  1. Obviously mine was a "drastic" consideration. I alsoI add buildings on the ships but I try to be as minimal as possible and I always try to give it a realistic look. A modular construction method with predefined elements would be an excellent alternative. And I hope they add bigger sails for the galleon too..

  2. I know that this is the kind of game where you should be able to build anywhere and creativity means a lot. But I find it ridiculous enough to overturn the ship's design. Devs wanted to create a hardcore game but a player can build a wall of cannons on the back or front of the ship and oneshot whatever he wants. Besides, ships with huge buildings on them are ugly. In my opinion, ships must have a predefined design and only the sails can be modified. The cannons must only be placed in the lower deck and with their relative gunports. At most, side cannons can be added on the upper deck. By removing the possibility of adding structures, Devs should provide more types of ships. For example 5 types of sloops, 5 types of brigantines and 5 of galleons. Maybe with the same statistics but with different skins. It would be far more realistic and players should rely a lot more on maneuvers during a battle.

  4. I lost a newly built galleon due to the freeport decay. Obviously I did not know about "freeport decay" because players are not warned clearly about it. And to be clear .... I left the galleon in a freeport zone because I was forced to do so. I planned to leave the next day ... but no.

However I fully agree with the idea. I thought about the mooring fee too 👍

  5. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who thinks about certain things.

I made a post the other day asking exactly the same things.

In addition I suggested a sails revisiting. Because sails like handling and weight one should be much more efficient in upwind sailing.

They should also add jib sails to make bowstrips useful.

They announced new headfigures (or bowstrips) today ... I was looking forward to this update but I'm disappointed to be honest. They are too big and showy. The boats are too fat already and not slender at all.

The Jib sail? late 1800s early 1900s a speed sail. I like this idea.

Those traditional head figures that the trader sells, they could also sell a jib, (for a nominal fee *cough!).

They should also change the price depending on the type of boat you want to put the figure head on :classic_sleep:

  7. Hello everyone

In my opinion the sails must be revisited.

There is no way to sail decently against the wind. All the sails, regardless of their shapes, are efficient only with tailwind and crosswind.

In the real sailing world ... .sails like the handling one or the weight one are excellent for crosswind and windward sailing.

If you can not change sails functioning, you should add jib sails to help windward sailing and attach them to the "traditional head figure".
