You have close to 800 posts, where you try to improve the game and try to solve problems which have simple solutions through gameplay. Most of your posts are not questions but complains and questions about stuff that doesn´t need changes. You wanted to fix stuff in your last thread because of your missing knowledge.

I wouldn´t say criticism to you when you would ask questions where we can help to improve your gameplay, but you try to change the game because of MISSING knowledge and that´s what I don´t like to see here. Imagine you spend the time in the game rather than spending it in 800 posts.

It's not about believing or something. We all got that you well experienced player who solved the game. Good for you. But telling us about this every message is not helping related to questions people (and I'm also) are asking.

    LOL

    Sure you did.

If you don´t believe me, I can give you the discord-tag of the guys I was playing with and the name: NBK Trading. We merged a few days ago. They got island-spots in H9, C3 and C5. Kumba (one of the most famous breeder) also know that because we were playing together from time to time. Sry bro, I don´t need to lie 😉

See, I play the game and try to learn things instead of posting in a forum every single minute 😉

I did reinstall the game and played now 7 hours on PVE official. Build sloop on lawless, collected some honey and tamed 3 bears... the no1 & 2 disapeared over night... nothing in the log. I leveled up to 32. Now driving around searching for a place to build.

You are lucky if you managed to claim 4 islands for yourself on this server and getting all warehouse spots as Solo Player? You belong to the top 1% of the server regarding your income then. George explained that he is still learning the game without help from expirienced players and he does not learn the fast PvP way.

I myself try to figure out in no hardcore mode how to get going with gold cost on ships starting with 0. I want to test the trading system and actual warhouse and famrhouse performance. If you have 4 islands you may have a spot for me to build? 1x warehouse, 2-3 farms?

I already gave everything to a small group of player because I´m not playing anymore. The game is very boring actually.

  4. Not sure how you guys play the game, but from what I can read you are doing a lot wrong. I had over a million gold and 4 land pieces. Every tame and ship I wanted, mythic ship all kraken, sea horses whatever. What are you doing in this game all day long?

Yeah, I do understand that now. It just not obvious. For example, how do I know, that If I kite hydra in the ocean it stops shooting and just follow my boat, so I can just kill it with my stern cannons??? Only by watchin youtube videos, and it's not "play smart" it just "watch guides to exploits and repeat".

Maybe one guy will spend like couple moths to gather all mythic armor and upgrade it, then go for lvl-16 treasure and... he will be killed by damned warrior with one hit. And I spend half day to tame high lvl tiger, make a Grog, and make this treasure done in common armor with a shovel in my hands.

All past mmos experience doesn't work here, and you need to know all guides, all exploits, all weird working stuff, to get success. I'm not sure if devs meant that. I just wanna remind that when first fountain of youths appeared, there were like hundreds of 100 years grandies, running naked to this fountain. Doesn't look smart enough for me. More like ancient barbarian mechanic, just to rush.

So, you mean you can solo Kraken with just Schooner? Why then guys who gather party to Kraken only accept Galleys and Brigs?

I have the feeling that you are an inexperienced player. That´s not a problem for sure, but when I read your text I have the slight feeling you need to improve your game knowledge. People are taming razortooths solo, do powerstones solo and lot´s of other stuff. It´s in fact a matter of experience. You can also do the hydra solo with grenades and tactic. The schooner is totally fine for a kraken event, maybe do the event so you know why? I did everything in this game and I do a lot solo. Sometimes it´s frustrating but in the end I have learned a lot. Just do it and find out. Most of the stuff you say is just not correct. It´s more like you don´t know much about the game yet.

  6. Not sure what you are talking here. You can gather all powerstones and kill the Kraken in one or two week(s). After that you can farm tentacles. I farm them pretty easily without effort. It takes 2-3 hours to get all tentacles. No problem.

We were 3 people in our company. This game is way to easy so what´s the problem sir? Do you need tips and tricks? Atlas has a lack of content because you can do everything without effort. Just play it smart. I play this game for over 2k hours now. You only need a schooner to play this game. 5k gold and then you can do everything.

  7. That´s also a point: PvP with this amount of gold which is needed in the first place is clearly bad game design and it is for sure not enjoyable for small groups. These gold costs are ridiculous and we shall do that with a sloop? Sloop and raft are the worst ships in this game and they will sink before you even can prepare them.

  8. Hello there,

I wanted to test how hard it is to play solo till u got a schooner. Normally, I´m playing in big tribes and have no problem with anything in the game. I often read that the gold investment for ships is a huge disappointment and it´s not motivating for people to play the game. So I tested it and...

