When did this become a thing? Thought imprinted boost only applies to the person who imprinted, and not just anyone.

Its been like this since forever? Fairly certain this is also how it worked in Ark.

There was an idiot in the atlas channel saying that imprinting does nothing and that the stats increase over the cubs maturation (which is simply not true), the stats go up by 4% each imprint (for bears, do the math if you do other animals 20/number of imprints) for a total of 20%.

I think part of the reason the PvE community is complaining is the difference in explanations of coming changes during the stream.

What they said about the changes to PvP sounded well thought out.  It was coherent and, while not a guarantee that it'll work as they think, it's definitely worth finding out .  It could be really interesting.  They've obviously had some very productive brainstorming sessions.  Awesome.

Then you get to the description of changes to PvE... There really wasn't a whole lot there, was there?  Maybe they'll get back to it later but right now it seems like there were no brainstorming sessions for this side of the game.  There was no coherent framework explained as there was for PvP changes.  Might work out just fine, but adding upkeep and calling it a day doesn't really inspire that much confidence.

I do think the PvP changes coming sound intriguing though and if their vision can become reality, it sure does have a lot of potential.

Another part is that people that dont play PvE dont know what its like to see your precious resources blocked of by some random kid that plops down a single foundation in your nodes and there is nothing you can do about it with these new changes.

With the claimflags you could atleast change the area to be company only and remove the offending foundation after the timer expired.

Even though i play PvE i think the PvP changes sound great, it will help smaller and bigger companies to not get offlined (which we all know is among the worst that can happen).

The settlement stuff sounds really cool but it feels more of a PvE change than a PvP change to some extent. As you said, we still need more information on the PvE side of things before we can make any assumptions but its important that we dont just lay down and die and wait for the PTR to hit (which isnt even guaranteed to have a PvE server). Especially not if they only put them up 1 week before the planned date since by the time that week has gone and the wipe has gone through before they are able to sift through all the feedback on the new system and by then it will be to late to change it without causing another uproar.

The pve guys need to chill. They can now play on the PvP server in relative safety and the sense of community they foster should be brought over to pvp. The protections you are intending will level the playing field a lot more for all sized companies while also rewarding mega companies. Whole Islands will effectively become mega companies of seperate companies by force.

You are forgetting that not everyone wants to sail for 5 minutes and get blasted out of the water.

Some of us actually like to casually sail around looking for discovery points without getting murdered.

Some of us like to breed animals without worrying about them getting murdered the second the 9 hour window opens up.

The list goes on and on and none of it fits in with PvP.

The real solution is to allow the claim system to carry over to PvE so we can claim land without paying upkeep on our buildings. It will be impossible to maintain the large (and beautiful) structures that people have been building on PvE simply because the upkeep will be to high for everyone except the biggest companies that have tons and tons of slaves farming for them.

We also need a way to get rid of trolls that come in and block resources with foundations since that is exactly what will happen when this goes live - trolls will ruin everyone elses time.

And having raid timers in a 24/7 pvp game is retarded.

Ok good for you but not everyone does what you say. I play solo live on lawless and will fight you online outnumbered IDC. Not everyone that loves to PVP offline raids people.

You need to make up your mind.

Assholes like me lol ? Why because I like to PVP in a PVP game hmm. And the only fighting on sea idea is lame and would be a worse approach to benefit the larger companies even more. The casual PVP you seek is on the unofficial servers try there.

I play PvE because i cant be arsed to start over daily.

But its exactly because people have no balls to fight you when your online so they wait until you need to go out and then come and steal your shit.

You are paying the tax to live there. There is nothing saying they wont or will wipe you or even protect you. And having raid timers in a 24/7 pvp game is retarded.

Yet another reason to play PvE. Assholes like you are ruining the fun for everyone else that just wants some casual PvP but instead gets forced to play 24/7 just to protect what little they have.

Now i dont agree with the 9 hour timer since its probably going to be shit, but having PvPvE servers (where you can only fight at sea and not raid land) would be a better approach.

Devs told us, that they want to protect small companys/solo players but achieve exactly the opposite. At the moment you can still challenge a megatribe through claim e.g. take vacations and raid them offline. This will no longer be possible.

You realise that the reason you are paying tax to the bigger company is for them to have a reason not to wipe you out right?

And why would you want offline raiding its by far the worst thing that can happen to anyone and is not fun in any way shape or form.

    - Claim flags will no longer prevent enemy building. You can now build anywhere, and only structure build radius will prevent it. This is a non-default, which will be enabled on our PvP Networks.

This is probably the worst thing you can do to the PvE scene. You need to open up the entire map on PvE aswell so you can see firsthand what the no-claims will be when you drop the update.

As others have said it will be pillars and foundations everywhere not only to block others from building, but to prevent resources from spawning. We already see it on multiple places out in the world where people come in and place a single foundation with a bed on it right in the middle of metal node spawns - or even worse close to mineral oil nodes essentially blocking them off preventing anyone else from getting said material.

