But I haven't called you a troll, or an idiot, or a... well, you know what I mean becasue you are not stupid, are you? I just said I was smart enough to recognize one.

Smart enough to recognize a troll. Best of luck to you.

Good advice.

Right, so I should leave the Official Atlas Forums and search the reliable interwebs to find good information from the devs about their game. Thanks for proving my point. No I don't accept your words. I didn't buy this game from you and can't hold you accountable. How about keeping "I heard nonsense" to yourself. Doesn't help anyone here looking for real answers.

Maybe I'm not looking for the right keywords. Can you please link his post? Thanks!

Can't say that I blame him. Hardly any feedback here from the devs.
16 hours ago, Nelson Sandalwood said:I know they have staff looking into it, and I believe they will have a fix out soon, possibly today or tomorrow
Would love to know how you know. I figured this would be the place the devs communicated with us on topics like these. Please point me to the right direction cause this forum isn't it.

1 minute ago, Nelson Sandalwood said:you can have some cells in the grid pvp and some pve if you want
Great didn't realize that, thought it was a global setting only. This should help both types of our playerbase.

8 minutes ago, Nelson Sandalwood said:To be fair that is the player community as a whole, if your server doesn't give them what they want in a day they leave. I run a RP PvP server, and it has been pretty much PvE behavior for 3 weeks then last week 2 fights happens and (not kidding) 70% of the player base left becasue they don't want PvP. wtf? Why join a server descried as PvP then?
My point is, don't try and run a server for the players, run it for your self, players will come and go.We have similar issues with our player base. It would be great if we could section off pvp areas and non pvp areas. That way if you want to engage in pvp you get a choice. Even if it was a grid option to have pvp on or off, that would be great.

Have you seen https://github.com/BoiseComputer/atlas-server-tools ? it's a fork of https://github.com/FezVrasta/ark-server-tools with enhancements for Atlas.
Yes! You recommended this to me earlier and I grabbed it. Still need to spend some time with it but just waiting for a more stable release.

The same thread on Linux has a few issues, any way the point is the same people who fixed the save game bug are now looking at this CPU issue so it wont be long until it is sorted
Thanks for the update! My community is getting antsy but this will put my mind at ease for a bit.

Anyone else getting ridiculous core usage for one grid?
My specs are 24 cores Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X7460 @ 2.66GH with 64 gigs of FB-DIMM DDR2 667 MHz
Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
13204 root 20 0 7004068 4.108g 97148 S 110.6 11.6 10:11.91 ShooterGameServ
My process here is using 110.6% of one core. Is this normal for all you other admins?
a normal ping from the cmd prompt to this server is around 38ms. When I'm in game the server latency is 170ms. Really shouldn't be this unplayable I think. Zone transfers continuously fail.

oops double post.

I would suggest having crontab handle it, but you would need to know if the servers were already running or start it after system boot and let crontab handle how often to check for the servers. It is not super difficult, but it is not easy.
Thanks this gives me a good starting place to look.

2 minutes ago, Selune said:Ok I understand but why I can't even make the server appear on Steam servers list ? I think I have an issue that others here don't have...
So I ran into a similar problem when I was working on the server on the same network as my client. There was a networking issue (possibly no loopback on my router) that my client could not see the server with the same NAT. Drove me crazy wondering what the issue was until I tethered my client off my phone and noticed my server was up after I added it to my favorites via steam. Feel free to pm me your server ip and port and I can help test it you think this might be the same thing happening to you.
10 minutes ago, Nelson Sandalwood said:The thing is, I don't believe the other poster has it ruining, I mean it will start adn run, but the save files still can't be used, and the only way I can get mine to run on 18.04 is to install the hacked linbcurl3-4 and even then that was for v15, v16 wont run for me at all at the moment, so hopefully this gets fixed soon
If you are referring to me as the other poster. I can verify that my client connects and sees multiple grids.

Just now, Sakura said:Are they all being pointed to the right redis database?
Yes they are. I ran it again with only 2 grids and it worked. Still got a time out message but somehow my client was still connected. I think this is a resource issue on my end. Going to try adding more grids until it fails again. Thanks though!

Please give us your linux distribution version, and openssl and libcurl versions, and some server logs. Thanks
Sure! I'll be more than happy to help where I can.

Not sure if that is what you want. My server logs for the game are pretty bland. If you need more specifics and if you have the commands handy I could run them easier than researching them all.

Not much of a linux guy but was able to get my 3x3 grid working. I was hoping one of you experienced scripters could assist me in a startup script.
I remote SSH into my server so I think i need to use screen to detach so I can exit out safely. Is there a way I can use one script to start all 9 grids and then exit out of putty?
Any help would be appreciated.

My server has 16 cores and 64 gigs of ram. I ran 6 grids at the time of the timeout. I was about 23% cpu utilization and had about 3 gigs of mem free. I'll try running 3 grids and see if that helps. I plan on getting 128 gigs total to run all 9 grids when I get everything ironed out. Also I wasn't able to log in anymore after the crash. Just kept timing out.

I'm having this same issue as well. We are running a 3x3 on the same server.