To be fair: It´s awful game design. Gold is clearly not more worth than before but it´s a huge timesink for player.

The sloop is so slow and you cannot carry much with you, so you have to build a small house to bring the gold back all the time. You spend hours to get a taste of the real game and to be honest: Until you have your first brigantine, you played atleast 72 hours straight (even more). Sounds not that much but when I think about playing maybe 4h per day (which is kinda much for normal people) I can say this gameplay is flawed af.

In my opinion the schooner should be free of gold investment or only 1k gold. Just my humble opinion here, but for real: Solo or small groups won´t have fun when you need to spend a shitload of hours to start the game.

Just my opinion after I tested seasons for season your stuff.

I didn't think about that but that's a good point... Do you know about the stones. I heard that the golden age ruins are completely overrun with players and each island is controlled by a company making it almost impossible to get in there to even do the missions to get the stones.

Nah, it´s not that hard. To be a random guy is an advantage cause people always attack their enemy on sight, so the big tribes do it aswell. To do powerstones is pretty easy on PvP. Only thing are the ship of the damned, there is some competition.

    Bye.

So many snowflakes in this thread. Simply put don't play PvP if you don't want to get captured. All this criminal offense nonsense wouldn't hold a day in court because you can simply close the game. This debate is just as dumb as the cyber bully debate. Just turn off your computer and go play outside or something.

Everything is so wrong 😂 You don't know how the court and human rights work until you get hit by that.

Realistically is it even possible to play through the storyline and get all the stones in PVP? can it be done without an entire army of players? Considering the blockades and effort player put into denying you passage I would think that PVE is necessary if you want to just learn the game and see what the hell is out there. And then PVP when you got that down. Is this something yal encounter out there or am I over thinking this?

Pve and pvp are different in organisation and preparation. But there are plenty of nice people in PvP. Don't join big alliances or Tribes. You will have a rly bad time there because of war and bad rules. Try to play in polar or tundra region. There you will have more time to get experience cause nobody plays there a lot.

Honestly not following what you are talking about. No idea what a maze is. If you mean mace, I don't see how you can use that with a shield, as the mace is a two-handed weapon. I'm terrible with combat, as I only play PvE and generally fight everything on a tame. Since I fight from a tame, I get no hand to hand combat practice, which is about all you are going to do on a powerstone island. Bringing any tame is sure to get it killed.

My very first attempt to got into a powerstone cave was yesterday. I tried to sneak around all the creatures naked so I wouldn't lose any gear, since I was doing it solo, if I lost gear, I probably wouldn't be able to recover it. Never made it into the cave. If nothing killed me before the opening, right before the opening a high level lion would always jump me and kill me. Made about 10 runs at it, never even made it inside of the cave. It is a private server. Everyone is saying try the one in A4, which is supposed to have way less stuff outside of the cave than the one I was trying.

OK, I play on official pve. I also meant mace sry 😂 You just need 4 people with a mace and one with a shield and sword. You skill combat and weapons and then you can clear the whole cave. It needs some practice but it's pretty easy. I did a lot powerstones by myself but also with my company. You just need to pull the whole monsters into the water in the cave then you can rush to the powerstone machine. You can also use a zip line to skip the run.

Edit: I'm not sure if it works but you can also try sneaking lvl 3 in Beastmaster skill tree and then you can press x and crawl to the machine.

I'm ok that I have been killed robbed till I was ofline. but that...thanks but no. uninstall.

I regert about my time and money spent.

I can feel you but it's a fine mechanic for PvP. Atleast you should not be able to capture a player for the whole time, so he needs to delete his character but it's fine to be captured atleast 24 hours. I'm not sure if force feeding is still possible.

He asked for opinions. That was mine. I think it is just fine.

I know a lot of people like that Atlas is hard core and the devs have made a lot of it very hard core.

Personally I think that is a dumb strategy. If a boss is really hard, people just find a way to cheat the kill. I don't know what you guys are doing that makes it so easy other than just having as many players as possible. I've watched several videos, no video shows a way to not have any of the lightning. If you've found a way, your just cheating the mechanic of the boss fight. If you want a challenge, just fight the boss the way it was designed to be fought, instead of gaming it like so many do. It is all your choice.

Like the powerstone caves. I've yet to do those too. Seems kind of dumb also. People just run in there naked with 10 other players. Half of them die, but half make it. They just repeat the process until everyone has made it. Few actually try and kill all of the threats on the way in or in the cave, they are just way too hard core (high level) for that to be a valid strategy. So why do they make it so hard core if everyone is just going to game it? I guess if I played PvP I might understand.