You already have a new claim system in place for PvP why not let that same system be on PvE and hardlimit it per company to a very strict number that can be changed later on if needed - 3 would be more than enough even for the largest company since they can claim the biggest island they can find and hold it, this way we dont need to farm like mad just to keep our structures alive due to the natural decay but it will still allow people to build on the island and it will allow for some repairupkeep to be gained passively which helps smaller companies that hold smaller islands.

I really hope you reconsider on when the PTR goes up as 1 week wont be long enough to see the actual changes and how it affects the game on a larger scale and i hope that it will be one with the PvP settings and one with the PvE settings since the two will play out entirely different.

  9. We are looking at procuring a few more female bears for our harem.

Prefered stats are HP and weight but if the price is right other stats can also be of interest.

Respond here or hook me up on discord @ ostjaevel#6947

We are currently situated in F11 but if your not to far away we can come to you for pickup.

  10. One of the animals (preferably more) need to be able to gather thatch from trees at a higher rate than a metal pick. Yes the bear can pickup reed and leaves that count as thatch but not all biomes have them which means that you have to travel fairly far to get one of the most used materials in the game.

Breeding needs a rework so they eat even when your offline and the only threats are temperature and predators. The timer itself would be less of a pain if i could atleast log off for an hour before they "starved" to death with full inventories and trough within range.
After the initial "baby" stage breeding should get slightly easier in terms of temperatures that they can handle, most biomes have fairly large swings in temperatures which means that its going to be almost impossible to get them to full maturation without babysitting for the entire maturation.

Dont nerf any of the animals more because of PvP, most of them are already useless or have hidden effects that are almost impossible to find without doing weird testing (like someone said crows make you take way less fall damage).

    For specific changes to animals:
    - Cows
Have a stat that lets you get more milk

    - Sheep
Change the harvestable wool to something that is more used (at this point im fairly certain that most players are swimming in hide).

    - Elephant
Make its stamina regen faster, at its current speed its less atrocious for me to run around farming on my own and dropping wood on it than it is to farm with the elephant, wait for stamina and farm again.

    - Rhino
Let it get metal at the same rate as with a pick, right now it basically removes the metal from the stones and only picks up the stone+flint.

    - Penguins
Their current AoE insolation needs to become an actual buff (instead of silently adding to the values) and it needs to affect baby animals (if it currently does its not noticable).

  11. We had a similar glitch. My friend reported that one of our brigs was missing (was anchored behind 2 other ships, a brig and a galleon):

So i logged on to check it out and since i was in a different grid i was like "But its there!" - tried to fast travel to the bed and poof greenscreen and ended up dead in the water.

    unknown.png

Rechecked my map and lo and behold, it was gone.

    unknown.png

Found it a few minutes later on the border to the south of us:

    unknown.png

Needless to say it was not there for either of us until after i tried to fast travel to it.

Moved to it and it was anchored, luckily for us no SotD or other crap was around but we had to dodge the usual storms on the way back with it.

They really need to fix this since its quite literally gamebreaking especially for smaller companies that dont have the luxury of having multiple ships.

  12. This change legit needs to be reverted. There was no reason to change the way we build stone and especially not considering that some regions dont even have access to some of the things needed anymore.

Paste is hard to get in the tundra, metal is hard to get in certain places and with the current weight on it its hard to transfer it back to your island while dodging all the ships on the sea.

  13. @Jatheish - I skimmed through the replies and couldnt find anyone mentioning this:
Are there any plans to reduce the insane time it takes for the babies to mature enough not to die by random heatstrokes/freezing to death?

I tried to breed a cub (a baby bear) and while sitting at the beach in E11 it would go from being superhot to supercold needing campfires to survive.
This would have been fine however the time it took to go to 10% took about 5 hours of constant care and feeding it. And then i spent about 1-2 hours before i just gave up, i had kinda hoped that once it went juvenile it would be able to handle itself or atleast be more resistant to the temperature. If nothing else allow me to forcefeed it to regain HP but no matter how much meat, fish or berries i shoved down its throat its HP kept dropping by 0.3 each tick - it regained minor health at some points while being forcefed but nothing major that could prevent its death.

If we could cut down the timer it needs constant care and instead let it be on its merry own way after 2-4 hours then it would be viable.
Granted i didnt spend the remaining 40 something odd hours with the cub i dont see any reason for it to be able to handle itself any time sooner.

    - Breeding. We want this to be more difficult than it was in ARK and for players to have to travel around the map to raise their species on ideal biomes. Whilst that does make it harder for smaller groups, arguably you could focus on breeding within your region and build up some beast mode tames to trade

  14. Looking to get my hands on a penguin, higher level is appreciated but not necessary.

Currently camped out in F11 but can move to other grids to pick it up if needed.

Got gold and blueprints to trade with (and ofc fiber).

Either reply here or DM me on discord, ostjaevel#6947

  15. +1

Though id rather see a third gate added instead of them adding the option to waste half the materials on getting a halfsized gate, as mentioned a 2x2 would be great since it would allow me to build a barn to store my pets in without making it superlarge or looking stupid with the 4 high door.
