance of 27k people in eve online  yes we jump clone to other systems  but yet instead we watch timers and mobilize massive war fleets and destroy everything in our way to reinforce a structure you have a massive  company  cool it shouldn't be hard to mobilize  and protect your lands like real gamers would. fast travel is lazy and a cowards way. respawning is a super easy fix. Respawn in that zone you died in. if your bed got destroyed  and then you can either respawn at Freeport or another grid that you have a bed in. All I see when people saying let's not remove fast travel  well you are complaining and in truth your company is weak. I rather them remove this feature of fast travel it free up the servers of loading issues than use it

  12. I know this is off topic but I couldn't  find a thread for this, would it be possible to get pier bollards this would help out tremendously  when parking a galleon or brig, and those of us  who are building trade ports. Also moored ships should have the same effects as anchored ships

  13. As I always say people will play you so you always learn to play their game better against them for instance some clown dropped land claims in our claimed area that are active the dumby forgot to set them to company only, well pillars are your friend in this situation  he cant build there now he used a exploit  to force his claim we just did it better using legit mechanics

  14. I think pier bollards would be awesome, it would help with like galleons  and brigs if we could pull up to a pier and tie off to the pier and still get the same effects as if anchored. Just make it a separate build item that we could  add to a ceiling tile "pier bollard" like the s+ hitching post