The caves of powerstone is a joke my friend. Craft a good mace and shield then clear the whole cave. Easy shit. You can also burn the whole area to ashe. You don't even need good gear. People farming the cave for gold btw cause it's easy loot lol.

Edit: You are welcome to the next kraken fight and I will show you the tactics.

  15. I'm not playing PvP and Kraken is easy because you can put a ship to every single tentacle, kill it instantly and then fight the orb the whole time.

Powerstones also need a fix that you cannot use powerstones of the hydra for every other powerstone island. It should be bound to the island.

Factions man... factions. Im telling you. Also.... MOST PvE players seem to be really happy with the game when they aren't getting griefed.

Like I said before, sailors didn't want to spend all of their time at sea. While I agree there is a poor balance here, land raids and building/visiting friendly settlements was essential too pirate life. Certain aspects of ship maintenance could only be done while moored. Plus, having big ass period accurate manor kicks ass (from the outside anyway, all of my bases are just barns lol)

Also, no one is "making you farm" its pirate game. Go steal shit.

Agreed; and they managed to import the same people who try and police/pillar spam everything they find.... on PvE.

    Agreed. Especially for maneuvering too.
I'd love to anchor turn some time at a cost to a bit of my plank HP.

Pve is in a pretty nice spot. I enjoy the game at its best after I left the PvP. Atlas is after one year a good game but there are still things to work at before we can talk about release.

  17. 1 hour ago, wildbill said:

Any game that has dungeons, etc., like Atlas can easily be defeated with a large number of players, assuming the game doesn't limit the number in some way.

Don't rely on the game to force you to play in a way that makes the game difficult. Challenge yourself. If you are playing with 20 people to defeat the kraken, try it with 10 instead. It is all up to you. This is a sandbox game after all. You can play easy mode or hard mode, Atlas is not going to tell you which mode is the most fun for you.

So far I've done none of the above that you mention, but I play solo. I do plan to team up with some people on the server I play on and do some of the above, probably the Kraken will be the first. I imagine about 10 to 15 of us will take it on. Some of us will die and not complete it. It don't think it will be "pretty easy" as you describe. The server does it as a weekend event and I watched one of the first in a video, looked pretty challenging.

Why should I be a dick to player who wants the event too? Ofc I'll help and team up to help. Kraken is pretty easy mode with 15 people. You can skip the whole tentacle/electro phase. Not sure why you try to discuss without knowledge about the fight itself when it comes to experience. The devs can make it harder when they design it to a playerlimit event and with more effects to dodge. It's not about crying, it's about more challenge in future content.

  18. Hello there,

I want to ask you how you think about the difficulty of the game (Pve-Stuff).

I personally think that the ghostship, powerstones, Kraken 1/2 and ice dungeon are pretty easy to play. The fact that you don't have a player limit is one of the problems why you can easily rush the bosses and win.

I would like to see a challenge in this game.

You should stop playing Early Access then.

Atlas is the first title I ever played in EA that needs tons of wipes. That's why your answer cannot be tolerated here. After 3 EA games I played, Atlas is by far the only one where wipes happen.

Tbh Atlas feels more like a closed beta than an EA title and that's how things should be.

EA doesn't mean wipes are hard needed like we see it here in Atlas. I played enough EA, Beta and closed Beta/Alpha to talk about that.

Edit: When you are interested in the difference then you can read it here:

    https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/364040166686353959/

It's a pretty nice explanation of EA, beta and alpha.

"Fallout 76 is going to kill Rust, Ark, and PUBG!"

New World: Not likely to even touch Atlas. Will flop. Amazon Game Studios doesn't have a good track record making fun games. New World is meant to show off what Lumberyard can do.

Last Oasis: Maybe. We'll see.. Ive only seen trailers so far. Waiting on my beta invite. Really doubt it though. Building battle Straandbeasts appeals to a different crowd than building Ships of the Line.

Starbase: lol no. Space is boring very quickly. I mean, its literally noothing.

I really wouldn't use the term "disenfranchised." It's just a game man. If people on this forum "love this game" they have a peculiar way of showing it.  I  don't see how you can say, or anyone can say the "game is dying again" when population keeps going up, and Xbox is just in love with this game.

Four out of five stars on Xbox; for a buggy as fuck EA title. Think about that.

Have you checked the Steam store page lately either?
Not long ago recent and all reviews were both OVERWHELMINGLY negative.

