In many movies and books, practitioners in magic often have only a limited tolerance before succumbing to exhaustion from the mental exertion. I would love the Tarot to finally be implemented and these would make some pretty interesting aspects to include.

Yeah,  along the magic winds - things like even ship in the bottle mechanic, wards from different elements.. may it be storms, fire etc. for X amount of time or even mask yourself for that X time and be ignored by SOTD (unless you attack them then the illusion goes away). This I feel would improve sailing quality. Casting magic could also consume mythos maybe? And the more often you cast it the more it costs to consume, unless you let it to cooldown to prevent people from spamming the abilities with no care.

I don't see how it would adversely affect PVP as anyone could spec for INT and Tarot if they wish. If they don't then they chose other avenues to become proficient in... It is called, carefully, dedicated skill choices and SHOULD be important to each character and help to provide diversity in character builds.

True, you are probably right. But if they do that, they should probably add somewhat of a cooldown on ship so it cant be spammed, just how it was spammed with nature's cry by switching players that mount the tame.

So maybe instead of the low affect by INT it should just be a hardcap of how low the cooldown can go. Since what stops a big company from just having a crafter character on board to spam the winds magic all the time for them when hopping on wheel to go fast? I am just spitballing here ideas, but I'd love somewhat of magic mechanics with wind implemented, that would improve our travel times for sure.

Dead wind? Cast magic wind skill! 🙂

It would definitely add a bit of more variety to ship combat I feel.

There are other game developers that punish even their most elite players so much more harshly, they are singled out and made examples of purposely, there should be an amount of fear in using such a blatant exploit.

Yes, this. So when in case a future exploit arises people will be refraining from using it, due to fear of being punished.. but now if they wont punish these guys.. future exploits again will be used with no one to worry about any punishment.

don't forget that they probably lost most of their ships and gear

Yes, but they still have the advantage of being lvl100 now and not to mention they abused a system to achieve it.  Their actions costed this game a lot of players probably quitting over it.. it inflicted damage upon community. However I am still glad they did at least somewhat actions and I hope their script managed to properly clean all 60%+ quality items and left none behind.

  5. You guys still need to punish the exploiters though, they were well aware of their actions. Reverting their 150 levels to 1000 then capping and destroying all the items above 60% is not enough. They need to set an example that exploiting will be punished.. else next time something like that gets discovered people will abuse it with no fear of more serious repercussions.

Now the people who abused the glitch still got the better end of stick if they did not get punished... They are still level 100, avoided all the headache of doing maps and other ways of leveling up..

  6. Yes, please. My friends only came back to this game just  cause of the new underwater based content.. but we are a small group and we just want to explore and not worry too much about boss fights. Having the only new major content that was advertised pre-wipe get locked behind a boss fight is not really nice.. we really do not want to redo all our progress we had on old content with nothing new to go along with it while at it. It is just boring.

This has happened before to us in January. There were zero trees and resources left and the island looked like a clear cut waste land. They fixed it and everything grew back the way it was.

Yep, I remember those days. I feel that all the building radius changes they changed to res blocking has been defaulted and they did not realize that.. when they set it back to 'no setting any island to homeserver'  sadly.. I hope this gets resolved asap, I wanted to farm up to a brig this weekend. However looks like it that wont be happening.

I am really tempted to destroy whole base and see if it helps.

trees etc are back but no metal nodes appear to be repawning not farmed any at all this morning

Our trees are not respawning, and we need those 😞 Our tundra island does not have that many trees to begin with. I am getting desperate and just demolishing anything that might be blocking spawns of them - still no good results.

What I believe has happened here is that since they reverted the ability to set and choose any island as a homeserver they no longer act like lawless and therefore the resource radius has returned. But it is very painful, they need to reduce it by half at least.

Anything beyond this red line should be able to respawn, but the radius is too big. It's now blocked all but 1 syrup tree.

Yeah, exactly. Especially if they want to encourage 'settlements'  if that's the radius of res de-spawn.. no one will want any settlers, cause it will cause the whole island become a barren wasteland.. if we could get the resource respawn semi-like lawless.. maybe 10-20% bigger, it'd be great. That way it'd be easier to avoid building over any resources and enforce others to not do so. However, I just had a few trees respawn RIGHT besides my house, but other resources are not respawning that used to be in that spot (particularly metal and rocky nodes)

Edit: ok that's a bit weird, now suddenly again the  two trees are not respawning (I did not build more)

  10. Yeah our island is also suffering from it and there is even nothing near the resource. Well there were signs telling  what resources there are .. but nothing more.

I demolished signs, I demolished nearby buoys... still 95% of resources are not respawning anymore. Something is definitely broken here.

and so what , now the remainder of  points will be easier to get ,

its players like you that feel so hard done by as u have gotten your first 200 points the slow way ..so fucking what now u can get more points that will be further away easier that u would have at the currant 1 point per discovery

does it really matter to u that new players that have just started will end up at the same point as u with less time instead of 2000 hrs to explore the entire may they do it it 1000 hrs ,

entitled players like you are what ruins game ...

the 3x would have been great for new players to chach up and allow those that already had a couple of hundred point to pull ahead at a reasonable rate

The problem is not catching up easy, the problem is... discovery points are linked to soft capping your max level.. so let's say theoretically they increase level cap later in future to higher.. and now that we all explore every possible zone people that had the benefit of 2x or 3x or whatever will have more total points than people who had less benefit of 2x or 3x.  Which leads to handicapping and in a way even hardcapping them to lower softcap max level or even making it harder/near to impossible for them to max out again.

They should not raise gained discovery points per zone or anything else. They just need to reduce points required to get max level instead. That way no one gets hurt 🙂

The claims system should have been set up on some kind of hexagonal grid so none of this overlapping shit could happen in the first place. That would also take care of the little gaps where no claim can be made.

YES! I've been saying the same thing too.. basically similar system like civilization games.. and that way it could be a bit more balanced too and less confusing.
