I had this happen to me with one of my Galleons. What did work was sailing a small raft and going to the grid I was entering with the Galleon, not where I was coming from. After it glitched for a min or so, the Galleon finally unglitched for me and was able to board it and was ok.

For those with Ubuntu 18.04 I would highly suggest not removing libcurl4 in favor of libcurl3. Best to just wait for them to properly fix the linux required dependencies.