    Now look:

    u9qd6Wo.png

Both the claim that 'the game is dying' and 'its getting worse' are just not congruent with reality.

It falls right in line with clowns who think that "game studios don't work on multiple projects at once" and that "releasing Xbox was a money grab." Look, it's obvious some people on this forum don't know that studios work on several projects at once, and generally, you try to support all platforms at once. Games would take decades to fully roll out if they did it that way *cough Halo: Master Cheif Collection on PC cough* shit sorry I just had some WORK ON TWO DIFFERENT PLATFORMS ONE AFTER THE OTHER stuck in my throat.

I don't  know how else to explain that "this is the normal Early Access experience, you signed up for this, stop being nasty to the devs."They are on boarding just for this game. Go check, you can go to WCs website and see. Erick was hired to do take over design. Like, I dont see how you all can't see that the devs are trying very hard to turn the ship around. The same thing is going on with Ark as well.

My goodness, the complaints about communication or lack there of? This is where my complaints about so many people here begin. "Three months with no communication" that we were completely forewarned about. Let alone that three months is kind of short as far as dev cycles go.

This is the only game community I have ever been a part of that is this nasty and entitled at the devs. The reason the devs don't communicate is because this forum and the Discord abuse the shit out of them. Better yet?  They let you do it. You'd never get away with this on any other EA forums, save for maybe Rust/FP... but Gary would just be nasty back at you instead.

    "It's not a good look"

    lol no lmfao

These devs are saints to put up with everyone's shit and not just close feedback entirely. That's not to say I want to suck Jat's donger here. I fucking hate so much about the design of this game. You have no idea how much I want to go to the studio and throw stinky lettuce leafs at everyone's cars some days. But you know what.... I keep those feelings inside.

This community is super abusive and entitled to these devs. You wonder why they don't talk.

Now the fact that Gorgons Gaze - L6 is still fucking down; really chaps my rump

I don't know if you are serious or not. If that's the case... it's time to play another game mango. Just give it a break for a bit. The game will still be here when you get back. Maybe not your stuff, but that gets wiped periodically anyway, no? Going hard in this game is an exercise in futility. I hope you understand that.

It's why I keep telling you guys to not be so entitled about the game, that, if you don't enjoy it, that's on you. This game  is what you make of it. The bugs really don't break anything major, let's be real. That's S1/S2 shit.

Tbh I only accept one more wipe when it's necessary. But after that I'm out and play games that are worth my time when it comes to more wipes. I won't deal anymore with this fuckery wipes.

  21. 47 minutes ago, Whitehawk said:

I bought fallout 4 as a finished game years ago, even now the bugs are still there. Even skyrim had bugged questlines , that was also a finished game. As for numbers, I paid £29.95 for skyrim on pc and played it for roughly 150 hours, and i'd completed the game long before that amount of hours. fallout 4 I paid £39.95 for and have played for under 100 hours. Atlas I paid £11.00 for on pc and played the pc version for just under 1000 hours. And yeh I agree they coulda added more to the game in the last year, and if they weren't so involved in other projects they probably would have done, and should have done. But I and many others play cos we still like it, and I will until it no longer interests me. Yeh I'm also gutted for the people who bought it and don't like it, but if that's where you're at then don't rant at everyone else to make them feel bad cos they still play it, it's not your business what people do with their spare time. I don't stand outside a restaurant everyday with a placard saying 'don't eat here' just cos I didn't like the food, or had a bad meal there. I just go somewhere I do like. Bon voyage.

In the end it's just losing your stuff that is the bad thing at all I think. I can live with some bugs and laggs. I know that from other games. Nothing is perfect. But to lose your progression is something that cannot be accepted. I mean: I have over 1k hour play time and what is left of that? A hat skin? Big yikes. I dream of a server marketplace ruled by player but this cannot happen when you lose everything again and again. Also it's not that motivating. Rest of Atlas is fine for me but it clearly needs its time before it can be released.

  22. Tbh Atlas is this EA game title which sucks balls hard since launch. Too many bugs, laggs, less content and the worst thing: wipes.

Temtem is an EA title aswell but doesn't have that many problems and the playerbase is actually pretty happy with the game.

I know, I know... Atlas is a little bit more difficult in software etc. but in the end it should work a little bit better than this. I think of all bad things that happen in Atlas wipes are the part that is the most frustrating thing here. To struggle with the bugs and laggs, only to lose everything in the end again and again is how to push away your community from you.

I hope they will learn that. Actually I think Atlas just needs more content and some software and server tuning.
