Anyone found a workaround to this yet?

All I see now are island surrounded by giant gates, they stick out like a sore thumb. I feel like there should be a limit to the number of them you can build on an island. They look so awkward compared to everything in the game. I could see having one or two an island to serve as entrances, but people should be building walls and not awkwardly trying to piece gates together.

A bunch of people in my company are getting this. Currently unable to build ships.
