    There does need to be an application for EA like the old beta testing applications.  To many children getting into EA tests thinking this is the completed product instead of READING the Early Access disclaimer.   But reading is hard.

    Henry Morgan...famed pirate/privateer.  He once sailed the seas in command of nearly a dozen ships and over 1000 men.  He was so successful as a pirate/privateer he was awarded governorship of Port Royal Jamaica and a full pardon from the Royal crown.

    No but it had 84 guns, 42 on a side.  The bottom deck had 48lb cannons.  That means they fired 48lb cannonballs... Each gun was around a ton.  This doesn't include the 64lb carronades on the back.  Or the 800+ souls on board.

    Divide the world into 4 equal parts and give each faction a section. 

    Make players and their companies join a faction (equal spread of course)

    Each company can still claim land, can still build ships etc... however same faction cannot attack you. 

    This allows for smaller groups to go further back while the larger companies live on the "front lines" and if the smaller companies want some pvp action, all they gotta do is sail to the frontlines to assist the larger companies.

    This will give us ALL an area where we know there will always be pvp if we want it. It will also give more casual players a safer area the deeper they go into their own factions territory.

     

    Edit: Forgot to mention that each faction can advance its territory by attacking the other factions and successfully winning

    Then you have the issue of alts, and faction population balance, then the faction alliances that will happen.  Putting in factions wont help the games core issues.

    The yell stamina drain is not a bug.  It is actually in the description when using it.  

    And we have captured people.. we have had them until they woke up, and then we usually ask them to do something stupid, like.....

    -Dance

    -gather xxxx amount of materials.

    -listen to one of our guys poetry.. (we really didn't like that guy)

    -or be publicly executed.. we will hang them.

    More guidance would have been nice, for players that were not previously played ARK. It really looks, to me, like they catered only to players that did play ARK before.     Basically what you suggest: use a glitch to get yourself out, instead of fixing the gameplay mechanics... 

     

    The yell VOIP button uses stamina.  It also transmits your voice further.  What I have seen some people do is put on an annoying song or sound and hold down the yell button and wait until they die.   Look at your key mapping to find out which key it is, I remapped my whole keyboard day 2.

    Again, limiting companies and alliances size is not going to work.  People will just use outside of game methods of forming alliances.  I have seen dozens of websites for this VERY thing in other games that did limit alliances.  And it actually lead to more problems for others than it did anything else.  Where as now you can see who is attacking you, and what alliance they are from, in this other system you can be attacked and have no clue what alliance they are from.

    I like a legit PVP fight.  But those are rare and far between.   I enjoy this game because it does happen a fair bit on the weekends.

    In short, my feelings are:
    - Improve PvP, allowing the skill to reign over numbers

    - Reduce the impact of tames, they should have minor supporting roles, able to help a little in gathering, building but not be totally full out war machines (else the game is just ARK without actual Dinosaurs, well actually i already seen Dinosaurs.....).
    - Maybe make dragging cannons behinds animals very slow. Swimming with a cannon on a cart should not be possible 

    - Jail time should have a limit in maximum time, a reasonable limit. Hours, not days or weeks, or months or years... 

    - Increase the impact boats have, they should be the single most important thing to have, build and maintain.  Wee supposed to be pirates, after all, not beastmasters.

    Ever heard of Pirates sailing with dinosaurs, bears, lions, Elephants and such? as long as tames stay as important as they are, its basically a reskin of ARK survival with inferior boats..
    Who feels the same? what should be improved?

    I agree with most of this... except the part about the being captured... you can kill yourself even when handcuffed.  There is a yell option which uses stamina, you can do that until you die.  It takes about 10min at most.

    Wow... that was a bit of an overaction.   No offense but when you play this type of game you have to expect some attacks like this all the time.  People want an easy "I win" and the easiest thing is to offline raid someone.  Makes them feel leet.   I prefer doing online raids when they are online and sinking their stuff when they are right there doing things.

    MMO= Massively Multiplayer Online 

    Last time I checked Multiplayer ment multiple players, which if we look at the root of that... multi, which means more than one.  It can be safely deduced that the game is not a single player game.


  13. Puckle gunners are supposed to be invulnerable.  

    Are you sure they were killed while on the gun or did someone whistle them off of the gun?  If you leave your NPCs set to heed whistle commands they can be called off by someone else in the company.

    Its +30 Fort... and it really isnt worth it for most of the higher level players.

    Honestly it is REALLY hard to convince any of my company mates to not just kill themselves instead of eating.   Even with the meal buffs from higher level cooked meals.

    The medium cannon is fine.  I have 4 on the back of my schooner and easily deal with SotD, and I have 4 per side... not sure why though... might replace them with 3 large cannons per side for giggles.  But the medium cannon has different options for shots, like bar shot... spike shot... those are options that the large cannon doesnt have.

    I would like to suggest that the craftable bucket be allowed to be added to the inventory and access the wall/mount hook so that you could gather rain water in the bucket for fresh water to drink.  This would be great for the smallest ships, you would mount the wall mount holder on the mast and insert a bucket and wait for rain to collect a small amount of some fresh drinkable rain water. Also once filled with water the bucket can't affect the weight of the ship so much like the barrel does once its full. 

    I think you can put a stone reservoir on a ship....I havent tried though.
