This is funny to me. The first thing on your list is that you mention ecosystem. Did you ever play Ark? One of the things that the devs wanted to do when they started working on ark, is to create an ecosystem. They failed, and gave up basically. Atlas devs afaik never mentioned any intention to create what the ark devs failed at creating. What you have described there is a single entity called a lion fighting another single entity called a bear. It is not amazing. It is not an ecosystem. If you think fights between wild animals in ark or atlas are intense and they make you crack up with laughter, that just makes me sad. In 1998 we had wild animals in video games fighting each other, and what year is it now? It also makes me realise that the devs are just hoping that the game they are shitting out appeals to the lowest common denominator.

Did you know that physics have been in games for decades, and here was a grappling hook in CTF quake, which again was released about 1998, over 20 years ago. Not "amazing" at all, and quite sad that err people would think it is "amazing". The whole point of a sandbox game "like ATLAS" is that you can do things, there isn't much of a linear game experience because you have the freedom to "do things", the focus is on the "doing things" so that gamers can make their own experience/game. Sandbox games are actually the most capable of doing those "somethings like this which are so amazing that they have been in a game which was developed in 1998".

 

It is not suprising that when you are irked, you just laugh and say "how amazing lol".

The islands are copy pasted, flat, boring and mostly a procedural generation. Waterfalls and lakes in the middle of an island turning you into a kid going to the zoo for the first time sounds errr so nice *pats head of kid, good child* aww good baby googoogaga

Haven't played the game in over a year. Just browsing these forum out of nostalgia and kind of hoping that things had improved. What I can say is despite all the bugs etc I have alot of good memories of this game, and this bitter hateful attitude says so much more about you than the developers.

You have every right to complain about the flaws of this game, but shitting on this guy sharing his positive experience; what are you even doing here? How did you reach this point? My advice is uninstall the game, leave these forums, reexamine your life (maybe hit the gym but avoid the steroids because you've already got some problems with the rage) and find another pasttime to enjoy. Turn that destructive behaviour into something constructive, or you know, don't. Truth is if you didn't see some amazing potential and accomplishments from this game you wouldn't be so heated up about it. It's not this random guys fault that it might not get any better than this.I just had to chime in with a reality check

Guys you need to chill until the patch is done. I'm one of many waiting for the patch to come out before I return to the game. The second this patch was announced I stopped playing in wait for the patch. Play some other games while waiting, you'll be fine. Alot of people will return for the patch, some won't, some new people will come. We will see how the game performs after the patch, that will in large determine how it will be going forward. It's not strange for the game to take a huge dip while waiting for the big patch to come.

That's what I think too, and it's not easy finding good personnel when it comes to this and todays toxic gaming community. It's a tough job for sure. For what it's worth, I hope the game succeeds (I know I'll play it) and that they step up their game.

Laughing alot at people already defending them before they've delayed it. It doesn't matter that it's EA, it's still hilarious that literally every single time they delay patches, releases etc where they could just be up front about the dates instead. They're still saying march 20th, but I'll bet my left nut that it's going to be delayed because god damn it they just can't set realistic dates even for the life of them. That said, I'll still play, I like the game, but they're literally indefensible in this guys come on hahaha. They should hire someone else to do communications, because as someone working in marketing I have to say they've done a horrible job with this (it just seems like they've hired some newbies for this, maybe they'll improve. But I've yet to see it).

Likely gonna put this on hold  until the wipe, and play after. don't  see that as an option in your poll.

Lost an elephant the exact same way. I can expect bugs, but this is a known one for a while now. Remove the ability to "move onto ship" until it's fixed so that until then people will use the follow to get it on. Easy fix, makes players alot more happier. People have ragequit the game over less to be frank.

There's a content patch coming out in the end of February.

I dont get how people sink to ship of the damned. Do you never bring repairmaterial on the boat? how heavy is your boat that you cant outsail it or kill it? seriously?

I have the same issue, doesn#t come back even though i respawned since the last patch. God damn it.

Honestly man, there are PLENTY of friendly companies out there willing to invite you on PVP. Generally it will start with you having to build some on their land and go into an alliance, in time you can join them. I would start by finding a lawless island and talking to the people there directly, may take a few tries to find a decent island with decent people, but generally they will let you build and in time join them. Just be nice and that isn't an issue.

Slightly more rare as they can fuck up an invasion raid pretty hard, other than that I don't mind them

Excuse me if I don't equate atlas with Olympic professional teams, and even if I did the group punishment here is WAY over the top. I've never heard of a team being banned from ever playing again because one of their players was a dick. 

Tbh this is disgusting, I can't believe the people here endorsing group punishment of this type. Unban the guy! Wtf is wrong with you guys? 

I don't get it. I think they addressed all my immediate concerns in the last patch, other than bugs and performance and they addressed what most people seemed to be whining about as well. The hacking is obviously still an issue, but I'm pretty sure they're working hard on that too. I get the age thing is annoying, Im at age 78 atm so I'm not suffering bad, but other than that.. Spot on imo. 

I do think they need an active presence kn their forums, however... 

People don't realize there are different teams working on new content and things like fixing server performance and bugs. Its not that they're focusing on "useless things" it's that they can't, it's people who are good at different things. Obvious alot of people here don't know at all how these things work. Besides, new content is also needed. 

We can now spawn on beds on lawless islands, not sure if intended but would love to know

To be honest it's ridiculous, we've tamed an elephant and rhino (takes us a day to prep, travel there and tame it and bring it back), both literally died within 10 minutes to alphas. We decided to just not tame any animals, it's a huge waste of time until they fix this in some way.

So do we come back in a month when they obviously have caved and fixed this issue because everyone left or is this going to be adressed sooner than that? because honestly like this the game is unplayable on our island and we have absolutely zero chance at claiming anything.
